I agree with "monkey wings" KPBI was only sketched from an already old version of the airport. Yes most airports change but this version is a 2010 version.

My biggest problem with P3Dv6 is no with sim but windows 11 not allowing me to fly the Aerosoft Airbus (i know aerosoft!) So i down graded windows to 23H whatever worked for a while till my other parts of computer didn't. So down graded to P3Dv5.3 now everything seems to work. I reloaded Msfs 2024 and bought FSL A321 neo but the darn ui is so complicated to learn its almost as useless to me as P3Dv6 scenery but no planes MSFS 2024 scenery but no planes. Now with MS end of life policy on older op systems it will be a struggle. Actually just got locked out of MSFS 2024 by windows 11 defender. Sorry for the rant but feel much better. ( :

You might want to try FCScenery indirect purchase and the developer will email dwnload link. I believe that took care of Indiana. At least check it out

Lots of P3Dv4-5 addon's "work" but some seem to have exclusion problems with default scenery and some slight elevation issues. The big developers like Fly Tampa, FsDreamteam, LatinVFR, Imagine Sim (who did an update to V6 on KATL), Flight Beam etc. work without apparent issues. It seems that P3Dv6 allows for greater resolution at least I can see items at much greater distance than before. Also the sim is much smoother and seemingly more efficient while handling more detail. The main issue now is dawn to daylight and dusk till night transitions while these can be mitigated by the "live light adjustments" its still a pain, otherwise lighting is much improved . What's frustrating is there is only a few developers willing to make what appears to be "small adjustments". I have a separate scenery folder and inject the files via lorby and this works well.

I have many TFS 777 in my ai collection and no CTD with P3Dv3, i would go back into the data base and look for errors you may find the problem there imo :mellow:

Updated: Went very very well everything works, make sure all updates to 8.1 are loaded and all drivers updated, and if you use OrbX the TODO file is removed

Don't post anywhere often but I just flew KIAD flight beam to Kmco Taxi 2 with 85% ut2 commercial 10 general with active sky 12 and ftx global, on ground ave 30 fps in air locked at 60 ave 59 flying default 737-800 united repaint with the 787-8 upgrade panel. pc is a self built 2600k at 4.7 with 16 gb g skill ram evga 770gtx 4gb on a sabertooth p 67 this sim is very smooth and quirky in a good way like it almost learns from your last flight. just an impression. B the way using GEX and lax v2 and kjk v2 from FS Dreamteam and in their config my affinity mask was set at 255 by their program not me (I had at 15 prior to loading sceneries in sim). so some add ons do work when they are ready. thanks gregg

probably should upgrade your video card to one that supports shader (not sure what version) technology ti 4600 was a great card in its day i guess the problem you will have is finding an agp card. Shaders are used for wing flex and thats what your video card can't render. check http://www.zipzoomfly Short of that wait for the Vista and DX10 not sure how to disable wing flex maybe turn off special effectsI am sure someone else may have another opinion...good luckGregg D

i disagree out of the "box" the BETA2 at default settings has more autogen greater terrain detail more detailed airports more airports better atc tracking better clouds better water the list goes on than out of the box fs9 with default settings. the scalebility of the scenery acts as headroom for future more powerful machines.i was at the AVSIM convention and I believe MS made it clear that it was ready for continued periodic upgrades or patches starting in during the holidays preceded by the Vista dx10 etc. whether or not you buy FSX is your opinion and yours only so who cares but you will be missing neatest part of simming the developement and perfection of the sim!byeGregg DAMD 64 4800x2 2gb Corsair TwinX 7800gtx 256mb etc etc etc

many designers side stepped the fs9 fds shoe horning older gauges into fs9 (remember it was backward compatible too) the problem is the future! fs9 fds predicated this and advised against using these gauges. fsx will not allow these gauges and will give as many error messages as there are gauges at the very least back your orignal gauge file if you don't follow the opines in this thread gregg d

you might get higher top end numbers but the ideal is a steady fps so start unlimited save that setting then lower it 30 save lover it to 25 save etc. saving your cfg will let you pic and choose which seems best. if you get steady fps at 25 i think you would be in the upper 95% right now. be careful on light bloom and heavy water effects since these multiply the reloads of textures several times to produce effects gregg d

do your have windows pro sp2 (XP)? is so you can do a repair install but you need to google to get instructions. there is also a utility included in pro call sysprep which will allow you to lock your previous settings an add it to your new comp. i switched 939 mb going to a pci express from agp then bought the best least expensive video card on ebay. did that because of the new dx 10 card coming out. or you can run fsx with low settings until vista then upgrade at that pointGregg

Ok after posting I found that my sliders were set to low with no autogen, once this was corrected to what i indicated the default scenery from the ultralight was 35-46 fps. anyway i guess this shows the scalability of the sim even it its beta versionbye Gregg D

I did the same as you (7800 Gtx 256) plus I have since put the sim on its own drive sata 7200 with swaap file going to its own drive and flying the opening default flight was getting nearly 70 fps ave at dusk and was near 30 at jfk at night with the 737 sliders set as outlined by adam at the conference. before was 15-20 fps and 8-14 at jfk. go figure! 100 % default traffic 5% boats and cars home built AMD 4800 x 2 2 gb Corsair ram samsung hard drives....o-clocked 7800 gtx using coolbits otherwise stock using 91.47 drivers
