  1. I was tempted to get v6 and thanks to the many posts here, I could make up my mind finally. For the time beeing, I will stay with 5.4.
  2. Don't think so, since Global is textures, not vectors. This is part of ORBX vector, which I no longer use in v5. I wonder if it's fixed in v6.
  3. I can only speak for v5.3 HF2 and v5.4, where I've seen this problem too. Do you have this in v6? I have no idea how this could be fixed. I think, traffic has it's own vectors copied from the road vectors. Somewhere there must be a conversion error. We do not even have an editor to work on traffic vectors. It works on highways, cause they are wider, so it's not that obvious.
  4. Ok, had a look at this. It looked so matching, I could hardly see it and it didn't show when loading default buildings, strange. Thanks a lot finding this. I have uploaded a fixed file.
  5. So I got this scenery. Firstly, apart from the AFLT lighting the second does not much differ. Same number of files but some are reworked. What I first saw, there are two AFCADS, which is never good. HRYR_ADEP4_DL_Purged_P3Dv4.bgl and HRYR_ADEP4_DL.bgl. Looked at both, they looked the same, same size and look in ADE. I decided to rework HRYR_ADEP4_DL.bgl. To replace make sure to rename both the extension to .off or delete them. I adjusted the height to P3D5 default height 4882.999 ft, then went into raw mode and set to not create a stub and changed revised altitude to false, since in P3D5 this is the correct altitude. I exchanged all exclude rectangles, cause some mini rectangles sometimes don't work. So if there's the possibility I have overseen a default object somewhere. Now the CVX is from the old altitude and we can not edit it. So delete or rename the extension to .off. I decided to not create a new flatten, since the default airport has one. That's all. It seems to work fine. I didn't see the runway dissappear but I did not extensive testing. I also made turning paths on the runways. I also had to move the bus and some people to another parking. Hope it's not disturbing traffic. I also removed one static jet, since it was on a parking used by ai.   6. Cool, now we have the remaining users of P3D split further into one more group now 4.5, 5.4 and 6.0. That's definitely not good for addons. I certainly have to give up addons worth more than a new P3D licence and I see no reason, the publisher of these addons will ever make them compatible with the new version. It was a nice surprise, Hifi Sim announced Active Sky beeing developed for v6. Will others follow?
  7. Just read here PMDG 737 is not fully working, fslabs a320 too. For sure hifi active sky can't work with a new weather, if it's really new. I'm certainly not going anywhere without real world weather. 🙂
  8. I just don't get why some code refinement and new weather and atmosphere breaks compatibility with existing addons. Next to this the terrain looks still the same. So no reason to buy 6 to get all the work again to move our addons like before from 4.5 to 5.0. I hope they get a lesson much fewer people buying P3D and lots of refund requests. LM should see we're no longer happy with that. Of course they will not suffer but at least loose their free beta testers. Dan

  10. Well, you think they do that for weather generation but they may do many other things with that. Control what addons you use, planes, sceneries, just some surveillance when your online, what gear you have etc. If Active Sky requires an internet connection, I feel better although they may abuse it too.
  11. Sure we have to wait and see. But I will not be a first day buyer anymore, even though some nuggets may appear.
  12. Maybe for you, but not for me. The longer I use this sim, the worse the scenery is looking, although it remains the same. I think the expectations rise with time and the look of today and what's the development (v6) are not meeting my expectations any longer. Since 11 years I'm flying with P3D and had a lot of expectations. Some came true, others not. Even though I know how to mod scenery and models of this sim, and I had a lot of fun modding airports and planes in recent years, I think I come to an end with it. 32 years of flightsimming, always not completely satisfied, is enough. And now, a new version almost the same as before but some addons going to be broken, is no perspective for the future.
  13. Oh boy, that v5 video was short. Does somebody know, where that sloped airfield is? Would like to look at it in the sim. The v6 trailer is definitely better, the simulation however, is probably still the same. I see no reason to go further with LM.

  15. Pretty similar indeed, but the Tri-Pacer has a nosewheel. So the regular Piper Pacer is a bit closer. Lionheart Creations product.

