OK, after the third reinstall of the Baron, and your ARMON fix for the autopilot......and got W7 and FSX running with the second 580 card installed, with the 285.xx driver, I turned up the sliders to max, started at ORBX 74s, the 3D instrument view was OK, ( a little dark for my eyes) but, same as before, no skins in the spot plane view..........took off and couple min later I heard a loud buzz and then a BLUE ERROR screen shows up saying to restart the computer???...........I this an issue with the Carenado download, or my settings on the graphics card??..........seems like I changed an FSX setting on the multiple monitor to NOT use performance (something like that, but I can't remember where I found it), but recall that did fix the skin issue but the blue screen is a new one that I never had with the Gigabyte 480 card...........hope this is enough info to solve these problems..............B42L8

I just sent my Nvidea GTX480 back to Gigabyte for repair in warranty, but the reason for doing so may be helpful to others when you cannot start Windows 7.................situation, after installing a additional SSD drive, along with a re-install of W7 and FSX, I could not get W7 to display, nor could I get the screen to show up in "safe mode",. after trying various keyboards, mice, etc, I installed a different Nvidea card and the W7 desktop came up.......so maybe everyone knows how a defective card will affect the computer operation, but if not, maybe my experience will be of help.......B42L8

I just installed a SSD drive for FSX, and now am reloading everything.........installed the latest version of the B 58, including Bert Pieke's AP fix, and now when I hit the Shift 1 to get the AP view, and undock and move to second monitor, it goes blank?? all the other screens on the second monitor work fine, just this one.................on the old drive I could move the AP anywhere and no problem.............Anyone have a thought as to what the gremlin is??????????? thanks, B42L8

click the "A" key till you get to the fuel selectors, then turn them on and start the engines.............works for me.......B42L8

for anyone who like big monitors (TV), I just got the LG 47", 3D TV from Costco, and this is SPECTACULAR!!, the 3D gives off too many lines and really doesn't work very well, but the color, brightness, and everything else about this picture is the "cats pajamas".......I tried a bunch of other brands, sizes and types, and this LED is the top of the heap............a little pricy, but if you want total immersion, this is the one for you..........B42L8

are you hitting the "A" button till you get to the fuel switch...........it runs very nice with gas.............B42L8

For what it helps, I have been trying various sizes and types of TV, size 40 to 50 in.(all are 1080p)...........first was my old LG 42 LCD, 60 hz, 5 years old, not a good picture and very hard to read Mail......second was the Westinghouse LCD 40, 120HZ, not bad, but not great, and the Mail print was not clear, bright or sharp..........then to the LG 50 plasma, love the size, but very heavy!!, again, not very bright, and the Mail print not good......................Now I just set up a Toshiba 40, LED, 40S51U, with the internet apps so I can stream Netflix, and very light to handle..............Mail print is bright and sharp, maybe too bright so will play with the fonts, but a super picture for sure...............and Costco had a sale price of under 500$..........am not sure I will keep this one, but am SURE I will get a LED type, maybe bigger if one comes up for a good price ,no question about that............couple things about the plasma I found out, (I have the 480GTX card and a powerful computer), but FSX acted strange with the big plasma, traffic almost never showed up correct and the frames seemed to run low??, my thought is that it takes so much power from the card to run that TV, that it played games with FSX, my unskilled opinion!!..............but I just took off from KBFI and Ultimate Traffic 2 planes all over!!, and I can read the gauges with out doing popups all the time to get close..............and the GEX/REX gives very impressive pictures...............so the plasma goes back to the store this afternoon...............hope this is of some value to other simmers............but the big screen is a definite must have!!............B42L9

Well, I did it, got this beast on the desk, was a job just getting the packing box down the stairs..............am now sitting about 30" from the screen, and it fills the eyes from side to side...........did a test flight in the Caranado B58 out of Darrington in heavy clouds, all slders max, ......this has got to be about as real as it can get, the plasma is terrific, better than the LCD-LED 40" 1080p I tried last week.............I have special 30" focal eye glasses so that really helps with the sharpness...........I have the Nvidea 480 card and maybe the later one would even be better, am not that techy yet..............I don't think I have figured out how to set all the various settings as the print is still fuzzy and not as sharp as I would like, but considering that it is really to be viewed at 20 ft, this is quite a feast...............when using FSX, the picture is a blast!!.................it is no secret that Costco has a plicy of taking back the TV within 90 days, so if there is the energy to repack this, I might try a 46" 3D samsung which was about the same money...........there are so many inprovements that come out each month, it is hard to know where to stop?????????............so far, this is a "must have", if it fits on your desk.................B42L8

I have been using a 37 or 42 in TV for quite some time, and it is a great add'n to the sim, but the TV had a native resolution of 1368 x 768 (something like that), so it was not a clear and bright running on the 1960 x 1080 I use for FSX, so I got a 40 Westinghouse 1080p, 120Hz, LED...................this is sharper, brighter, and better color, but my computer tech friend said I should be using a plasma screen for the best results............so off to Costco to get one on sale, 50" 1080p, and return the Westy...............never had anything this big, so will be a treat, or a bust, ..............will give results later today, if anyone is looking to do the same large screen idea.........B42L8

I am running a 42" LG TV along with a widescreen 24" for instraments, but my problem is that the TV screen is not very clear, and when using to read Mail, the letters are way too fuzzy and not sharp at all.......but I am trying to set the video card (480), at 1960 x 1080, and it satw the native is only 1360..........actually, if I set the res at the 1360, rhw Mail print looks preety good, but gets way to big................so, I am going out today to look at 42 or 50 in plasma TBs. with a native at 1960 x 1080...............I thought 42" was too big, but now reading that simmers are going up to 50"............appreciate your comments as to how clear this is and also with the W7 Mail.....................B42L8

