  1. I price mysefl rich, having windows 7 64 bit on one ssd, and fsx and all with it on another. :-) Personally I would put fsx on a ssd first, but I depands on how often you let fsx load its scenery / change your location etc. Maikel Rozemeijer.
  2. @brucewtbNot that I have a (i)pad, but you can touch the screen and enter your data with your fingers instead of using the mouse.Maikel Rozemeijer.
  3. I went on with tutorial 2 yesterday and was left behind somewhere around page 52. After continueing, I came along a part where I was noted 2 times not too use the brake button on the joystick but really use the mouse and brake leaver in the virtual cockpit. The reason was that indeed a bit earlyer in tut2 it was order to set rto on.Maikel Rozemeijer.
  4. Hello David,No idea when this started?Maybe dumb, but I try too think with you, isnt it the push back truck (shift+p) that is doing this for you? Could be if you alway use the same start up file instead of manually enter your airport etc etc. Although sutting down the engines seemes other wise.Maybe you can try use a nother ngx startup file. (like cold and dark etc)Maikel Rozemeijer.
  5. Maby it is best too first try too salve this problem in an a simple as possible, standard fsx, aircraft. If you think of controller problemes you could try too calibrate it in windows itself, or look at your fsuipc settings.Have you always have this problem or did it start, and when? (maybe after installing other add-on or even windows software)But as you mentioned yourself, you are 'a bit' offtopic in this pmdg 737ngx forum.Maikel Rozemeijer.
  6. Hello Rajah,I am no ngx specialist, but also encounter this 'problem' when using vor loc's.As you have noticed the diverence is always 180 degrees. This comes when you draw the course/heading line you are flying too and through the vor beacon. At the other side of the beacon you get the other number with the 180 degree diverence.Maybe the easy way is alway use the outbound cource from the vor altough I not 100% sure that is trough. I can only explain a little bit of your problem.A view days ago I put in the cource in the fmc fix option and used both numbers (put in two entry's in the fmc), so that a line get drawn too and through the vor on the ngx displays.Hopes this helps a little?Maikel Rozemeijer.
  7. Hello again,Thanks for thinking with me, I understand it now better. I expected to see appr line drawn in flight sim commander whyle this program only shows sid/star information. After that I should use appr charts.Nice too keep on learning. ;-)Maikel RozemeijerThe Netherlands.
  8. Indeed most of my charts are old I noticed. With newer once I searched online I still had some diverences but probaly mostly because that last part should by atc vectored I think.Well keep on testing, trying and learning with this subject. Thanks so far.
  9. Hello,I just flew a appr using a chart and this went ok. In this case I needed a vor from the airport and first fly over it. Then make a 180 turn and fly into the ils beam. After landing I thought I look up the star for the same rnw (using flight sim commander) and expacted to see the same line draw, but instead it come from any direction (n, s, e, w) and stoped infront of the ils beam. Can anybody explain if there is a relation between star and chart appr's, or are they used saparately? Thanks,Maikel Rozemeijerpe1123
  10. As mentioned in my 1st msg here. I think cws gives an autopilot like in md11 that works like point the nose to a point and cws holds the hand made pitch and roll.Yesterday did a test with cmd holding my alt at 6000 ft and make a manual turn under cws. If I make a shalow turn less dan 5 dgs the plain does not level out and keep there. If I make a stronger turn around 20 or 30 dgs the plain does not hold that turn for me.Probaly I have the wrong expactation about cws? Does the amber cws r or p msgs in the pfd goes green btw?Maikel Rozemeijer.
  11. I read things I have read yesterday in this forum before posting my msg.I feel rather stupid because just can't get any working out of it, but will keep on trying... thanks for your responses above.Maikel Rozemeijer.
  12. Hello,I did some reading in de ngx pdfs and search here in the forum and also did some mid air tests but just can not understand what cws should do, or let it do anything for me.As I understand it, it should hold / take over a hand flown pitch and / or roll.So let's say that i fly under I steady streaght cmd autopilot and then use my stick and point that a.c. to a sertain point / in a steady bank the cmd goes off. Cws comes on and also cws p and r come in my pfd.I tried holding a 5 dgs turn steady but can not get the cws r from yellow to green and let the autopilot hold my turn.Could somebody explain the intended work for cws and or give a simple test idea? Thanks,Maikel Rozemeijer.NL
  13. I went for 2 hours in one in Lelystad NL. Althought it was great fun I did not like the graphics, it was running fs2004 / fs9.Still the 'real' and working cockpit is very special to operate the sim with and also the moving when you bank l or r is great.I heard that most real world pilots just start at fl300 and practise failures, they do not use it for takeoff / landing.Greetings,Maikel Rozemeijer
  14. Reading a book... that's way they keep the cockpit door shut theise days? ;-) Thanks for your thoughts.
  15. Hello all,1st let me all wish you all the best for these days and the whole next year. Now on topic.I wonder what a pilot and his co would do when in the air on route.I know check fuel useage is a thing, and when over the ocean reporting positions and expacted next reports but is there any kind of in flight check list?Or maybe we can make that together? :)Greeting from NL.Maikel Rozemeijer.
  16. Maybe check your (joystick) control options and also fsuipc options if installed. What happens when you use others plane(s)?Maikel Rozemeijer
  17. I can't give you any numbers but was just talking in general, meaning keeping your mind after fsx. (ms flight or x-plane x or any other)If you want pricise numbers look up test tables with diverent board and diverent games. (although fsx will not be in the list) I know nvidia uses a totally bigger gpu at the faster board from the 570 series I believe. Also if multible monitors is your thing then maybe an amd (ati) video board maybe the thing for you.Nice hobby isnt it? :-)
  18. I would go for a faster video board. I think you would like too use your new system for some time and as for the fsx time when a faster cpu was most important now days a gpu is more important. If money is a problem indeed a i5 is nice. Also I strongly adivice going for a ssd.Maikel Rozemeijer
  19. Well, I found that when making a rather sharp corner whyle in taxi with reasanable speed you can see in an outside view the whole plane sliding over the asphalt instead of making a turn. But let's just injoy the great sim pmdg made for us and still are working hard on.Maikel Rozemeijer.
  20. As noted above bc works with just using app 1x, no need for 2x. I set up some nice side wind and no problems, this time used vert. speed mode and auto speed until the final app and took over.I have no idea of an outbound ils, let alone bc, is something we would find in real world... so do not see anything in testing this.Starting learning about the cabin pressure systeem yesterday.Maikel Rozemeijer.
  21. Maybe it helps if you put 3 more items with this subject in the ngx group?
  22. I just tried a backcourse and indeed it is available in the ngx.I also was looking for a bc button or someting like that and then found this post about the standby instrument. When I press app 2x there I get it in backcourse....The next thing too try out was to also use app 2x on the main panel and there I got a backcourse in the pfd first in yellow and later in green. The a.p. followed it but I only got confused in managing the vertical aspect and speed but that is the next thing to try out.In short: 2x the app button (below lnav and vor loc button) does the trick.Greetings from the netherlands.Maikel Rozemeijer.
  23. Took me a good time of testing and waiting (level flight) but at last this did work. Need to use 'no weater' so that I could better keep level flight. One little correction. Entering the irs hdg (mag) needs to be done at POS INIT page 5R.Maikel Rozemeijer
  24. Hello,In pcpilot their is a review of the ngx (nothing then thubs up) and the reviewer also was talking about a special procedure he know whitch was possible to do with the pmdg ngx.Does anybody know a page or procedure with one or more if theise kind of items so I can learn / test more with the pmdg ngx? Thanks in advance.Maikel Rozemeijer.