Thanks, this is the Flight1 American Champion Decathlon for FSX, originally a RealAir product, which is part of the American Champion Aircraft package. http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?vid=flt1sf&pid=RealAirACA It installs well into Prepar3D v5. There is a setup program which may be needed for the panel setup. I found it works, if I put the planes into FSX. I have FSX installed for such reason. Then I connect the planes in v5 with the FSX planes with a symbolic linc. I think it works, if I change the instruments, the plane is changed. Have done this before for Milviz planes only v4, used in v5. Also there, the setup program can not be switch to the sim you want. Just another shot of the plane east of lake Geneva
  17. I had just recently reinstalled TOGA ENVTex and ENVShade and I think the sim looks much better now again. Just a screeny to show the look of the sky. I never got ENVPlus. I think, it is too tedious to play with shaders and can give you unwanted results. There are a lot of settings for ENVShade and ENVtex already. So I'm pretty happy with Tex and Shade, also have ENVSound. Just got a mail from them, it is on sale now. Dan
  18. I have a 60/100 Hz Monitor, so I can't limit with VSync. I checked if I get more headroom with external limiting with NVidia System Panel but it looks the same, like with internal limiter. I have 100% on core 1 in both cases. Is there any other way I could try to reduce frames on a driver level? How did you reduce load of the main core further? I have 2x32 GB DDR5 RAM, 5600 MHz but my board lists only a tune mode for this RAM of 5400. I also have one XMP mode. Maybe that one takes 5600 but can't see that. Maybe another BIOS update before it's possible. I took this RAM, cause I read the CPU does not support faster speeds. I see you got the 7800 MHz. What is your knowledge about that? About the noise I found a freeware/donationware called Fan Control V160, which is better than my Gigabyte board software, which just stopped showing the fans today. No message about it. It's just no longer there. So now I have good cooling and less noise with full control. Dan
  19. Maybe even the other market gets saturated. They have so many addons coming out the last two years, it may be impossible to buy them all. On the other hand the P3D market didn't get a lot important addons in recent times, so people are glad they get something to buy after a long period of shopping-detox. Also we P3D simmers keep simming for years. Who knows, how others behave with this hobby. So after a big wave, it may be already over on this market. There's also the next new sim announced and nobody knows how it looks with compatibility of existing addons. All this may have influenced this ranking. Really interesting was to know the sales numbers but I fear, Simmarket will never tell us.
  20. @markmasterson Yes, I agree, this cpu does not need overclocking, since it is already higher in regular mode than my overclocked i9700 which I could run at 4.8 GHz. It makes a lot of heat, also have the 1200 W psu but still the RTX3090, which seems to be enough so far. @Bob Scott I followed your suggestions and it looks promising yet. I have an aio cooler with 2x240 mm fans. The cpu is at 72 C during flight. Comparing to my old system, the 13900K needs much more cooling and the fans give me much more noise, though I have set them to a manual silent mode, only spinning up above 50 C. Maybe my aio is not the best. The case only allows 2 fans mounted on the roof. I have the pump on the boards pump plug, though the manual said to put it on cpu I think. Overall so far I'm not very impressed by the progress from i9700 to i13900, which should be much more. To avoid stutters I need to reduce settings, use SimstarterNG to divide the world in several parts. I have some more headroom than with the i9700 but in general when the sim is using one core at 100% then it stutters with both cpus.
  21. @Kalnon Inspired by this thread, I got the American Champion Scout from Flight1. Installation was easy and it works. Only the tool to setup the plane gives me script errors, but this is not sim related. I can highly recommend the Aerosoft PBY and also the B314. Both planes are difficult to start. The PBY has also an easy mode. Not sure about the B314. Dan

This is in prepar3d.cfg [MAIN] User Objects=Airplane, Helicopter, Submersible, ExternalSim, Avatar and this in the aircraft.cfg [General] Category = airplane So you can define your own category for default planes and they are out. You just have to edit each aircraft.cfg to airplaned d for default and it should not show. If you want them in your list, add airplaned to the User Objects. That's the theory. I think it may work this way and is worth trying.
  23. Some other planes my rely on them, using the panel or gauges, the sound by aliasing to them. This is often for freeware, payware rather not. Otherwise I think it is possible. An option instead of deleting them is change the definition for user objects in the prepar3d.cfg or moving them into a directory default airplanes instead of airplanes.
  24. What would you advice to set up the cpu in the bios, P-cores only or with E-cores, HT off/on? What is the respective affinity setting? Is it good to just let P3D set it or can it be made better manually? Thanks Dan
  25. I have it running on P3Dv5.4. So it is possible in 4.5 too. I have reworked the afcad. I think, all Skydesigners products need a "Reset all drawing flags", to show taxiways properly. If you have ADE, it is an easy task to acomplish. Regards Dan P.S. v5 also requires new exclusion rectangles.
