March 19, 201313 yr I want to get my first XP10 x64 payware plane. I can't decide if I want something with IFR capabilities or just a VFR. Also for my first plane I'm a little afraid to spend more than $30... If I forget about IFR certified... I'm looking at the blackshape prime. My questions: 1) Is it working with x64 bit? 2) How do the radios tune? Can you use the mouse hold and drag feature or is it the terrible (default) option where I have to find the miniscule clickspot and hold down the mouse button? 3) I can't see from the videos or pics... is there a transponder? If we go back to IFR certified... I'm thinking the Carenado C337 (which I have and love in FSX), the Beech Duchess (looks good and speedy except the HSI is in an odd spot), F8L Falco (this seems like an older release does it work in XP10 and is it 64bit capable?), the Columbia (Corvalis) and Mentor are my kind of fast planes but they, too, appear dated and the G1000 in the Corvalis probably isn't very systems deep?? What do the experts recommend for a fast GA? Fast = cruises above 150 ktas below 10,000 ft. I see a lot of cool planes at X-Aviation. Are there any other sites with high quality addons? (I want them to look better than stock if I'm paying for them) p.s. Planes having an autopilot would be helpful... I do a lot of online flying... and sometimes I have to "step away" from the cockpit briefly. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

March 21, 201313 yr The only payware I currently own on X-Plane are the Ramzzess 777 Worldliner and A320 NEO by JARDesign which are tubeliners. I do plan on getting GA payware though and it will most likely be the Carenado M20J which is fairly speedy. I currently have that one on FSX and haven't really flown it as much as I'd like, I seem to enjoy GA flying more in X-Plane though. EDIT: I just checked their website and it doesn't officially support XPX even though I've read reports that it seems to work fine so might not work on x64. Michael R
March 21, 201313 yr I highly recommend the (LES) Duchess from X-aviation. Also good is the Carenado 337. Anything from Jason Chandler is excellent, (Flight model wise) but don't expect a high pollygon model. His planes fly fantastic, they just look like FS2000. Rob
March 21, 201313 yr I have fallen in love with X-Aviations BA Jetstream 32. It can be fast when you want to fly far and is slow and well behaved for the sight seeing. I also feel there is just the right amount of systems to keep you interested when flying cross country but not so much that you spend more time setting up than flying! Also there are subtle features that keep amazing me, I have had the windows fog up when I didn't turn the demister on and last night I saw ice on the prop spinners and had to deice them! To answer your questions: 1. Yes, I run it in 64bit 2. Yes, radios (and all controls) can be tuned by dragging the mouse 3. Yes, it has a transponder. And a randomly chosen Video of it....
March 21, 201313 yr Jason Chandler is excellentI'll second that and also would add that all work fine in 64-bit Javier Rollon's Jetstream 32 is my favorite, its such a fine aircraft and worth every penny and like rsexton pointed out in his post, its got the right amount of systems to keep you busy the whole flight. The only thing I'm waiting for is the 64-bit ver of the JS32 check list, this will be the cherry_on_the_cake for me. March 21, 201313 yr I too, am awaiting the 64bit checklister! The last of my regularly used plugins to be updated.
March 21, 201313 yr +1 for the LE Duchess. Not as sassy as Carenado but very very nice, quality thru and thru. As far as I remember the controls are relatively painless for an XP plane. I need to double-check and give her a spin!

March 21, 201313 yr I wonder when the patches for the Carenado aircraft I purchased over 165 months ago will be coming-they still have the disclaimer: ***WARNING: This aircraft was NOT developed for X-Plane 10. It works in that platform, but it doesn t take advantage of all the new features. We will provide a patch in the future which will make it 100% compatible. They were the aicraft I enjoyed pre 64 bit... Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
March 21, 201313 yr Beech Mentor (http://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/beechcraft-mentor-t34c-p-60.html) is fast, has autopilot and works in 64bit... Jan Betlach
March 22, 201313 yr I almost bought the JS32 when I realized it's manual had some warnings about setting some axes off so it doesn't mess with the Autopilot. It was late that day and didn't want to read anymore, but haven't gotten it because of that. I really truly would love to get that for the 64bit too...how much of what I am saying is incorrect and I have misread because I was hungry or sleepy? That use buttons for changes really got me...I should go and read again, but users' experienced advice will certainly help me. Cheers!!
