  1. All I did was just install the PMDG 777 on my FSX rig then copy and paste the flight manuals to my laptop across my home network (LAN). Didn't have to install the plane anywhere else then uninstall just for manauls.
  2. I suggest a website like this that can take the METAR report and break it down for you until you get use to reading it. But you can look at the weather then look at the METAR and learn pretty fat what is what. http://www.checkwx.com/weather/PANC Also gives METAR forcast,
  3. I use this website a lot as it has all areas of the world, even space weather and volcano notams for sim flights. At the tops just seleect the area you're flying in and just about everything weather realted outside programs like AS2012 is provided. https://sites.google.com/site/acnetworkweather/home/north-atlantic
  4. +1 for mapping keys. CDU/MENU/PMDG Setup/Options/Key Commands This is your friend!
  5. There not really lines but moreso dots or blotches that give the displays what looks like back contrast.
  6. Use the ticket system on PMDG website. http://support.precisionmanuals.com/Main/Default.aspx
  7. I'm sure its something they like to give us, and by examine they mean see if it can be done on a complex aircraft. I do remember them saying its something they like to do. But can it happen in FSX? That dose not say they are getting it done or that it will be in SP2. Also I don't think the ticket system is for clarifying forum post.
  8. It looks like you're saying you've disabled all weather AND FSUIPC. You need FSUIPC, maybe you ment 'in' FSUIPC. There is a option in FSUIPC that helps control weather on more complex aircraft like PMDG.
  9. I've been usung AS2012 and all is fine, 6 long haul flights done so far. FSX disabled turbulance, FSUIPC winds setting to smoothed and the recommended AS2012 setting for PMDG aircraft as listed in the AS2012 manual.
  10. Try adjusting the brightness if you haven't already. I know I could make my NG displays look like this is I made to bight or dim I believe.
  11. Just landed a shut down, over 14 hours in the air and landed with 24.3. So this was only 2.3 off what the FMS had its prediction at ORD while at the gate a HGK. So I not seeing the larger understatements you're getting.

    Sand Storm?

Looking at the forecast it seams its only going to get worse or remain the same for next few hours http://www.checkwx.com/weather/OMDB After 15z looks to clear up
  13. Temps @ DBX are already 63c. Just kidding.
  14. I don't know it we can call them gods, althought if they told us to drink our special Kool-Aid most would! However, I'd like to say we can surely call them artist. Artist of aviation, software, and PC simulation!
  15. I'm using the FMS as my fuel planner until next week when I can get PFPX. I'm also using AS2012 for weather injection as well making a [.wx] file to help the FMS 'look ahead'. I've been planning a reserve of low 20,000lbs range. FMS this flight said at the gate I'd arrive at ORD with 26.6 and now its at 25.3. I too have a tailwind of 85kts but the FMS knew somewhat winds we undertake. Not sure what weather injection you're using since it sounds like this flight you've got winds, but dose it seams like you're having warmer then relaistic aloft temps? Or some other injected weather factor aloft playing with fuel burn. I have 7 hours left on this flight 15:25z arrival time @ORD and will update the landing fuel I get. But I'm guessing once I enter the STAR into ORD and land without taxying to gate I'll have low 24,000 left and reserve this flight is 21.7. Also I've been about a hour and no drop from the 25.3 predection still. Under your last post I'd be around 25.0 EDIT: I wanted to add that as soon as the FMS changes the recommend flight level for a step climb I do it. Most of the time its a good 400-500nm before the ND S/C icon. FMS says now next step climb is at 9:29z but I can step up I'm guessing now around 8:xx something zulu time. I do see positive number on landing fuel doing this.
  16. I just like to have them shown, even though the automation of the plane would likely catch or see a problem, say oil pressure drop before I would notice it if it were to arise. However I do turn off the lower display after checking something or running the ECL.
  17. Well I think wind is one factor to account for and I'm just guessing on the next part. But other variable are present even in the absences of wind like temps aloft, atmospheric pressures, etc and the FMS can't only guess while at the gate. Once in flight and actually in-taking the data of these other variable can it make a new prediction. Again just a guess but these other variable do effect air fuel ratios and therefore fuel burn. I have seen this myself but I don't think I've seen the amount to post and I've done 5 flights so far all 13 to 15 hours. EDIT: On my flight now about 7 hours into it, HGK - ORD about an 14 hours flight time and 7 hours into it and only showing 1.3 or 1300lbs from at the gate prediction to what I have now.
  18. This sound to me like you're doing a light flight, low ZFW and/or little fuel in comparison to what this plane can really do. I haven't had this problem, but all my flights have been over 13 hours with 600,000lbs+ GW with ZFW around 420,000lbs+... And even then she still has plenty power to almost shoot through speed restrictions.
  19. Please share how, on the NG I always setup mine like you've shown.
  20. Looks like you've also been practicing uneven braking as well.
  21. There is also a limit to how many animations you can run within FSX I've heard.
  22. Read it again, I said, time at the gate. Not just taxi time! Plus the etc, witch would be prefilght, pax loading, whatever.
