  1. Hi Elaine, I have yet to install my FTX Global/Vector because I have been flying MSE scenery exclusively, but the answer would be yes. FS Global 2010 will give you worldwide custom mesh while the ultimate stuff is more localized and I think it has a higher resolution as well. In my case, I always fly in the western hemisphere, so I opted to go with Ultimate The Americas. I believe there is also a FS Global FTX edition, which should be an updated version of Global 2010 and catered to FTX Global. Or something to that effect.
  2. ASN user here and I agree that getting a full overcast layer with ASN takes a huge hit on performance, even with 1024MB textures. I have to set cloud density to medium, which in turn will make it almost impossible to have a completely overcast soup. You will still see breaks in the clouds. I think it's due to how ASN creates the layer. Overall, ASN is so good that I have accepted this compromise and just learned to live without being able to display a true overcast layer. Don't get me wrong, ASN is the best when it comes to creating an overcast layer. I've flown in them and they are amazing, but the performance hit is too big and thus making the sim almost unflyable.

If that's the case, then just stick with the stock airport scenery and enjoy the FPS. lol Though I get what you are saying and I am also like that, it does affect other things and not just cosmetics. For instance, if taxi links are broken, VoxATC or any other app that reads taxi links, will have a hard time vectoring you around the airport. VoxATC is unable to give you a taxi route if the taxi links are broken. This is why I opted to just connect the taxiways and leave the bridges out of place.
  4. No, it has not been fixed. If an AI aircraft leaves a gate and is going to taxi to a runway on the same side of the airport the gate is located, then it won't be a problem. In other words, as long as the AI aircraft does not need to go across the bridges, it will be ok. You can fix this yourself by using ADE and manually connecting the taxiways but once you do that, the bridges (3D objects) will appear above the ground and stick out like a sore thumb. I opted to keep the bridges above the ground and the taxiways connected. This way the AI can taxi anywhere in the airport without issues. The devs at Taxi2Gate were made aware of this issue and they stated it could not be fixed.
  5. FWIW, just yesterday, I installed the Pilot's Ultimate The Americas mesh and what a difference it makes! While on approach to TJSJ, I was able to see PR as I remember it. Mountains, valleys and tons of hills splattered all over the metro San Juan area, just as in real life. It's amazing how much it did for immersion by just having a better mesh addon installed. I highly recommend it!
  6. VoxATC user here and loving it. Also keep in mind that even though voice recognition is it's primary mode of operation and it's highlight feature, you can switch over COMMS control to the FO and do an entire flight without ever having to use your mic. Great for those nights where the rest of the family need silence and sleep. LOL

  11. LOL I agree and I admit, the animations for boarding, luggage loading, etc etc, are cool for the first few days but quickly wear off. I only use GSX now for it's pushback feature, which I think is superb. Even more so, knowing that it works in every airport, whether it's stock or 3rd party. Nonetheless, GSX is a nice product but in the OP's case, he should focus first on a good weather engine such as ASN, then upgrade textures with REX4 Texture Direct. Then if there is some $$$ left over, GSX will be a nice addition as well.

  16. I really liked these edits. Like I said before, I can compare it to when you adjust your TV with something like DVE and now you have better shadow detail. Everything looks clearer and you get to see things you didn't see before, because it was too dark, as when you are crushing blacks. Only thing I wish we could do is keep the brightness the way it is with the tweak, BUT have the shadows, especially cloud shadows, appear darker. They look too light.
  17. I manually removed what I thought were the BGL files that display the bridges but they still showed up. After further experimenting, the bridges themselves are tied into the terminal buildings BGL. Of course I did not want to get rid of the terminal buildings, so I am stuck with the elevated bridges, until this is fixed. T2G did say that it is impossible to do but we all know other developers have been able to create 3D bridges that have AI traffic taxi over them.
  18. Yup, works great in P3Dv2.4 and works even better after converting all textures to 1024. Only issue is with AI traffic around the airport, because the taxiway links are not connected at the bridges that connect the west side with the east side of the airport. If you connect them with ADE, then the bridges will be elevated and above the taxiway. I opted to just connect them with ADE and not pay attention to the elevated brigdes. AI now is able to taxi all over the airport and VoxATC is able to give me proper taxi routes regardless of where I am going within the airport. This issue has been brought up multiple times at the T2G website but it has not been acknowledged by the authors. Regardles, I highly recommend it! PS. Since I use MSE Florida, I also removed the photoreal tiles that T2G MCO comes with. Makes the airport blend better with MSE Florida and also reduces VAS.

  20. Beat you to it, Dave hahaha I also did my WOAI packages and as expected, better performance and especially visuals since now they are mipped.
  21. I converted all textures for Taxi2Gate' KMCO, LatinVFR's KMIA/TJSJ and it has definitely given me a good boost in performance. VAS usage also dropped considerably, so lowering texture sizes to 1024 definitely helps.
