  1. Did you have to rename any of those *.db to *.new ?, I read that once, but can't find anything on the forum. thank for pointing me in the right direction
  2. Hi there, Can someone that has UT2 that has done a successful backup and re-install point me in the right direction to a step by step procedure to backup and restore UT2 so I don't lose about 50 hours of assigning aircraft and repaints as well as schedule mods made using power pack. Yes, I am a Licensed owner, I have a new topic posted in the support forum my ID is michelair, Okay, hard to believe that there in nothing in the Flight1 UT2 manuals or a Sticky in there forums on this. Yes, there are a lot of posts stating Re-install help, and some small answers to questions, but there is no step by step procedure on this.. So can someone help me out here,
  3. This is a great FSX addon, alittle tricky to setup in network Mode, but well worth it. Thanks for the heads up. Always fun to save a few bucks on a add-on that really bring FSX to a new level. Must have software you are using FSX as a learning tool.
  4. This is to be expected, just think of the 10's of thousands of possible new customers world wide by Dovetail releasing there FSX:SE on Steam. This might bring about a new customer base that may want the hard copies of FSX, simple supply and demand at play. It will be interesting to see how long box prices will stay high. My nephew alone said several of his friends bought FSX:SE. Before the release they hadn't even thought about buying FSX in the box. This Steam release by Dovetail will be interesting, especially how 3rd party developers will handle making their products compatible on the Steam Platform. Then the question will be the pricing structure, I am wondering what price will 3rd party developers will sell their add-ons on Steam. I am sure it will be about numbers sold, if you have a customer base in the 100,000 or more which Steam easily has, you can only imagine. Question is what is the price point were Steam players will pay for this type of simulation. That price will be the big question for 2015. My prediction if Steam does this right and promotes FSX:SE as a entertainment platform; a learning platform to introduce Steam Customers that FSX:SE can be a stepping stone to promote real life flight simulations, it well be good for our hobby. But if they promote it as just "A Game", I am not sure it will be a success. Anyone else agree?
  5. Well, if finally got tried of flying a desk, so I started to do some research about a month ago, and started my 737NG Flight deck project. Thus had to open the wallet and buy the following. Go-flight had a great sale this year, and FSpilotshop as well. GF-MCP-PRO GF-EFIS 2 refurbished 19" Dell Monitors from Dell 1 refurbished 15" Dell Monitors from Dell all materials to cut design and Build Flight deck using plans from markuspilot.com Ordered Electronics from Leo Bodnar in the UK. Oh, software bought KDEN and ASN, going to buy some orbx scenery as well. Looking to buy MIP panel & gauges for the 737 so if anybody has them for sale let me know. Happy Holidays to all... Whoops all most forgot I happen to get up early on cyber Monday and got a email from NEWEGG they had a Cyber Monday sale of ACERS New B326hul... 2560x1440 , and wow 32" of screen for $379.00.. What a fun monitor for FSX.
  6. I agree $15.00 for a fsx/P3D Metro is a great deal...! Thanks for the tip...
  7. Yeap, I guess its time to jump on Steam, talk about people getting excited about FSX, nice to see that especially when the steam servers say there is a 1000 people playing FSX at once... Good sign.. for all J.
  8. Update. Seller, says he will refund Monies.... Lesson Learned....
  9. I saw he had great feedback, I hoping I am wrong about this but nothing in the box has anything to do with the cockpit builders edition. :-)
  10. Yes, I registered The key with the Flight1 forum and it said successful but I think its a IFLY737 for FSX Key. Ubersu at Flight1 replied that they don't support third party transactions. So my disk says Ifly737NG Flight Simultor X Edition, but the second disk is Missing. But I have the Dual FLIGHT1 Plastic Box that has the Flight1 Cockpit builders edition ify737NG Pro, here is the URL for the ebay auction. http://www.ebay.com/itm/iFly-737NG-Pro-/231396733774 looks like I got scammed.... He sold it as New never used..... Yes, I am alittle hot.
  11. Just left Flight1 a message in their support forum, in the meantime can any Ifly Cockpit builders out there answer my question? what came inside the Flight1 box?
  12. Yes, it has just the ifly 737ng for FSX CD, It came with the Flight1 stating Ifly737Pro NG Cockpit builders edition. in his listing he stated that he never registered it or installed it due to lack of time and funds to complete flight deck. He had for 300 positive feedbacks with no negative.... I will email flight1 to see if serial was registered, but can you answer my first question how many disks does it ship with? thanks John
  13. I think I have just been scammed, I bought the Flight1 Cockpit Builders edition software from a guy in the U.K. on ebay. but I only got 1 Disk? with the Flight1 CD holder, can someone please tell me how many disks that the iflyPro NG cockpit Builders edition has.? ASAP Thank you. John...
  14. Good news, always like to hear that software developers are making there product better, to many FSX third party developers create a program,.. promote it,... sell it,... and then forget it, before you know it they are on to another project. So if you are considering a ATC program, they have a trail evaluation go try it out.
  15. ASN holds the standard, other weather engines are good but ASN is the leader, hopefully others will strive to out do them. That's better for us simmers... :-)
  16. After a few days of Flying in and out of KDEN it was a good buy, having DIA out of town does help FPS unlike other airports next to large cities... If you are on the fence on this one time to get off... :-)
  17. Thank you Flightbeam, same sale as last year, Just bought KDEN what a great deal. $22.10... Happy Landings... :-)
  18. Just wanted to let my fellow avsim friends know that SimMarket has ASN SP1 on sale. 20% off. 29.59 EURO = $35.99 USD Not sure how long it will be on sale. Happy Flying
  19. I agree with Jim, usually this happens when system resources are failing to manage your current setup, thus causing a reset while your FSX is running. Make sure you have all the updated drivers for your system, you might want to activate your Windows system resource monitor so you can actually see what is going on with your system when it happens, look at your administrator error logs as well to pin point what is actually causing the issues. Good luck.
  20. After 20 years learning, and after all the mod's and FSX tweaks the idea of loading up FSX with a lot of add-on's creates poor FPS. Bottom line only add-on the basic stuff you need. I see a lot of people have 500MB to a Gig of files in their fsx directory. this = bad even if you have a SSD drive. You don't have to be a programmer to realize that FSX struggles with the way to complies the simulation during the game.. This is the main reason all of us want a 64 bit platform sim. Read Kostas FSX manual, keeps add-ons to a min. AI traffic to a min as well. I have a 3790x Intel chip and I still struggle with FPS. Network your WEATHER, ATC and EFB on another machine to help take the load off the CPU. remember using HD textures in FSX environment takes FPS hits as well... Oh if you have the knowledge and put a good water cooler system in your machine. You might overclock your baby to 5.0ghz, you will see a lot of gain, but I don't advise that in less you know what you are doing. Oh, forget using directx 10. its buggy period.... oh, the Nvidia tweaks are a must, search the Avsim forums about what the PMDG folks have to say about the Nvidia settings they have it down to a art. Hope that helps as well...
  21. Good read, I like the way you outlined your thread, as a reader I enjoyed reading.....
