He was referring to the made up website that I wrote in my comment. Not sure if you were connecting the lines to a possible LOD change or if you meant that only with performance but I would not expect LOD settings to effect lines on a runway. If you are seeing this at shallow angles such as on the runway or on approach then I would check and reset your anisotropic filtering settings. A couple of MSFS update had messed these up for me in the past creating this very problem and I have had to turn them off in the driver and back on again and restart the sim a few times.

I don't think that complaining that the download speed of an update is 0 Mbit/s and pointing out that something is wrong and requiring continual restarts of the program to get it to move at all is obsessing over it. Neither is it particularly strange to find the users of said software complaining about it and entertaining one another whilst they wait for it to be fixed on a forum dedicated to said software. If this place were named www. downloadfetish .com I suppose I might agree with you, though. 😉 (I hope that's not a real website. Although nothing would surprise me these days). As an aside. Many of us with liquid cooled machines never leave them alone when they are on which means when an update goes wrong like that we are stuck here waiting for it to finish. Yes, you can pause it and start it later but that isn't ideal either. So we come here and either try to figure out a solution or just have a bit of a laugh because the TV is unwatchable these days.

I have seen the claim it's due to lack of VRAM as well but I can't see how. My card has 16 GB of the stuff and it happens when it's using a little over 8 in the middle of nowhere.

I have seen people claim that this only happens when you switch to external view but It's not true. I never ever leave the cockpit view and it happens every time. Sometimes from the moment I start the sim, sometimes it takes a minute, sometimes it takes 4 or 5 but happen it will. I have no idea what exactly the trigger is but it isn't switching views.

Well, I just did a short flight to see the sunset and it looked much better. Somehow everything looked sharper. Not sure why. Also, have they improved the road lighting? It looked better to me. Perhaps it's all a result of the atmospheric changes but so far I'm very pleased. It all looked so much more natural. Flight sim never looked so good, I must say.

It just pauses itself. You can see it stop and a little pause symbol appears. The only way to start it again is to pause it manually and shut it down and start it again. My worry is this install is going to be a total mess. I can see it coming.

What I want to know is how come I have downloaded about 3Gb of fs-base-soundbanks when that folder is only 500mb's big.

That's the problem, I'm afraid. Lemon drops are nice and edible and you have to scare it with something intolerable such as these hideous jelly beans. Gmail seems confused at the prospect of me attaching these vile things to an email. Not sure I can help. Shame, I really want rid.

I got all thw way to 41% before it sent me back to 39%.........I got to 48% before it sent me back to 44%....now I'm back to 47%. It's like a rubbish game of snakes and ladders. Unacceptable.
