  1. How detailed is your city in OpenStreetMap ? http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=5/-26.942/133.901
  2. No he's right, this was a very bad pitch. I stopped making liveries for the ATR, and I'm now testing World2XPlane with XPOSM vectors. My settings for the shadows here is still 3D on aircraft. I can only see the shadows of the clouds in my sceneries, not the shadows of the beautiful R2 Library buildings or trees. My GPU is just too old for this.
  3. Awesome shots ! :Applause: I think it's time for me to buy an Airbus for X-Plane... is this Airbus available for GNU/Linux ?
  4. Great shots and awesome clouds and shadows ! :Applause:
  5. I'm not sure P3D/FSX user are really interested in collaborative work. OSM2XP already had an export function for FSX for 3D objects like wind turbines, water towers, radio masts, lighthouses... Result: no one was using it. What they prefer is paying a lot of money for vectors to companies infringing the OpenStreetMap license (ODbL). Or am I wrong ?
  6. Once you'll start using X-Plane, you'll find many more reasons to continue using it.
  7. Thank you all for the comments. The default ground scenery is already awesome: a global plausible world with a good mesh and land-class, and you have all the vectors for the roads (even small streets), railways, power-lines, coastlines, rivers, lakes from OpenStreetMap, so you can fly VFR out of the box. On another flight simulator, the price is very very high if you want a worldwide mesh and vectors like X-Plane, you'll not reach the same quality, and you may even finish your flight because of the famous "OOM" problem. On top of the default X-Plane scenery, I'm using OSM2XP and XPOSM converted objects from OpenStreetMap (precise forests and buildings, water towers, wind turbines, updates for the streets...). I'm also using ground textures from SimHeaven but not worldwide. If you want worldwide ground textures like this, you'll need more than 40 Terabytes of hard disk space.
