  1. In expert mode, you are not shown what to say. You need to know what to say without assistance from VoxATC.
  2. Hmmm Not looking good so far, from what I'm seeing with the first impressions so far. I think I'll pass on this one for now.
  3. Don't have any issues while in spot view, Rich... I know, that is the biggest turn off about OpusFSI, the fact that the UI is not very friendly. Sometimes having too many options can be a bad thing. I only use it for the BK option and if I could find a much friendlier way of doing it, I would drop Opus all together.
  4. Hi Rich, This is how I currently have it set: Hope this helps, brother! PS: I use my daughter's Astro A30 Mixamp connected to the PC via USB, which turns it into a dedicated soundcard. This way I use my BK connected to the Astro A30 and route the audio to the Mixamp via OpusFSI. With this being said, I have the volume knob on the mixamp to FULL POWER. Thus why the settings might seem low.
  5. Are the specs in your profile up to date? Those are some very aggressive settings! What FPS are you averaging with a complicated airplane addon such as the NGX, AS A318, etc? Thanks!
  6. My current setup: ASN for weather REX4 HD Direct for textures OpusFSI for ButtKicker control P3Dv2.4 for simulator LIveDISPATCH for ACARS/Flight Logging Can't wait to get a TrackIR 5 and I will be set!
  7. Exactly! Each PC is unique and there are so many variables. I learned the hard way that it is best to just find what works best for your setup, even if it means doing things frowned upon such as enabling HT, well at least in my case. LOL I'm glad you were able to sort it out as well!
  8. For those that aren't up to date on Internet jargon, CSB stands for Cool Story Bro... LOL Anyway, I just wanted to share a quick story... In my never ending quest of trying to get the stutters out of my P3D setup, I have tried EVERYTHING under the sun, and each time, I was always left scratching my head wondering why my sim continues to stutter like it's going out of style. Ive tried it all. DSR, NI, nVidia CP, in-game settings, vSync on, vSync off, FPS limited, FPS unlimited, etc etc etc... And to make things even more frustrating, I believe I have a decent system. Nothing cutting edge but it should at least give me decent performance. i7-3770K @ 4.8GHz / HT OFF 8GB DDR3 2400MHz RAM 10-12-12-31-1N GTX680+ 4GB @ 1280MHz GPU / 6000MHz RAM 256GB Samsung 840 SSD HDD Windows 7 x64 SP1 Samsung 46" HDTV 1080P Like I said, nothing to write home about by today's standards, but it should hold up it's own with moderate settings within P3D. What really caught my attention the past few days was a thread where affinity mask was being discussed and the general consensus was that P3D really benefits from having as many cores as you can throw at it. This got me thinking. I have a CPU which has HT built-in (albeit always disabled) and potentially, I have an additional 4 cores available and just kept dormant. So, I went ahead and enabled HT on my CPU and of course, I had to drop the speed down to 4.7GHz due to the increase in heat. This allowed me to drop my vcore a notch and after a few hours of OCCT/Linx, my system is humming along nicely. Low to mid 80s Celcius while running OCCT/Linx. Not too shabby considering that HT is ON and running 1.2GHz above stock speeds! Also, while running P3D, temps barely break 60C. Anyhow, went ahead and made some quick Prepar3D.cfg tweaks in order to start preparing my sim for photoreal scenery such as MSE. I added/changed the following tweaks: [Display] TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT =80 TextureMaxLoad=30 [Main] FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.20 [TERRAIN] LOD_RADIUS =9.500000 I quickly started P3D and after running task manager, I quickly noticed that core 0 was pegged at max activity while cores 2, 4 and 6 showed some activity. Cores 1, 3, 5 and 7 were quiet. Ok, so I taxied to the runway and proceeded to take off. Immediately after takeoff, I started seeing the activity on cores 1, 3, 5 and 7 starting to pick up! I wanna say that as I did some circuits around the airport at 2,000', I can clearly see that ALL cores were getting a workout! Now, comes the best part. Almost all my stutters were GONE! I was still getting some, especially on turns, so I decided to play around with the display settings within P3D. Prior to enabling HT, I always had to keep vSync ON/Triple Buffering ON and UNLIMITED FPS, in order for me to get decent performance, but with stutter nation, of course. After tweaking, enabling HT and experimenting, I ended up with Vsync OFF, Triple Buffering OFF and FPS slider set @ 30, and now my sim is running almost stutter free! I still get an occassional stutter but I can live with it. It is what it is. The fact is that by enabling HT on my system and fine tuning it with the settings I posted above, I can say P3D is running as smooth as FSX used to, BUT with all the goodies and eye candy that come with P3D such as cloud shadows, VC shadows, etc. Ground textures are extremely sharp, down t the horizon. Barely any blurries at all. I have yet to see a blurry or texture swaps. What I have learned this evening and what I hope others might learn from my CSB moment of the day, is that always try out everything available. You might never know. What doesn't work for many, might be exactly what YOU need to do on YOUR system. Like I said, it's always been said that HT should be off and thus I always played by those "rules". This evening, I decided to go against that and lo and behold, that was exactly what my system needed. And with that folks, I conclude my CSB of the day.