I use a 42 JG 50 that I bought on Craig;s list.................Love the size, but hate the picture!!..........this is a good TV I would guess, but not when you view the screen from 30", the print is fuzzy and not clear or dark......one problem is the native res is 1350 x 768, but I set it at 1680 x 1950, but would like to set at 1920 x 1080............I have calle dthe techs at LG and Samsung, and they suggest a set with 120 HZ, 1080p, LED, aand couple of other itedms I can't remember, ..............but would like to get some "expert" opinions on WHAT IS THE BEST, CLEAREST,CRISP PICTURE, I can get form using a large screen TV??..........this one is driving me nuts with the fuzzies...............OH YEA, IN ANOTHER LOCATION, i HAVE A wESTINGHOUSE 37 or 40" monitor I bought 4/5 years ago, and the picture on that is many, many, times clearer than this one..............also, Sansung suggested a commercial display model 400FP-3but that is over a thousand, too much!!, but does anyone have any comments on this type of picture??............will be waiting to get some comments so I can go shopping..............soon!!..............B42L8

I like the Carenado products and have several, but I hesitate to buy any more until they get the B58 avionics fixed for real......................have installed both patches and the altitude setting still does not work..............they look good but need some TLC.............B42L8

thanks for this info, but I have only one reality 430........is there any way to use only one??..............and the transponder and Audio panel, can that be replaced as a separate item??..........I installed the patch #2. and that was supposed to fix the altitude adjustments, but so far it has not worked for me...................do you have any ideas on how to make that work as on other planes??..............appreciate this.............as I like the plane if I forget the avionics................B42L8

thanks Bert, for the info, I guess I was of the understanding that one could preset the altitude and let the pitch take the plany up to that level automatically.............not quite like the one on the Duke..................B42 L8

After asking, Carenado sent me a new link that has the new patch, so I reinstalled the B58 and took a short trip................(and after rereading the AP manual re: adjusting the preset altitude with the mouse wheel), ......... and .unless I did something wrong, there is still no adjustment of the AP knobs, with the wheel or by dragging the mouse...............the ALT button did hold an altitude, but again, I could not adjust up or down after making a setting .......Also, can someone clear up another question, If the AP is ON, and only the ALT is pushed, is the heading supposed to be free to adjust via the yoke?? Likewise, if the HDG button is pushed, should I be able to adjust the altitude via the yoke??...............(could not find this answer in the Manual either), with the AP ON, and ALT ON, the direction was being set by the Course arrow, not the heading bug??.......this changed when I pushed the HDG button, so the AP must default to the Nav control if nothing else pushed??..................on the nice side, the fuel knob camera is a good feature I sent these questions to Carenado as well, and they have been quite speedy with responses, so will relate any info I get................hope this is of some help to others with same issues.......................B42L8

A big thanks to those that have had the "faling out " with the Carenado Baron on approach, did this a few times before coming in a litter hotter...............but GLSD to hear this is not only my sim ability but a program gremlin that is with others as well........................back to this program...................between this and the Turbo Duke, I have a plate full................B42L8

Just a note for those that have the KORS, (I love this one!!), they just have listed a freeware patch that puts moving peiple in the airport,.................this is a HOOT!!..............read somewhere there is also one for Darrington, but I haven't seen that..............anyone else see this??????????? Just wondering if it is only my download..........but, I cannot set the altitude, other than when there, I can click the ALT button and it holds, but no way to click the up or down VS when the HDG is on??..............is this the way this control works, or is it a bad install, or it needs fixing in a later SP??...........Don't mind waiting for the fix, but appreciate feedback as to the status of correct operation....................Great plane for sure!! I am not an expert, but when I do this, I just right click the panel and unlock the screen and move to the other monitor, works like a charm to adjust the size to see where you are going.........the screen in the VC is too small for me.............(on a 37" screen)........B42L8

Could you direct us to where this gauge file is located, could not find in the B59 air cfg. folder,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and after locating, we oly change the bold values ?? ..........thaks, B42L8

If Carenado is monitoring this , I would hope the patch would provide more travel on the switch levers, I can hardly see if they move so not sure when lights, etc are on, (good thing the "tips" show up!! maybe a switch pop up would help............and how do I get to the fuel switch................all in all, this is a real delight to fly!! thanks to all for this info, the ONLY thing this great plane needs (in my opinion), is a moving map................I got lost last nite tring fo land at the Orlando Executive airport, so I need the map!!........anyway, for those not real familiar with changing gauges, do I just add the lines of text in the panel folder and it then changes the gauge to look like the picture??........... , if there are any more specific steps, boy, I would appreciate and think that anyone who buys this product will also be in the market for this improvement...........too bad that Carenado did not have this as an option, considering how detailed everything is /////////..................Look forward to making these changes, thanks to you all!!

Am I just picky, or is there a way to click the heading indicator and course needle, without pulling the mouse across the screen............just clicking the mouse right or left by degrees..............and the various levers, they barely move up or down, so hard to see if they on or off.....................otherwise it is a dream machine for sure................super job!!!

Not sure if this is part of the problem, but I could not get the installer to work, would not take the serial number...............till I got a memo form the developer that one has to make sure the name and serial number are in the far left corner when signing in.................after doing this it installed fine................
