In the end I do not think FTX World is worth the money. I do beileve it is more hype than quality but please misunderstand me correctly when I say this as FTX do have some beutiful airports and designs. but in the end there is the fact that in every picture we see from this "wonderful package" is a maxed out FSX or P3D. That means that YOU in most cases will not get the same results on your computer. So most of you will try every tweak imagine and in plain frustration overclock your pc just to bearly maintain 25FPS in order to somewhat run this landclass togeather with i.e PMDG. That makes this product a pure eyecandy product as pr hardware definition anno 2013 So in my mind until the hardware levels out the product, I would continue to use Ground Environment for both FSX and P3D, low price, fps friendly.

We find vournabilities to tighten security, without such knowledge and ability to reverse engineer, we would not be able to prevent mailicious code or intent.

Both, still confused?

Keep in mind that this is just proof of concept, not yet a reality.

Microsoft - the great enigma? And it's continued failures.
tknudsen replied to a topic in Hangar Chat
As a programmer I could not agree more with the topic starter! In an company like Microsoft there are basic three things that can fail, one beeing management, two beeing economics and three beeing engeneering. I would imagine we can already eliminate economics beeing a week point, so that leaves us with engineering and management. I would argue that Microsoft do have the neccesary engineering capability within their company, so that would leaves us with management as the primary candidate for a weak point. So the question remains, could we blaim the departure of ACES and the Microsoft Flight Simulator era on other things than pure weak management Could we blame it on technology, market venue, market knowledge, corporate decitions based on weak management reports, the fact that Microsoft did not ever had a ability to develop a worth while graphic engine to sustain the life of the simulator? One can just imagine the resons, but i tend to lean into management in favour of the topic starter.. -

I cannot seem to get past Disk1 of my X-Plane 10 when installing on Linux Mint 14 Disk 1 installes perfectly, but when it says "put in disk 2 and wait for it to load, than press continue" nothing happens.. Anybody know what to do? -
Move to X-plane, better graphics, better physics engine and now with 64bit in beta, larger adress space.. PS Most 3rd party vendors are realizing XPX potential and developing more and more addons..

X-Plane 10 Multiplayer.....is it functional?
tknudsen replied to sbclark's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
Works like a charm -
As a previous assisting designer on GEX i know that Anthony has talked abut making GEX for X-Plane 10. What the result will be is not yet decided, but there is allways hope.. So the difference is large between fs and xp in regards to landclass/terrain texures, but in know for a fact that it is possible.

Open Streetmap and X-Plane 10
tknudsen replied to JonRD463's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
OSM scenery is made to make it more plausible, not more realistic. OSM is also based on a wiki type of collobration which means you have an unknown variable that any building is correctly placed on openstreetmap project. Ps.. Laminars philosophy: Make it as plausible as possible
