MSFS tops Navigraph 2023 survey results
SAS443 replied to lwt1971's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Let's try moving images instead 😉 Skip to 1:15 mark to see the stationary Cessna rest on its portside wing. Like totally ignoring the heavy engine in the front. Is this correct water physics, @flying_carpet? -
MSFS tops Navigraph 2023 survey results
SAS443 replied to lwt1971's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I love correct water physics. it allows us to really do crazy stuff like balancing the wingtip like this and defy gravity altogether. You see, XP12 really, really wants to flip you around the roll axis, and when that behavior meets the sea bed, the cracks in the physics start to show. Obviously, this is not correct water physics. But we can agree it's better than MSFS at least . -
X-Plane shining in last navigraph-result
SAS443 replied to Franz007's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
The mud slinging on youtube/Reddit etc goes both ways. It's inevitable. No particular sim is immune. I had a mostly P3D centered YT channel before I started posting MSFS clips. For my initial msfs videos I had many comments implying that I was a beginner/noob/ less competent simmer, and these were mostly from P3D community, mind you. Different sims, same patterns. As predictable as sunrise in the morning. What sets XP apart from the others is mostly Austin himself. He is an original and his ideas and body of work will receive unfair criticism simply because internet keyboard warriors might not like Austin Meyer the person. This is something I have noticed in my twenty or so years using XP. -

The evolution of MSFS from 2020-to january 2024 is remarkable in itself - and quite frankly unprecedented. History is nice and all, but looking ahead, the roadmap of airliners alone (excluding GA, bizjets etc) is very exciting as well A220 (synaptic) A300b4 (Just Flight) A319/321 (Fenix) A330 (AS) A350 (ini) A380 (FBW+ini) B737 Max (pmdg) B747 (pmdg) B757 (bluebird) B767 (bluebird) B777 (pmdg) DC/KC-10 (Aerodynamics) F100 (JF) MD-11 (tfdi) In other words, Heavy iron MSFS users will have more than enough to deal with, even if some projects gets cancelled. -
What was the best / worst of MSFS in 2023
SAS443 replied to scotchegg's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Best WU15 with the new nordic TIN-areas and DEM update. Nothing comes close to that immersion. Add a VR headset and it's basically no point in heading out to my local airport and fly real planes.... Worst ground handling is still lol. -

And your assessment that MS/Asobo only has "money" and nothing more is not? What about the hundreds of talented programmer and artists behind this gigantic ecosystem? It's so difficult for some here to give one iota of credit to MSFS and the ideas and work that is required? It all makes sense now. Maybe you should've begun your post with this passage. -

iniBuilds A300-600 has been released! (reopened)
SAS443 replied to Hyper14's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Huh? The real A300 has no proper vnav climb AFAIK. It will happily blow through alt. Constraints. The same with the A310. Instead, guard constraints using FCU altitude window. -
Still no historical weather options for MSFS?
SAS443 replied to jjf's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Early morning /late afternoon VFR flying is a significantly different experience in summertime than being bounced around at noon in thermals and dodging those fair Weather CU's. -

He is still preaching the imminent failure of MSFS in the XP forum. 🥳 His post history is actually a gold mine. In these hard times with global recession and whatnot , we must not forget to laugh. And you'll get plenty of laughs reading his posts. I hope he never stops. -

Friend. If the simulators look like this at default. Then it's quite clear why Prepar3d is being the victim of user Exodus. Vs And as a rw vfr pilot, I' m not too bothered with desktop sims boasting about authentic FM...when I sit on a regular office chair and no force feedback yoke. I'm already disconnected from the airframe! so going from 80% "authentic" to even 95% probably won't even be noticed by me. Because garbage in data is too profound (garbage in = my sim setup).- 487 replies

iniBuilds A300-600 - Airliner Development Update 3

I'd say the differences are significant. but don't let that turn you away from the A300. It's a very rewarding machine to learn. -

Totally unnecessary skills for a scenery simulator aimed at Xbox crowd. What are they thinking. They should bring in Michael Bay instead so we can have moar special effects and dramatic scenery. + Fire balls. -

SAS443 replied to Hyper14's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
No, not when aircraft is on ground. The only way to engage ATS "THR" mode is to toggle the go-lever on the throttle quadrant, which for simming convenience also can be achieved via mouse push on the glareshield in the ini A300 (if I remember correctly) FYI, The ATS "arming" procedure is already accomplished during preflight when you arm ATS1 and ATS2 via switches on the overhead panel. (This can be rather confusing at first if you are used to Boeings I recon) -

SAS443 replied to Hyper14's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
@Hyper14 The A300 is not like the modern Airbus fleet with their detents. Instead, the Auto thrust system moves the physical levers. On ground at takeoff, ATS is engaged by toggle of either one of the two "Go-levers" - think of them as toga-buttons - computed TO thrust is then set by ATS before it declutches (THR annunciation changes from green to blue text). It's a very straightforward affair -

I own the XP version. (For XP11) That in itself is a fantastic airliner. From what I've seen on preview streams, this version for MSFS seems head and shoulders better (especially the FD and the sounds) -

MSFS: “A Loss Of Trust From Our Player Community"

Because - as it was noted in the report - the loads were not sufficient enough in order for the issue to be noticed. I sincerely recommend you to read the incident report. -
The BEAUTY MSFS has turned into || 737NG Driver
SAS443 replied to Krakin's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
+ Regular Stratus (st, also known as "fog clouds") Those you usually see in wintertimes due to snow covered and cold surface making it impossible for convective clouds to form, at least around here at 60degrees north Depicted alright in MSFS if you create a large spread, thin cloud layer. -
It's the same for me aswell. Flying low VFR over southern Scandinavia and the new TIN areas, I can't believe we have this visual complexity/fidelity/immersion, and I can run it on 4K with my ancient 9900K/2080ti -(I'm even a dx12 convert now) Just crazy.

not sure. Soundbases package was very slow downloading for me aswell in the last beta build some days ago..The rest of the packages went smoothly, Seemed like they were on totally different CDNs
