Buying a Carenado as a present
If it's any consolation, Ron, I've enquired about this very situation at several devs (here too, some months ago). Alas, nobody seems geared toward the notion, and my queries are always met with silence. Nuffink! Like you, I figure surely somebody can figure-out a nice, neat, orderly way of buying a gift aerodyne for a chum. So I've watched this thread with hopes that maybe somebody'd work something out. Sigh!

Problem with the B-25 manual
.I've been having the same problem (April 2010). I've tried several downloads of the HTML manual, but can't UN-Zip it. I get all manner of error messages, and nothing will extract -- yet all other Zips on the site extract normally. It appears that the BT_Manual.Zip file is somehow corrupted.Hope you can rectify soon! :( -Jon-------

problems with track !!!!
>Mr Robert S. Randazzo>Well well...what can I say except for ..You are a very rude>person and have no idea whatsoever about customer service or>for that matter how to read correctly....>SteveYou've just *gotta* be kidding me! Calling Robert "rude" is like calling Ghandi a war monger. And negative comments about his inability to read, coming from one who could use a few trenchant grammar lessons, only heighten the sense of overall hyperbole and petulance! *Sigh*!-Jon HoustonHalifax,NS,Canadahttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_pf.jpg

PMDG-747X -GE right wing shaking without any reason
>Several times I noticed after landing during taxi. Right wing>shaking without any reason . . . .I've had the same thing happen, on occasion, where the *right* (only) wing gets a severe case of the jitters, appearing as though it's trying to shake itself off. Only while taxiing after landing. Doesn't seem to be any reason for it, and it'll only happen occasionally. one question regarding resulotion in the future

Garmin for the 747-400x
Nice tip -- Many thanks. I've been sorta looking for a small moving-map display to occasionally assist with geographical awareness. This'll do nicely. One wee item of note: If taken literally, your instructions will not give the intended results until a "[Window21]" is included above "Background_Color=0,0,0".Cheers, Tim.-Jon HoustonHalifax,NS,Canadahttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_pf.jpg

747-400 Fuel Calculator
> . . . I am getting a File Corrupt message when I try to unzip this>file . . . .I had the same problem, when I tried to *directly* address the Zip file and try to un-zip it. But an "alternate" method made it work perfectly:With your file manager of choice (I use PowerDesk Pro 6), just click once on it in the left-hand column. This exposes the content in the right panel, of course. Then just drag the file out of the panel and drop it in a nearby location. You'll be asked for the PW, and all works well.Hope this helps.-Jon HoustonHalifax,NS,Canadahttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_pf.jpg

747X ND
As I see it, there's another possibility here to which perhaps you're referring. Try this:Assume your destination airport is JFK. Click on the "FIX" button on the FMC, and on the top line, enter "KJFK". On the next line down, enter "/10" (slash ten). And for the helluvit, on the next line, enter "/30".I use these resulting range circles around my dest AP as guides for how high and fast I want to be at these ranges, while on approach. But they can be placed around any location of your choosing. And, admittedly, they . . . do look kinda neat. :-)-Jon HoustonHalifax,NS,Canadahttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_pf.jpg
