  1. Now order a second one and change to SLI for a truly amazing experience. Mac
  2. J, 1) There should not be any need to do anything except a straight plus and play. Possibly do a Windows Updater for the latest drivers when you are up and running. 2) No I don't think you are missing anything applicable to FS. Cheers, Mac
  3. As a "dual member" of the 780 club I strongly recommend that you set the NVIDIA Inspector settings in accordance with this thread, which can also be found somewhere on these forums. Made a BIG difference to my rig. SLI NOT enabled PS: I pinched the kids inheritance.
  4. Thanks for that Tim. I guessed as much but thought that others may not.
  5. I think it is important to note that The P3D2 settings shown In the "REX4 TEXTURE DIRECT USER GUIDE" on Page 10, may be too far to the right for many computers. I have not yet completed the downloaded and install of REX4 Textures but my machine repeatedly crashes with OOM's at the settings shown. See my signature for computer specs. SLI is disabled.
  6. You are quite right, Arwen but what the heck is a nice girl like you doing, hanging out in a thread like THIS ????
  7. Flight Sim is truly emerging from the "dark ages" thanks to LM. What a great team they are ...
  8. G'day Rod, The OP has gone to some length to review a product that is either 1) Not yet released for Prepar3D v2.0 OR 2) Has been in use in Prepar3D v1.4 for over 15 months. He then supplied a link from a discussion on Prepar3D v2.0. I therefore suggest that his "review" lacks credibility.
  9. There is just one serious problem with all this. ORBX have ONLY released FTX Global for Prepar3D. You MUST install FTX Global Patch v1.2. All other Orbx product has been released for Prepar3D ONLY.
  10. The Virtavia Sea King flies perfectly in P3D v2.0. This might be good news for other products in their range.
  11. I was getting OOM's which seemed to be caused by Plan-G. I have now flown for six hours with only P3D2, Plan-G v3.07.71 and Opus v3.36.1 running without a problem. I have set Plan-G to File --> Options --> Map Provider --> OpenCycleMap and the OOM's which I thought might have been Plan-G related have vanished. Of course it might be a coincidence but it is worth a try.
  12. The short answer is that ONLY, FTX (Orbx) Global has been released for Prepar3D v2.0 at this time. Orbx will release further scenery areas and airports as they become available. Perhaps check out and bookmark this LINK so that you will know exactly when and what Orbx have released for P3D2.
  13. I have nearly all my sliders on maximum with my GTX780 SOC. It is a very smooth ride at a NVIDIA limited 33fps. Even got a second waiting for P3D2.1 SLI enabled.
  14. Bill, there is no link. If you download the latest version of FTX Global when you go to install, you will be given three options to install, FSX, P3D1 and P3D2. Choose the option that applies to your FS installation.
  15. A pair of GTX780 in SLI would come very close to what you want. That should give you eight video outputs.
  16. Many thanks for that Vic. I have followed your lead and the only hassle I have had is because I set the sliders a bit high and got a couple of OOM's.
  17. Not sure if this is what you are asking but the Garmin 530 works just fine.
  18. Time for me to start sharing this terrific sim with the AI Traffic of the world. Has any one installed yet, please. If so which package. I had My Traffic 2012 running in P3D v1.4 but have not yet re-installed in to P3D2 yet. Thanks.
  19. Yes, Wayne, but basically there are only two packs, FTX Global and FTX SP4. I have also installed three or four airports that do NOT have People Flow and they are just fine. Having said that there will be a patch to FTX Global appearing shortly which is designed to overcome some texture issues. This is not a problem because it can be installed over the top of my current installs. I think the best plan is to install FSUIPC 4.923 and go back to the default graphics settings in P3D2. Then set about moving the sliders a bit at a time to suit your computer. It is very important to ONLY install V 4.923 over your current instal, earlier version may/can cause crashes.
  20. My UKMIL Chinook with added gauges, including the Garmin 530 in the 2D, is flying just fine with FSXPilot for the AP.
  21. I am using the GTX780 SOC and am quite frankly delighted. Yes I had to back the sliders off from maximum a little to avoid OOM's but strangely that seemed to improve when I installed FSUIPC. I am flying FTX Global and Orbx Australia at 35-40fps now without a problem. The introduction of SLi support some time in the future will just be icing on a very tasty cake. In the meantime I have it switched OFF.
  22. I am very, very glad I started this thread and I thank all who have contributed. It was started quite intentionally to prove that even a high end rig does NOT allow everything to work at maximum. As the contributors have said, start in the middle. I set my sliders there and can not see the difference between maximum and middle. I am getting 30-49fps on both settings and all the Orbx Aus scenery is showing up beautifully. Enjoy.
  23. I am getting OOM failures after about half an hours flying. I have no doubt that is clearly my fault for setting everything at or near maximum (hard right). My question is which sliders are likely to have most effect on GPU and CPU running out of memory? I have started creeping the sliders back towards the left but it is a long slow job to judge which are having the greatest impact. Thanks.
  24. Good news for me then for P3D, Bill. Thanks for the info on the SLI setup. I have both cards plugged in and the bridge/link in place but had not gone past that as I was told that SLI would not be applicable for P3D just yet. I only have two cards because I brought one and my GF also brought me a present.
  25. Sorry Bill should have posted this originally
