  1. The iPhone on it's own apparently still generates more sales revenue than ALL of Microsofts products combined. http://www.forbes.com/sites/timworstall/2012/08/19/apples-iphone-is-now-worth-more-than-all-of-microsoft/
  2. All the way back in 1982, when Microsoft purchased a programme that Bruce had developed for several processors, including the Apple II, - & the rest as they say, is history.

nVidia Inspector is for nVidia cards only. However, there is an AMD equivalent available, although I'm not sure what it's called. Maybe somebody else will chip in with it's name ... ... ^_^
  4. I have a GTX 560Ti 1mb paired with an i7/960 & most of the time it sticks around my (locked) 30 fps. FPS slows down in heavy weather (using REX 2), but then that's only to be expected. Yes, it's not "cutting edge" - but it's still a damn good card!
  5. In my mind I just can't equate "Bush Plane" with "Glass Cockpit"!! ^_^
  6. Surprised that nobody has mentioned the superb Aerosoft DHC2 Beaver yet. Floats, wheels, tundra tyres, amphib, skis - a great looking model of an aircraft that can get in & out of just about anywhere.
  7. As Gavin says, download that tweaking guide & apply the changes within it. Once you've done that, I'd recommend switching to DX10 - looks better & appears to generate some extra FPS. Good luck - let us know how you get on!
  8. When A2A start porting their aircraft to X-Plane, I may consider changing platforms, but not before. I have a lot of scenery, aircraft, & other add-ons for FSX, and following the latest advice on tweaking the config files plus using DX10 I now have a simulator that looks good & performs well under all conditions except heavy weather. Yes, it doesn't take full advantage of either multi-core cpus or generous amounts of memory, but given those restrictions, it is still one damn good flight simulator! ^_^
  9. It has been generally accepted for quite a while now that intel processors are superior to AMD ones for running FSX. Get the fastest one that you can afford - add Win 7/64 & you've got a good platform to work with for FSX.
  10. Nice video - but I'm slightly concerned that the T38 chase plane at the end is apparently having to use full right rudder in order to stay alongside the B737!!
  11. Wonder why the FMS app is only for Android? Hope they bring an iOS version out soon!!
  12. Glad to hear this news - if the "general approach" is the same as the DCS P51D then this is one release that I'm really looking forward to!!
  13. Went to the original post, had Google translate it from Russian & this was one of the sentences that it came up with: Hike on our street turn over a truck with gingerbread Nearly fell out of the cockpit laughing!! Still, if we are going to get a WWII / Korea sim with the DCS level of detail & accuracy, well worth waiting for!
  14. Yes, got all of the patches - but like you, transparent & missing textures.
  15. Taken from the Just Flight website - I just Googled "Ultimate Traffic 2" A huge range of aircraft Boeing 727, Boeing 737-700, Boeing 737-200, Fokker 100, BAe 146, Airbus 310, Airbus 319, Airbus 320, Airbus 321, Airbus 330, Airbus 340, Boeing 707, Boeing 737-300, Boeing 737-400, Boeing 737-500, Boeing 737-600, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737-900, Boeing 747-300, Boeing 747-400, Boeing 757-200, Boeing 767-200, Boeing 767-300, Boeing 767-400, Boeing 777-200, Boeing 777-300, Airbus 300, ATR 42, ATR 72, BAe ATP, Beech 1900, Canadair Regional Jet, McDonnell Douglas DC-10, Dash 8-200, Dash 8-300, Dash 8-400, Fokker 50, Fokker 70, McDonnell Douglas MD-11, McDonnell Douglas MD-80, Saab 340
  16. Oops! Followed the link from the front page - guess I should have had my reading glasses on!!
  17. Eh, I don't think so. It would take A LOT more than that to make me go back to FSX. As far as I'm aware there is nothing with the accuracy & fidelity of A2A's aircraft currently available in either XPX or P3D. When there is, I'll consider changing platforms - until then, FSX with A2A, DX10, & SweetFX, plus Orbx's Alaska scenery keep me in the air. Each to their own ... ... ...
  18. Sounds good - hope it's out soon as I'm missing flying the old Chippy (DeHavilland Canada Chipmunk for anybody below the age of 30. Alright, 40!!) ^_^
  19. Just re-read the guide & found mention of "Add on Converter X". Downloaded the demo, & now got missing or transparent textures - plus no VC. ??
  20. I have been running DX10 for a while now (following the advice in the indispensible Guide) & am perfectly happy with the look & performance. However, when I try to bring some of my freeware FSX aircraft in, they are showing without any textures. I have tried converting all of the files from .BMP to .DDS & modifying the config files accordingly, but to no avail. I am using WIN 7 / 64 with an Nvidia Geforce 560ti, running 320.18 drivers. Am I missing something obvious here, or do I simply have to accept the fact that using DX10 means that I have to sacrifice some older aircraft? TIA for any help & guidance!! :Praying:
  21. DX10 with SweetFX 1.4. Looks good & runs smoothly with no problems - so far!! ^_^
  22. A quote from A2A on their forums regarding the possibility of a DC3: We have discussed it in passing amongst the team, but right now its all systems go on the already announced projects. The GA stuff being developed/in testing at the moment is priority. It is directly tied into the real world training sims we are producing with redbird etc for the full motion sims and the AOPA Jay Sim for pilots. They have already stated that after the two GA aircraft the next project is going to be an F104, then the F4 Phantom. So, if an A2A DC3 is going to happen, it's a long, long way away :(
  23. When A2A start modifying their aircraft for X-Plane I might consider moving over - but not before. ^_^ An A2A DC3? I'd buy it in an instant!!!!
