  1. I forgot about that stinker. That made me put the sim and all the gear away for a couple months.
  2. Best: 1. A2A Comanche 2. Accuseasons Advanced 3. Improved atmospheric lighting There is no going back from all 3 of those things for me. Worst: 1. DX12 airport ground texture vanishing bug. It's still there. STILL! And it's still preventing me from using DX12 2. Ground handling. Some developers work around this better than others but there always seems to be a compromise somewhere. For Instance, PMDG nails it up until 10Kts when it just seems to cease to function almost at all and FSR500 works beautifully once moving but something very funky happening when just getting rolling. And then there are the transitions from ground to air and vice versa. MSFS ground handling is an immersion killing mess. 3. The stars at night. These are unnaceptable in a sim of this fidelity. Some of them are such large blurry blobs that they can be confused for the moon at times.
  3. First I have heard of it but the fact they thought they were going to get away with that is astonishing to me. Though, it probably shouldn't be.
  4. Sounds to me as though they should be paying you.
  5. Yes, I thought it was something different and after looking at the pic I had seen someone here post the very same thing quite some time ago. Perhaps it was even El Diablito above but I can't remember that far back. Pleased you got it fixed.
  6. Hmmm, sounds to me like this is an entirely different issue to what any of us thought. It doesn't sound like either the DX 12 vanishing airport texture bug nor does it sound like the texture swapping bug but we really need to see pictures, I'm afraid. You need to upload them to an image hosting website and then link them, I think.
  7. This is exactly what I mean by conflating issues. Until we see a picture I can't tell which issue he has. There is an issue that affects airports textures alone when using DX12 and there is an issue that affects all scenery, irrelevant which DX version and causes tile swapping. They're not the same.
  8. Having had to do a reinstall of Windows recently I can understand why. I was very pleased that I did not have to go through the time waste of assigning all my controller inputs again. That said, instead it decided to throw another issue regarding controllers that I had not seen before.
  9. Could you post a screen shot of this? This is one of those things that could cause several issues to end up being conflated.
  10. I can't give you certainties, buddy and neither will anyone else here. If you want those then you should reach out to both developers and ask them directly. I know from personal experience that the PMS developer is always on Discord and has always answered my queeries within minutes. I can only say that in myself I'm so confident that what you worry about is a non-issue that it doesn't worry me in the slightest.
  11. Ahh, well there you are. Glad you've gotten to the bottom of it.
  12. When this happened to me it was because I had inadvertently triggered active pause without realising it. Other possible causes are controller binding conflicts. Are you sure that parking brake is off? Are you sure that there is not another axis assigned to toe brakes that are not your pedals etc.
  13. So pleased to read that. My absolute number one grumble about this sim and many aircraft....... ludicrous pitch control. Worst offender in my hanger? FSR500. The settings and curves I have had to put in to get that flyable is bonkers. I have had to elimininate almost all travel with an extremity dead-zone AND put in "sensitivity" curves and it's still comically twitchy. And even with that I still find it such and unpleasant pitch control experience that it's parked in the hanger until it's made sensible. Can anyone tell me if the aileron axis on this Lear is actually linear unlike the asobo default and many other payware aircraft? Few deveopers seem to fix this incorrect behaviour. The 414 had the problem as well and then one day I raised the issue with the developer who after taking the time to understand what I was saying and being such a clever chap he quickly found a solution and fixed it so that it was actually linear. Given this is the same developer I suspect that it is already correct or if not yet then will be corrected. I don't quite remember what he said it was but it was something along the lines of there being a hidden or misnamed control in the sim that should be used. I've utterly butchered the truth of that, I'm certain, but I wish more developers knew of it and fixed it. The only aircraft I own that has the correct linear behaviour in this regard are the Flysimware 414, PMDG 737 and the A2A Comanche. I have never checked the fenix but wouldn't be surprised if that did. The fact that the controls of the sim are set up in this non-linear fashion by default is beyond absurd to me. If the intention was that it was designed so that people with controllers can have more control due to limited movement of the sticks then fine but those of us with actual yokes and joysticks shouldn't have to put up with this nonsense and there should be a control selection that removes this linearity curve for the user. We shouldn't have to rely on developers stumbling on the secret of how to fix this or users nagging developers to find the fix.
  14. What is the sim really doing I wonder? Load a plane with avionics that gives you wind data and have a look.
  15. I think "ported" is the wrong word. Updated feels more accurate. Things that work in this sim should work in that one. If not, I suspect it will require an update as things often do when the sim is updated currently. Honestly, the only products I don't expect to work in 2024 are the ones developers have abandoned and will therefore not get the usual updates. I don't believe you need to worry about either of these in the next sim. I wouldn't.
  16. I wonder if you keep asking him if you will get the block as well. If he does decide to tell you, would you be kind enough to share the info with me because I'd really like to know. Genuinely. At the moment though, I'm beginning to wonder if there really are any. I'm not sure what else I can conclude from that encounter.
  17. Well there's a surprise. F1 driver levels of chicanery.
  18. 🤨 Still won't tell me. Is there a secret handshake or something? Or is it just some sort of axe grinding? I've asked you a specifc question and had everything but an answer. Honestly not sure what to think anymore.
  19. I don't think anyone has tried to twist anything and I don't think anyone has a problem with it or has argued with it. I was the first person to reply in this thread and made clear which is the most accurate. Given that the thread is titled 'Which GTN' it would be handy, not just for the OP but for any future viewers of it, to have all pros and cons of both which brings me to my next point. What I find bizarre is making statements such as: "it’s a unit that looks like a GTN and is a catchall for every feature people suggested to the developer." And then when asked to list these features for people like me that do not know what they are you instead proceded to behave evasively and refused to share. I'm still none the wiser as to what these features are and so will any future reader be. If anyone else would care to clue me in on what they are I would be grateful. Or is that just someone twisting and argument to make themselves look superior? I'll be honest, I didn't even know there was an argument going on in this thread until now. But there we are.
  20. There was a weird pronunciation I heard the last time I tried it and it made me laugh out loud but I can't for the life of remember what it was. It also has an interesting habbit of stiching two words together as though they are one which can confuse for a second. When this happens it seems to be in tandem with a tone drop on the second word which makes it sound as though the AI has put one leg into 3 foot hole it didn't see coming. All quite funny, really.
  21. You've clearly never been to Ireland. 😉
  22. Why don't you go and read all my posts in the thread from the start 🙄
  23. You're right about ATC not being very good though. Altough it's getting better. However, I don't use it because I still don't think it's good enough. That and bringing up the ATC window causes a stutter than shouldn't be there.