  9. MCO is outstanding and I edited the AFCAD file so the runway lights and approach lights show up in P3Dv2.4. The only issue is that there is currently no workaround to having the taxiways connected at the elevated taxiway bridges. If you connect the taxiways via AFCAD, it will raise the elevation in that area and the bridges will appear too high and above the rest of the airport. Without these taxiways connected, your AI will not be able to taxi to a runway/gate/ramp if it has to cross these bridges.
  10. So what's the final verdict? Does TextureMaxLoad have any effect if we are running with UNLIMITED fps slider within P3Dv2.4?
  11. Like RotorWash said, make sure you have the Level-D AIRAC installed and pointed to the correct folder via the VoxATC Advanced Settings screen. Also, when creating your flight plan, it's good practice to set your final waypoint to be the transition fix for the area from which you will be approacing the airport. This way when you are arriving, VoxATC will know which STAR to assign, according to the transition waypoint in your flight plan. BTW, the SID/STAR configurator is to be used ONLY if you do NOT use NavData. If you use NavData, then all SIDS/STARS are included. No need to use the configurator to add them manually into your flight plan.
  12. Sorry if it has been asked before but I am currently on mobile and can't find the search this forum box... Is it possible to set the AI's taxi speed with this program as well? AI aircraft just crawl to their gates/runways. I am on P3D, FWIW. Thanks!
  13. I have not experienced any issues with AI movements. As a matter of fact, I usually set the AI slider within VoxATC settings to 10% because any higher, I get too much AI traffic movement. This is one feature of VoxATC that I simply admire, the ability for it to generate it's own AI traffic and thus being able to control it. Great for FPS as well, because it seems like you get AI traffic all around you out to about 20-30 miles. Somewhat like what Traffic Optimizer does. Great stuff! BTW, I have used it with UT2, MTX and WOAI as well, with no issues.
  14. Hi Rob, Do you have AERO enabled in your Windows OS? If not, make sure it is ENABLED.
  15. I second the motion... Welcome to AVSIM and looking forward to your releases! You are covering an aspect of our hobby which is loooong overdue for quality addons.
  16. I concur and I can say that this issue has been fixed in the latest beta version. I have done numerous flights and VoxATC has the latest arrival weather, thus giving you the correct runway for the current winds, at the time of arrival. It has been working great with ASN. No need to disable/enable to reset VoxATC. It will always have the correct weather. PS. And it's working without having to read a weather file or setting a path to such file. Once you are close to your destination, the correct weather is being loaded into VoxATC.
  17. Why you have to be such an effin smart &@($*? All we are doing is trying to help you out.
  18. Have you tried re-installing the UT2Bridge? Wouldn't hurt to try.
  19. I agree, Steve. I guess it all boils down to personal needs and unique sim setups. By using a zoom of 1.0 with WideViewAspect=1, my instruments look extremely sharp, so no need for SGSS. Good thing is that I can get away with just MSAA/SSAA within the prepar3d.cfg and my performance is outstanding. Heck, I am now running MSAA 8/SSAA 8 and the IQ is as good as DSR 4x/33% without the performance hit! Win win for me. :-) Now that my IQ is all set, it's time for me to move on to MSE and photoreal scenery. Being that I only fly commercial airliner flights, I have no need for autogen.
