  1. I think Sky Force cloud structures could be used by ASCA in any case. I'm sure I set my P3D4 installation to work that way. Check the options in both. Once set up you don't need Sky Force running, so you have the best of both worlds. I've not done that for my current P3D5 installation yet but probably will. Pete
  2. If you assigned that button to PTT within P2A then FSUIPC has nothing to do with it. It is P2A which is reading your button presses. You wouldn't even assign anything to that button in FSUIPC. And in any case, you did say: If the PTT is showing green in P2A then of course it IS being detected! You can prove to yourself that it must be your microphone sound input which is wrong by pressing the PTT button on the P2A window directly, and holding it, using the mouse instead of the button. I sometimes find that the Windows sound input has disabled itself in the Windows sound settings and have to specifically re-enable it. If it is really just that P2A is not recognising your requests, try using the facility to test this in P2A. I find I have to do this occasionally in any case. One last thing to bear in mind it that the PTT needs pressing and holding for almost a second before you start speaking. Pete
  3. Google is your friend! 😉 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_aircraft_type_designators Mind you, though those are the official ones, listing 74T, 74X, 74Y, 74V for 747 freighters of different series, there's no guarantee that the aircraft models supplied for the sim have the correct ones defined in their Aircraft.CFG, so you do still need to check there. Pete
  4. It's one of the example Lua plug-ins in the ZIP so entitled which is installed with the documentation and other items for FSUIPC. Pete
  5. It's a Lua plug-in for FSUIPC4, FSUIPC5, FSUIPC6 or FSUIPC7. i.e. FSX, FSX-SE, P3D3, P3D4, P3D5 or MSFS. I don't know of any equivalent facility in X-Plane, but then I don't have XP so I wouldn't have investigated. Sorry. Pete
  6. Yes, provided it can read the BGLs. Some add-ons are being encrypted these days. Check the SceneryList.txt file which lists the layers being processed, or the first few pages of the log file "Runways.txt". You'll see that the base scenery is processed first, followed by the Official added airport scenery (Asobo qnd Microsoft primarily), and the Community addons last of all. Pete
  7. That's okay, and good. The gear (or full flaps) will be lowered before then, and the AI Freezer.lua plug-in freezes the taxi-out traffic then. There should be time for any Take-Off traffic to vacate the runway. By coincidence, John has just managed to get the AI Traffic status registered correctly by FSUIPC7, for MSFS. That data is needed for the plug-in to work correctly. Pete
  8. If you are running P2A with FSX or P3D you might find the AI Freezer lua plug-in supplied with FSUIPC useful. It freezes all AI traffic in "taxi out" status when you are on finals, and releases them when you've landed. Helps avoid go arounds due to runway encroachment but should let traffic already in "take-off" mode take off and clear the runway in time. Dave, is the distance from the runway when you do the go-around check adjustable? Or is it related to events on the aircraft, like gear down? Pete
  9. I use this facility with a Lua plug-in for FSUIPC (actually WideClient) to display the live scrolling conversation text, colour coded, on a small screen in my cockpit. The Lua plug-in for this is supplied in the Lua examples pack with FSUIPC ("AllTexts.lua" - instructions in file). A parameter has to be added to WideClient.INI (or FSUIPC INI) to ask it to monitor the conversation file and send it to the display plug-in. Pete
  10. You need to re-calibrate after setting REV. Please use the FSUIPC support forum for any further help. Pete
  11. Thanks. Email sent with a question about that. Pete
  12. Oh, that's useful, thanks! I've just downloaded VirginAtlantic Winter 2019-2020. that should be kay. It is version 3. Pete
  13. Ouch. I hadn't noticed Virgin was despoiled! Please could you send me an older one too? I've religiously been keeping up to date, not really noticing reductions for Summer 2020. I thought those schedules would have been published before the restrictions fell in April. Thanks Ray, Pete
  14. Well, you found it then. As described: "traffic density toggle control, which turns the AI traffic off (density = 0) if it is on, but if it is already off it turns it on, using the density value provided in the parameter or 100% if that is omitted or set zero." Pete
