  1. Hi All, I just wanted to let you know that following a period of enforced neglect, my MSFS Gateway website has been updated. It offers categorised links to hundreds of FSX, P3D and MSFS related websites. Let me know if any of your favourites are missing. I hope you find the MSFS Gateway useful. Tony www.msfsgateway.com
  2. Hello everyone, my MSFS Gateway website that lists hundreds of MSFS and P3D-related links sorted into categories, (e.g. aircraft, flight planning, scenery and many others) has been serving the flight sim community for 20 years and is still regularly updated. I hope you find it useful. Feedback and suggested additions are always welcome. Tony https://www.msfsgateway.com/
  3. There are links to some useful resources on the Tutorials page of the MSFS Gateway... www.msfsgateway.com/tutorials.html
  4. Hello Just popped in to say that my MSFS Gateway that has been serving the Microsoft flightsim community for almost 20 years has just been overhauled and updated to a more mobile-friendly version. I hope you find it a useful resource, and if any of your favourite sites are not listed please let me know. Regards Tony www.msfsgateway.com
  5. Dylan M - my hero! Thank you so much for finding and announcing this fix. I've been trying to install Windows 10 for three days and have tried so many other suggestions - all without success. This fix worked at first attempt. Amazing how a tiny, well buried, 0Kb, Orbx file can completely halt the mighty Windows 10 upgrade - I can still hardly belive it. Tony www.msfsgateway.com PS I've added a notice and link to this thread from there...
  6. Yes, suggested additions welcomed. Best to email any to: tony.smith[AT]msfsgateway.com Tony www.msfsgateway.com

  9. I agree with those praising FlusiFix and also extend my thanks to Wolfgang. I've been using it for years and recommend it. Its neat graphical interface makes it the easiest, and probably the safest, way to make a large number of tweaks and corrections. Each tweak is described, and it is easy to reverse each tweak too. I'm pleased it continues to work under Windows 8. Tony www.msfsgateway.com
  10. I've only just started to try SweetFX, so no expert, but this may help. Happy to be corrected. 1. Under Windows 8 I can only get it to work with FSX in DX10 Preview mode so far. 2. Make sure that in FSX the "Scroll Lock" key is not assigned to something else under Controls. If it is change or delete the assignment. 3. "Scroll Lock" will then switch SweetFX effects on and off. It starts "on" as the default. 4. To apply a SweetFX change click on the PC's "Pause/Break" key. (Not "P" for FSX pause). There is a graphical interface available for SweetFX that makes making changes much easier. Find it here: http://sweetfx.thelazy.net/ I downloaded the standalone version (scroll down the page a bit) and just unzipped its contents into the designated SweetFX Configurator folder and sub-folders. These can be placed anywher on your PC. You then start the configurator, set it up to find your main FSX folder and it will import the necessary SweetFX files into the FSX folder (you can add other games too). I make and test SweetFX changes with FSX in Window mode using the configurator. If you have more than one monitor I think you have to have both the FSX window and the configurator windows on the same monitor. Tony www.msfsgateway.com

  20. The temporary fix (see quote from their forum below) is to use the database creation file from the previous (4.0.4) release candidate."Yes, fortunately the SFP404 version is still on AVSIM. It is necessary to grab the sfpdbwiz.exe file from your SFP404 installation, and to put it into and on top of the file of the same name in your SFP405 install folder, in order to get SPF5 to work. I'm really grateful for the person who figured this out!"The SFP web site and forum is at:www.cpinf.com/Tonywww.msfsgateway.com
