  1. What exactly do you expect at this point in time, It's pre release and the SDK is not finalized yet, how may FSX native addons were available before the FSX SDK was released ? What does look promising is that FSX/P3D scenery seems to port over very easily so the 3rd party Devs will only have minimal work to do as they did in the transition from FS9 to FSX and FSX to P3Dv1.
  2. I think it has been withdrawn from sale unfortunately. nothing showing on Hifi Sims website
  3. Of course it is, as we all know, it is based on the same codebase so no surprise there really. I understand that there is some resistance and negativity around FSW from long time FSX and P3D users, but watch the videos and then tell me that default P3D environment looks as good. Undeniably the atmospherics are the best of any default simulator available, there is no way available that we can buy rain and cloud effects this good for FSX/P3D. Out of the box the sim has FTX global, a $79 cost , accufeel $19, a handfull of recent Carenado/albao aircraft. The Sim is currently on sale for $19 and they have already pushed way past the graphic capabilities of FSX/P3D and it's not even a full release yet, Watch the videos on you tube and imagine where this will be a year from now if it gets support from the community
  4. So you did not notice the very much improved environmental effects or the motion of the aircraft provided by the built in A2A accufeel which on it's own costs almost as much as this whole simulator in it's pre release form. The Sim is really developing into a nice product at a very reasonable price and once the SDK is released we should get some reasonably priced 3rd party addon's via Steam and it's frequent sales. Whats not to like ?
  5. Those examples while being quite good are not in the same league as the FSW videos, and remember this is a pre release unfinished product, nothing else has environmental effects on this level and I say that as the most biased P3D user you are likely to meet. .
  6. As a huge P3D fan I have to admit FSW is shaping up to be the true successor to FSX.
  7. Thanks Bill, I will try that when i get back home. I have messaged the Dev to see if a keypress combo could be added, hopefully he will see the need for it.
  8. I have all the autopilot buttons mapped successfully to my Goflight hardware using the built in keypress commands but the one item still left to do is the altitude pre selector. Has anyone found a way to get this gauge to respond to anything other than mouse clicks. I cannot even get Fsuipc logging to show anything happening.
  9. He would have got my whisky and soda in his lap shortly after.
  10. Ron, by the time you have a product released for 32bit the market will have moved on dramatically. We are going to want native P3D v4 addons that take advantage of the extra VAS headroom and give us even more features, things that could not be achieved in 32bit. Higher Def textures, pbr, VC raindrops/icing etc, we are ready for all that, but is Eaglesoft?
  11. That's what I am planning to do with the Flightsimware Lear and see how I get on with it on Vatsim, like the OP I really need a break from the NGX and tubes in general Eaglesoft have really left me scratching my head on hearing they are staying 32bit (for now) They haven't released anything for years and must have known about V4 being 64bit, everyone else knew well in advance and got their products 64bit compliant very quickly, quicker than I ever envisaged back when folk used to claim that getting ESP codebase and it's addons to 64bit was a massive hurdle that would take years.
  12. Vatsim flying is a world away from default ATC vectoring though, you need to be able to complete any instructions given to you by the ATC controllers quickly and accurately, especially on busy online events. So having working Vnav, FLC, Dir-to, Sids and stars etc really helps here, Carendo products whilst looking great and working well within the confine of the sim and default planning/ATC are not really up to the task of online flying, sadly few addons really are. Oh how I wish for a business jet done to the level of PMDG, seems like Eaglesoft is staying with 32bit and so will soon be consigned to history and there is nothing else even close to being released. very sad state of affairs really.
  13. You ask it to descend and the aircraft will probably start climbing.
  14. It supports Sids and Stars because it has a navigraph database included, however you cannot do a direct-to because you will lose your flightplan, practically useless online. I bought (to my regret) the 550 and the 525 both with the navigraph extension packs, both look lovely but are essentially useless in the avionics department as are all the Carenado jets. You would be a brave man to try and fly one of these on Vatsim.
  15. As far as I know the facility for the transparent window is not available at this time in P3Dv4 Peter Dowson was chasing LM about adding it back, probably better to ask Peter over at his FSuipc forum
  16. Paul, I am away from my flightsim PC for the next week but I am very much looking forward to trying these textures.
  17. I was the same as you John, always booked the window seats. but lately I find I book an aisle seat for my wife and I. Much more comfortable, easier access to the drinks trolley, I get to stretch one leg out at least and don't have to put up with the wife falling asleep snoring in my ear.
  18. That looks fantastic Paul, FSW need to hire you ASAP Where can we get these textures ?
  19. I doubt anyone is ripping out Proline 21 systems in favour of a Garmin GTN750
  20. Nothing at all to the level of the NGX, Eaglesoft have a few arriving soon but Eaglesofts version of soon might be different to most folks understanding of "soon" Milviz have a Lear on the way but I suspect we may see P3D V5 sooner.
  21. Yes, Vpilot works great in remote mode on the laptop, being able to see the controller positions and freq's and unicom messages is a great help as is being able to type your replys for the times that the controllers are unintelligible ie. most times
  22. I run the following networked on an old IBM t60 1.8Ghz dual core. Fscommander, ASN, Navigraph charts app, VPilot, plus a browser window. While old, the laptop handles this all very well and it's nice being able to view the moving map/charts and also the VPilot text output and controllers online from Vatsim
  23. Ezdok working great for me as it has for years, the new version 2 has another update coming soon and the developer is now well and is active in his forum. Another example of competition being good for us simmers, chaseplane got him moving again.
