That's ok, the money set aside for purchase of said project has been sidetracked to other developers and may not reappear. But hey, that's business. Steve McLaren

"wondering if you could go straight from FSX:SE to P4D " Ha ha ha ha ha FSX to P3D is full price (same product). Luckily it's not the 777 you're after: we're talking BIG dollars there. Most updates are free though Steve McLaren

I've been saving my $'s in anticipation of the Prepar3D version of my beloved J41. Been missing it since leaving FSX a few years ago. Release day purchase for sure. Ready to pay for it, again. Cheers. Steve McLaren

Any discount for P3d aircrafts when already having for FSX?
duggy35 replied to Ourgas2's topic in PMDG General Forum
"Do we have any discount when already possessing aircrafts for FSX?" Apparently the issue is a licensing one which, as it happens, can be solved for the miserly sum of $1. Instead your loyalty is rewarded by full payment. So, suck it up and pay twice Steve McLaren P.S. Discussion of pricing is taboo here so this thread will be outlawed shortly -
To the FS2Crew gang, Thanks again for the wonderful button edition. I use it just about every second day (the other day is on the NGX). I hope it's generated the right amount of interest and customers to justify its creation. Splendid job. Cheers

Great news. Credit card is ready! Thanks Bryan Steve Mac

[01JAN16] New Year... New Updates for the 777 product line!
duggy35 replied to rsrandazzo's topic in PMDG General Forum
Where's the update that allows me to use my 777 from FSX in P3D without forking out an additional $135? Steve McLaren P.S. @*&^/$! awesome product though (finish on a high). Thanks Kyle -
Seems v2 of the piston Duke works quite well in P3D v3

[03OCT15] Read This if you have trouble in Prepar3D v3 (updated)
duggy35 replied to rsrandazzo's topic in PMDG General Forum
Gday all I had the no click spots issue (not all switches/knobs, about half I reckon)in both 2d and vc after uninstalling the 737 from P3D v2 and downloading/installing the new version for P3D v3. I followed the readme, even down to installing the simconnect.msi's. Still no click spots. It occurred to me it might be a registry issue since during install I had to move the prepar3d.exe from the v2 root folder for the installer to find v3 (I've still got v2 installed until I have v3 fully up & running). So I ran CCleaner to scan for registry issues, selected fix all, then reboot. All good! Everything works. Thanks PMDG for a swift transition to v3 and great support. Cheers Steve McLaren -
Upgrading FSX to Prepar3d - must I purchase the aircraft again?

My point exactly Steve McLaren -
Upgrading FSX to Prepar3d - must I purchase the aircraft again?
duggy35 replied to RaptyrOne's topic in PMDG General Forum
You'll be impressed with the differences (improvements) between the FSX and Prepar3D versions of PMDG's 737 & 777. Well worth paying full price again Steve McLaren -

So disappointing but it is what it is. After figuring out how best to utilise FS2Crew with the NGX I was hoping to gain the same sort of immersion with the Dash8. Voice control simply isn't possible for me due to noise constraints. Hope this doesn't lead to other products being solely voice control. Fantastic product line though. Keep up the great work. Steve Mac

Optimize Parts had no impact whatsoever on my NGX using v2.4. Frames remain low (high teens) at complex airports with many of the sliders on mid to low setting. My rig: i7 3820 @4.6 GHz, GTX770 4Gb, 16 Gb 1833 RAM Steve Mac

[05MAR15] PMDG 737NGX Versions for FSX/FSX-SE & P3D Released
duggy35 replied to rsrandazzo's topic in PMDG General Forum
3 minutes after Robert's post. That's either great timing or stalking Sold. Great work guys. Leading the way, still. Steve McLaren -
Thanks Ken. It's great to have someone with real world operational experience provide some detail to those of us that are desk-bound. Steve McLaren

I don't work on the 777 so can't speak for it. Generally speaking if the pressure drop is excessive then risk of a hot start is higher if not likely. I'm not aware of any APU that can crank 2 large mass turbofans simultaneously to sufficient RPM to support self sustain. Someone out there could probably correct or confirm this. Steve McLaren
-
You won't damage the APU by multiple simultaneous engine starts. The RPM for high bleed air demand (ie. engine start) is fixed, typically 100%. Therefore, bleed air pressure is fixed. What the operator chooses to with that available pressure downstream has no effect on the source. The first bleed air pressure regualtor after the bleed stage will modulate to supply the required flow to maintain downstream pressure to the point where it is full open (maximum demand). At that point, further demand downstream will result in reduced pressure at the start valves, while the load on the APU remains the same. Typically, engine start valves can only be opened individually because the available pressure would only be enough to crank one engine to a sufficient RPM to then be able to safely add fuel. Whoa! Since when can you offer an opinion on AVSIM? All the threads I've read so far about the 777 point to P3D being the root cause of the improved flying experience, across multiple aircraft types/publishers. Steve McLaren
-
I'm underneath the NT one but don't have access to my 777. Damn Steve McLaren
-
The occasional little dig on an obscure thread does no harm. It does remind the flight sim world (or those that frequent avsim, including prospective customers) of where we're at plus it makes me feel better to have a little vent every now and then. I know they'll see it. They know what they've done. I understand it's just business. I will be getting the 737 though. Just a point of view Dave. Cheers Steve McLaren
-
All FSX 777 owners who got the P3D version had the same problem but it wasn't the credit card company. Sorry, that's taboo. Ssshhhh Steve McLaren
-
What did you expect for top dollar (x2)? Seems a lot for some cool shadows, if your rig can run them. I knew I kept FSX installed for a reason. On a brighter note, 777 sales will dry up come March. Steve McLaren