  15. My guess is that BG provides the Buildings and FL is a "flatten" (like an exclude but different?). And I think the added files in the World scenery folder are usually related to altitude or mesh adjustments. Pete
  16. For my views I assign buttons in FSUIPC to the keystrokes I assigned to those views in MSFS. For my custom views, yes, I stick to the default Ctrl+Alt+ num (0-9). All works fine. Pete
  17. Or maybe just take the joystick centering spring out? 🙂 Pete
  18. Yes, I have the UK add-on.. I think I also have an add-on adding loads of small airfields like farm strips. i wonder if that's interfering? I'll check. Thanks. Pete
  19. It would be far better if questions on how FSUIPC might affect performance were posted on the correct forum. However I do really need to correct some misunderstandings about what could be happening. Most of what FSUIPC is doing, most of the time, is passively receiving data from SimConnect. Most of what is might do actively is in separate threads, not the main threads used by the sim as far as possible. These activities include device polling, depending of course on your assignments, and obtains data on AI aircraft newly added. Activity in the main thread which may just possibly impinge upon performance is mainly that in responding to client application requests. So the only fair comparison regarding FSUIPC and no FSUIPC would be with no other programs running which use FSUIPC. (I notice, for example Radar Contact mentioned, quite a heavy user of FSUIPC that I remember, especially if you have any AI traffic). Pete
  20. I think those three lines are ALTERNATIVE values for the same parameter. ie reporting level 1 2 or 3. Only the first is probably recognised. At least this is the way most CFG and INI files work, certainly FSUIPC ones using standard Windows APIs. Pete
  21. Aha! That may well explain it! I never thought of that! Thanks. I've only been using the map to select the airport. I'll need to zoom right in! 😉 Meanwhile i managed to slew to an appropriate spot, selected cold & dark, and saved the flight. To make sure all was well I shut down MSFS and restarted it, then loaded the flight I'd saved, only for MSFS CTD as soon at it had finished loading it! 😞 Enough for today. Back to P3D for a bit of sanity! 😉 Pete
  22. Yes, tried that, but the Gate/Park selection reverts to the active runway immediately I select Save, so the loaded flight is then on the runway in any case. If the only way is to start on the runway then slew to the parking position, I'll do that for my default flight and save it there. But it will be a right royal pain having to do that at every airfield I might want to do a fresh flight from! I just assumed I must be doing something wrong, because MSFS seems not to be able to obey the Gate/Park selection at all. Yes, I did read that when I browsed the manual. thanks. Pete
  23. I've had MSFS since early Beta days, mainly to help John test the version of FSUIPC for it. However, apart from some brief test flights specifically to do that, i've not before considered using it for my real VFR flights using my GA28R cockpit (based on the Piper Arrow III. But now that the Just Flight Arrow is out, I'm wanting to try some decent VFR flights around the UK. With P3D5 on the same PC I have a default flight which loads me into a parked cold and dark situation at Sleap (EGCV), which is where I did my flight training (though in a Cessna 150 and 150A). But I just can't find a way even to set the aircraft to start at a parking position. With the EGCV selection I can choose "Gate/Park" but as soon as I save, or execute Fly Now, it changes back to the active runway. How do I stop that happening? Is the only way to let it start on the runway then slew it to the parking position? If so what is the point of listing Gate/Park in the "runway" selection list? After that I've got to work out how to make it "cold & dark", but that's more a matter of reading the manual for the Piper I suspect. Like the P3D version it seems quite comprehensive. Thanks for any ideas. Pete P.S. The system in my sig is not my VFR setup, but my normal ProSim-driven 738 cockpit.
  24. My install of P3D5 on a fully updated Win10 system runs quite happily without that D3D12onWin7 folder. I think that folder is only used if you do attempt to run P3D5 on a Win7 system. P3D5 will be detecting the Windows version on loading. it is quite simple, just one API call. It does need to 'try' different D3D DLLs. Pete
  25. Okay, fair enough. I'll see you over there some time soon then! 😉 Pete
