  1. So do you have an ADE project file or just a Bgl file?
  2. How did you extend the runway? If you used ADE did you start from the stock airport? If so then you should see the antenna in the ADE display. (Make sure that you have View > Library Objects checked. Make sure also that the Scenery Complexity setting in the menu bar is EXTREMELY_DENSE. You should then be able to see the antenna - probably as a narrow yellow rectangle. If you want to delete it then select it in ADE and hit the delete key. You could also choose to move it back in relation to the extended runway. To do that just select it and drag it to the new location. In ADE you do not need to worry about exclusion rectangles for stock objects. Provided you have loaded the stock airport to work from then ADE will take care of it. Use File > Compile (or Ctrl+C) to generate your new Bgl file. If oyu want to do more work make sure that you work from the ADE project file and not by loading back the Bgl file you created.
  3. Well it depends how ADE was installed. Some versions and some manual install zips don't set the registry for the Environment Checker to find.
  4. File > Compile; or Ctrl+C. The usual folder to compile to is Addon Scenery\scenery. Make sure not to load the Bgl file back to make modifications but alsways load from and save to the project file (.ad2). As for the Environment Checker can you give us a bit more detail please? what is the error message for example???
  5. As Lance says. ADEX uses the Microsoft Compilers provided with the FSX SDK. This is not free and comes as part of the deLuxe and/or Gold Editions of FSX. There are two compilers used by ADEX. The first is BglComp. As you have found it is possible to get airports created with the FS9 compiler to work in FSX. However there are additional features in FSX supported by the FSX compiler that will not be available in that case. The second compiler is Shp2Vec. This handles terrain elements such as flattens, land class and exclusions for things like autogen. I am not aware of any currently available free alternative compilers for FSX. AFX by Flight1 does use its own compiler and does not rely on the MS BglComp. It is however payware so there is a cost in acquiring that also.
  6. You don't over write anything. In fact you should not. Compile in ADE using File > Compile. Choose the Addon Scenery\scenery folder as the target to save the compiled Bgl file. Make sure FSX is not running when you compile. After the Bgl file is in the scenery folder then run FSXvand your updates should be in effect.
  7. For the most part scenery objects such as buildings can be removed using Exclusion Rectangles. However these need to be used with care. If you are interested in removing everything then a large one will do that. However it may also remove things that you did not want removed. In some circumstances both taxi signs and FSX jetways will be affected. The law of unintended consequences runs rife when using large exclusions. So it is often better to use a series of small exclusions set to deal with single or small groups of objects. If they are default objects (that is from FSX and not from third party add ons) then I would humbly suggest looking at Airport Design Editor. Loading a stock airport into ADE will load the airport buildings. In ADE you do not need to use an exclusion. You just need to select any buildings you want gone and delete them. These will then be gone in FS. ADE does use exclusion rectangles but it creates very small ones and you do not need to worry about creating your own. There are several other tools that will create exclusions. One of the easiest if you are just looking to deal with scenery objects such as building is Instant Scenery 2 from Flight1. This has the benefit of working in Sim so you can see what you are doing in the 'real scenery' so to speak. As for Airport Factilities Editors it depends on whether this is FS9 or FSX. AFCAD is the grand daddy tool and is still available and used for FS9. It has not been updated for many years now. As for currently supported tools the main choices are AFX again from Flight1 or Airport Design Editor. Both support FS9 and FSX. AFX is payware and developed by the same person as Instant Scenery. ADE is primarily freeware (it does have paid for advanced tools) and is developed by me. As for which would suit your needs best I will leave that to others to say.
  8. I am pleased you got things to work. Changing Scenery complexity can 'hide' buildings depending on the setting of the object. Each object can have its own setting. So it could work but the chances of getting rid of just the objects you do not want and not hiding a load you do want is rather small. I am familiar with Instant Scenery although I do not use it myself (being a tool developer I kinda tend to use my own tools). It is, however, and excellent program for placing objects. It has the great advantage that you place objects within the Sim so you can see what is going on. IS2 can also create exclusion rectangles I think. I believe there is a trial version so you might want to have a play and see if it does work for you.
  9. I have never tried to use RWY12 with FSX. However the error seems to be related to the application itself. I have just started a copy of RWY12 here on Win7 and it started fine. Having said that you say you want to get rid of some objects. This would usually be done with a tool that creates exclusion rectangles. I am not at all sure that it create exclusions. The other thing to be aware of is that RWY12 uses the FS9 compiler. Stuff compiled with this can often work in FSX but there can be problems with textures and colors of some objects. If you just want to remove objects then there are a number of tools that will place exclusions for you.
  10. Not necessarily and even if they are in the same folder as your update then they are loaded in file name order. So if there is one loading after your file with the airport in then it could over write your change.
  11. ...and the ILS shows up at the original location in sim? The usual cause for this is that there is another Bgl file containing the airport that loads after your modifications and resets things. Do you have any third party addons that might contain the airport? Some of the AI traffic packages contain airport files and these can cause all sorts of problems if you are not aware of them...
  12. Instant Scenery from Flight1 is the current incarnation of EZ Scenery and provides in sim placement of objects. It is payware. If you are working on airports then you might consider taking a look at ADE (sorry to plug my own tools). This provides for object placement along with airport design. It is not 'in sim' however.
  13. Can you tell us what correction you made - was it to move the ILS?
  14. I am sorry but I do not have anything like that. Perhaps someone else will know.
  15. As I recall you can add libraries to RWY12 - if so then it would be difficult to have a comprehensive catalog. I am sorry it is such a long time since I looked at that program so perhaps it comes with a default set and that is what you are asking about?
  16. My only suggestion is to try. A lot of FS9 objects do work in FSX although, as you mention, there can be problems with materials and textures.
  17. I don't want to get into any legal discussion because I am definitely not a lawyer and arm chair lawyering on these topics can become heated and fractious. My best advice is to read the terms and conditions for licensing the use of Google Images. Also if you were to cut around the writing then you certainly would be getting into very sticky ground indeed. I think there is free imagery available so for a start I would look for some that is free to use. The usually way folks go about photo real scenery is to use something like GMax or perhaps FSDS. These are 3D design tools and have a failt steep learning curve. As I recall SBuilderX can also handle photo real scenery but not the 3D design part of it.
  18. As Lance (Meshman) says, this sounds like a missing airport background polygon or flatten. If this is an addon airport then did it come with any files with CVX in the name? If so these probably contain terrain information such as flattens. If you did not include this file along with the airport file then try that first.
  19. For your own use it could probably be done but be aware of the copyright issues you would face if you used Google Images and published them as part of your work.
  20. Bob. If you would like to email me the Bgl file then I will take a look at it.
  21. So to be sure. This Bgl file contains an airport and some objects. When you open the Bgl file in ADE you get the airport but not the objects? Are there any small black boxes displayed where the objects should be?
  22. There is a title update. Do you mean that you downloaded it and it did not install?
  23. My Bad and apologies. I did not read Georges' post properly.
  24. Where do you want us to reply. You have started this question again on another forum so please tell us whether you want to get answers over there or here.
