  1. captainklm - I've finished your white livery, will PM you a link to download it...
  2. Very nice Alan, that building looks pretty cool too...
  3. Good Morning Steve;I don't discount a single word you say here, but on the other hand I don't do anything at all special (other than registered FSUIPC with wx smoothed out) to start up a flight and I have zero problems in FSX + Acceleration. Knock on wood!Microsoft OS's and FSX really are enough sometimes to convince a person to start drinking heavily.
  4. Dave;Had the same problem. To fix it:1) Grab the file called uiautomationcore.dll available in my mediafire folder here: Download 2) Place it in your main "Microsoft Flight Simulator X" directory3) Fly around and switch windows constantly just because you can....Got to love Microsoft. Good luck.
  5. captainklm - I'll see what I can do....Michael - FYI there's a SAA 744 for FSX available on Flightsim.
  6. Glad to hear you pulled through OK - very sorry about the disaster. I spent a summer in Japan as a kid, great country with amazing people.
  7. captainK:Do you use FSX? The white livery would take me <10 minutes since I've already set up and used the paint kit for a few other projects...if I get the chance I'll try to create a clean white livery for you sometime this week/weekend and send you a link. Would you like a particular registration number on it? US Flag or anything?Silver on the other hand is a big undertaking. May do that someday but I'm still teaching myself how to paint bare metal.
  8. Mark - thanks for the United update, it looks fantastic! Will be downloading it tonight....
  9. Sure looked like you had a good crab going in there.Sorry to hear about your tragic computer mishap LOL.
  10. Good job...a bit of a 'firm' touchdown but a lot better than I would have done :)
  11. From the 748 Product Page...*Note: This product is a visual model extension that uses the underlying PMDG 747-400X simulation for the flight, cockpit and systems models. This product is not intended to simulate the difference in flight characteristics between the 747-400 and the 747-8. This product allows the user to add a high fidelity visual model of the 747-8 to their Flight Simulator X experience. Seems like pretty honest advertising to me. It is what it is.
  12. Niclas;Yes, setting the "momentumeffect=no" will impact all aircraft. Simplest solution would be to create a cameras.cfg that you use only with the PMDG 747 and change back to the original one for other aircraft. Not ideal but I don't know of any other solution...
  13. Niclas; The camera definition for the virtual cockpit should be in a text file called "cameras.cfg" (not sure exactly where it is, but I think it is with the FSX.cfg in application data/fsx). In that cameradefinition there will be a line for "momentumeffect=" or something similar to that. If you set it to =0 the viewpoint should stop moving around on you when you turn. Make a backup copy of your cameras.cfg before you edit anything! If you can't find the file, this evening (around 2400GMT) I can take a look at my install and post more specific instructions.
  14. Leonard, this post should help you...I had the same issues at first.http://forum.avsim.net/topic/324734-keyboard-commands-wont-save-and-fmc-wont-load/
  15. Good Morning Mark;Don't know if you saw it, but United finally rolled out a 747 in the new merger livery (saw it on Airliners.net)...looks like the cheatline is a bit lower than expected and the font is a bit smaller/darker than in your paints. Would you consider one more update to your excellent UNITED scheme? Thanks;Matt
  16. JS411 -If you want to try the "uiautomationcore.dll" fix, I've uploaded a good version of it here: http://www.mediafire...m1e38bebcsuzayc. All you have to do is place the .dll in your FSX directory (Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X). Solved crash problems on my old Vista64 and new WIndows7 install. Please let us know if it worked for you...Matt
  17. Jeff; The line that Patrice is referring to is HIGHMEMFIX=1, added to fsx.cfg.I recommend going to *******' site here: http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html. You can submit your current fsx.cfg and it automatically generates a new config (including *******' tweaks for FSX) that you can download and try.Worked well for me, stopped some stuttering problems I was seeing.Good luck.
  18. Good morning all;Don't know if this will solve your specific problem, but I recommend trying BOJOTE's tweak page here:http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html. Basically you electronically submit your current FSX.CFG file and the site analyzes it and creates a new one for you, incorporating various fixes. You can then download and try it.I found that it solved some 'stuttering' problems I was having with FSX. Perhaps he's got a trick in there that will help you?
  19. Beautiful...looking forward to it!
  20. Good post Ed.Likewise, in the real world not everybody is on an IFR flightplan under ATC control. Keeping the speed down under 10,000' gives people more time to 'see and avoid' VFR traffic.
  21. Only thing I would add to these great answers is that if you are using FSX ATC, yes you CAN request a lower altitude via the ATC window.Of course FSX ATC is also prone to vector you right at a mountain or tell you to descend and then climb again...but I digress :) PS - Kyle, your quote 'though it will not likely be the optimum, idle power, constant-speed descent."...that's what I meant by VNAV being disrupted by ATC, but you said it a lot better.
  22. Dogang Kim;I have nothing to add to the technical answer to your question...but your English sounds good to me!Good Luck...
  23. More like "Pete Mac Daddy" if you ask me...Thanks Pete!
