Fast GA payware?
I have fallen in love with X-Aviations BA Jetstream 32. It can be fast when you want to fly far and is slow and well behaved for the sight seeing. I also feel there is just the right amount of systems to keep you interested when flying cross country but not so much that you spend more time setting up than flying! Also there are subtle features that keep amazing me, I have had the windows fog up when I didn't turn the demister on and last night I saw ice on the prop spinners and had to deice them! To answer your questions: 1. Yes, I run it in 64bit 2. Yes, radios (and all controls) can be tuned by dragging the mouse 3. Yes, it has a transponder. And a randomly chosen Video of it....

How Do I know If I'm Running 64bit
In my installation X-Plane.exe in the 64bit version and X-Plane-32bit.exe is the 32bit. Both are in the root of your installation. Both are installed with the installer. I also agree with JonRD463 in regards to having a stable version as well as a beta.

Laminar Research, Creators of X-Plane, Are Being Sued for Patent Infringement
Donated $50 to the cause. I have a lot of respect for Austin, he has come a far way with a bit of brains and a lot of work. And anything to stop a patent troll.

When will the X-Plane 10 64 bit be out? And does that mean that I can't use X-Plane 10 on a 64 bit yet? Thanks!
XPX 64bit is expected with Version 10.20. There is no EDA for this yet. You can certainly run the current version on a 64bit operating system. I am running X-Plane 10.10RC1 on Windows 7 64bit.

UPDATED: PMDG Releases Statement Regarding EULAs for P3D---->Avsim article
A valid point, but with the EULA conversation at the moment, I think there are a few people who would like to use P3D for recreational purposes. It make the third party providers life easier too.

Yes, Active Sky 2012 gives me the real weather. I was just mentioning that I was surprised that you don't get real weather built into P3D.

UPDATED: PMDG Releases Statement Regarding EULAs for P3D---->Avsim article
I use P3d exclusively to get my Microsoft FS fix. (I also regularly fly XP10) On my rig I get very much the same FPS and graphics but it feels a lot smoother than FSX. I know it is a very objective measure but I think the difference is so good that I can live without my RealityXP GPS'. The RealityXP guages are pretty much the only addon that I can not get working in P3D. P3D also doesn't appear to have real time weather built in but I use Active Sky 2012.

Is x-plane 10 worth it?
Just to be picky, the F-27 quoted actually does have a 3-d panel.

Realair Turbine Duke Awesome!
Nice one, Hawk! A bit garish for my liking, but looks awesome.

Realair Turbine Duke Awesome!
Sorry Jas, already started in Canada, flown down through Japan, around Australia and NZ, up through India to Moscow, down through Saudi and now over in South Africa. Found some flight plans about a year ago and working my way through them.

Realair Turbine Duke Awesome!
I love my Turbine Duke so much, I have embarked on a round the world tour with it. I have also build a physical panel for the start-up switches on the left.

My FSX and Windows 7 64 bit...
With a Windows 64bit Operating System, my two cents worth is always place FSX on 'DriveLetter:\Program Files (x86)', preferably on another drive obviously! Placing it in this folder allows the OS to know and optimize a 32bit application. Here is a link explaining it: http://www.samlogic.net/articles/32-64-bit-windows-folder-x86-syswow64.htm

Avionics Modeling in X-Plane v10
I have been a fan of X-Plane since version 7 but still fly Microsoft. It has been a bit 'horses for courses' for me, MSFS for graphics, AI and ATC but X-Plane for the pure 'feel' of hand flying. I agree X-Plane 10 has a long way to go for the ATC component but it is getting there. P.S. I get my MSFS fix from Prepar3d these days, it feels more like FSX with some performance patches but for sheer fluidity, it is worth the academic license! I can fly with FPS as low at 15 fps and it is still as smooth as silk.
