  1. I was just able to pay via credit card and am currently downloading at a reasonable clip of 900kb/sec which is probably limited by the fact that i'm downloading it on my laptop on a saturated wireless connection. -stefan
  2. This time the engine fell off so it'll have to hit the ground soon. -stefan
  3. Because this is much funnier for everyone to watch? Relax a bit, it's just an addon plane. -stefan
  4. Thanks for sharing in a new thread! -stefan
  5. To be fair, if you weren't directly involved in any last minute changes/packaging/whatever, wouldn't you mess with this ridiculous herd of nerds as well? ;) -stefan
  6. now it's a blue image that says I Love PMDG -stefan edit: and back again to extremely short final
  7. It's not *quite* on the ground yet, got another foot or two to go. -stefan
  8. They were going to release it but then you posted this thread and they changed their mind. -stefan
  9. This plane has even lured JSkorna out of the hifi forum. Must be big! -stefan
  10. I had a v4 and now I have a v5. There's not really a noticeable difference, in my opinion. However, make absolutely sure that you get the Track Clip Pro. It makes an enormous difference, especially if you have anything at all reflective behind your chair. -stefan
  11. It's not a competing developer though, and people often post links and discuss various scenery programs. It's not generally a problem unless it seems like a marketing shill or something. I'm glad to know about it, at least. -stefan
  12. It's not that you're getting banned for stating contrary opinions so much as you're spouting unfounded nonsense. Perhaps you have inside info that nobody else has, or you have a hunch that'll be proved to be right. Until then, you're running around like chicken little. Just, take a step back and stop fearmongering before you get us to declare war or something.-stefan
  13. Let me know when the sky finishes falling.-stefan
  14. What if we have the joysticks disabled in FSX and use FSUIPC to handle all joysticks? I could explain what I mean in greater detail if you need.-stefan
  15. Yes, please count the number of overhead compartments. If the number of overhead compartments doesn't match, I'm not buying it.-stefan
  16. I'd try a different sort of technology. If you're getting angry about release dates, try technology such as a Glenkinchie 12 or a Cragganmore 14. I'm weird and like it with 2-3 cubes of ice. It'll mellow you right out.-stefan
  17. I use REX 2.0 for textures and ASE for the weather engine. I don't use DWC in ASE. Options I have in FSUIPC to help with wind smoothing and such, I don't remember offhand and I'm not in front of the PC, but I believe I have limited wind changes to 1 kt or direction of change for every 5 seconds (or is it 8? I forget.) It seems rather 'harsh' but it works amazingly well, and any faster changes will often overspeed or stall you when you're high altitude with a small flight envelope. I'd rather have my winds end up slightly inaccurate due to a slow change than have the plane do something annoying because of broken winds. I also limit temperature changes to something similar and barometric pressure as wel. ASE will sometimes send (probably because it gets from its sources) bogus temperature or pressure data, which can kill the plane as well. I'm not such a stickler for realism that I need 100% accurate weather at the expense of a functional flightsim. If anyone wants, I can check FSUIPC later and post my settings.-stefan
  18. I highly recommend registered FSUIPC. It helps a ton with wind shifts as well as a number of other useful things (I do all my yoke/throttle settings in FSUIPC and in fact have joysticks disabled in FSX.) Highly recommend it.-stefan
  19. Any of the ORBX stuff (regions before airports, but get at least one airport for your region(s) and the A2A Accusim Piper Cub. It's fantastic in every way.-stefan
  20. I've been looking to get a good regional jet simulator. I've got GA covered, and have the MD-11/747 to sort out long haul, and will have the 737 for relatively short/medium range flights after they fix the show stopping bug involving making hydraulic fluid flow at 0.37252356638cm/microsec rather than 0.3725333532 at a temperature of exactly 12.355232999028334C and so forth, however I'd like a good regional jet for the 30 minute to 1 hour flights. I have the JS41, and as it turns out I just am not a huge prop fan for anything that isn't my beloved accusim cub, lancair, or sr-22. Are there any good regional jets out there for purchase? I have an aversion to freeware, since in past experience, it tends to screw up the install. Bonus points for anything resembling PMDG fidelity/systems modeling. I just haven't been paying much attention to RJs lately. Thanks!-stefanedit: Oh jeez, I completely missed this thread, even though I checked: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/337523-qualtiy-small-comercial-aircraft/That pretty much answered my question, but feel free to debate in here as well I guess, unless someone decides to delete this.
  21. It's been stated multiple times that the HSD will be there.-stefan
  22. They're actually going to sell the plane for $15 USD but that'll be dry. Every time you fuel it up there will be a $0.001 per gallon charge.-stefan
