Mmm , that's bad news . I got excited when I heard that tss sound studios have done the sound set , & the mfd panels were operational , I never gave a thought that the hud would be poor , I hope jf sort that out. I have pestered the creator of the rollus rafale about getting it back up for sale , last I heard he was trying to get a license from dassault , that was over a year ago , thors hammer not having a vc stopped me installing that on my new build. So its a shame .

Hi all , the jf Typhoon is now available for download. I have bought it so I really want my hard drive back now so I can start my re install. Of win 7 & fsx.

I've been wanting a gtx680 all year & have been waiting for the 780 to come out , & hoping the 680 price comes down a bit , fingers crossed .

Mmm , I bought fssim vfr Canaries package on download & dvd cos I'd seen some YouTube vids & it looked amazing , I also bought the 2 highest definition airports from orbx , bella coola & Stewart as recommended in pc pilot mag , dvd versions being shipped from Australia to UK.

Thanks for the reply , I had unfortunately done all of the things you suggested already , I have since my post contacted the supplier of my ssd & subsequently they have had me return the drive under warranty as it had proven to be faulty.

The first 2 discs don't install the patches acceleration does , some add ons don't work unless sp2 is installed.

I also much prefer alternating views as well , but when I'm actually flying I never leave the virtual cockpit , but if I replay the landing or take off I do like to look at different views , wing flex isn't necessarily a must for me but its nice to have it.

Quite a lot of fsx YouTube vids have a window seat view with wing flex visible & back ground chatter , I personally really like it.

Which version of fsx do you have ? If you have fsx gold like me , simply put disc one in , let it boot up , it will ask if you want to remove or repair , click repair , it will at some point ask for disc 2 to complete the repair , I then before launching fsx put my acceleration disc in & run a repair from that to cos quite a few add ons I have need acceleration to work , if you have fsx with sp1 & sp2 patches I think maybe un install the patches , run fsx repair then re install the patches , but I am only guessing about that as its different to my set up. Good luck.

I assume you have add on airports & scenery , if so go into your scenery folder in settings & un tick every add on , then see if fsx will load a UK airport , if it does you know its an add on causing the problem , so tick one box at a time & try to fly if it loads its ok so move onto the next add on until you find which one is causing the problem. If it doesn't run with all add ons un ticked a fsx repair will need to be done .

Hi all , I've just had to do a full re install having got my pc back repaired. I've put op system in all updates , all drivers . My problem is nothing seems smooth , I watch YouTube vids & they have micro stutters , scrolling text gives stutters , tried Google earth flight simulator & it stutters , i don't want to install fsx if less taxing things can't run smooth , any ideas anyone.

fsps extreme fsx pc combines this software with other components , I have both but only use fsps extreme fsx pc now. I find it makes an improvement & I tried all the other known tweeks out there , but as with everything fsx different pc have different results

Thanks timest , is it just an update or is it a full installer , I ask cos I am in the process of a full re install , I was using essentials overdrive before my pc memory failed.

Fsps extreme fsx pc constantly changes the fsx cfg.

I am about to start re installing fsx + add ons to & have been contemplating the best way to do it , I think, & I may be wrong , it might be best to install my aircraft first as fsx takes linger to load with more scenery in , so I think install a plane , fly it , shut fsx down , restart pc then install the next one til all are in , then traffic , vox atc, sceneries , Rex. What do you all think about that sequence.

Last time I added up it was over 1700 UK pounds on software alone , if I add in the last pc & then my new one I dread to think.

I wish I could do some screenshots for you , unfortunately I am still in the process of a full windows re install & I haven't got to the point of even installing fsx yet , let alone scenery. Here is a vid of me descending over Barmouth , you could try flying there & then watching my vid to compare. Hope that is of some help.

I noticed a big difference in video playback quality recording with frapps at half percent si I never did one again , I always use full resolution. I also disable boats & cars , I have minimum airport traffic & my ai aircraft is controlled by traffic 360 , I generally don't use my Rex weather engine but use an orbx predefined set , all these reductions in processor needs help photo scenery to be displayed clearer.

Mmm , funny that link to flightsim.com was my post from ages back. Had a look at your jpg shots & they give a far better image than the YouTube Vid you posted & look about how it should , its difficult to tell without a moving image to watch the clarity as its rendered , that's why I was interested in seeing a full res frapps Vid from your pc. Have you found my YouTube vids to compare , they are raw footage with no editing , 2 mins of Vid - 6 gig of data.

The 0.6 cm areas are part if the v3 upgrade , they are listed on there web site , you can tell them a mile off as they have a greener the to them , & a few complaints were made about it . My bandwidth multi is 90 which make a bit if an improvement . Do a full resolution frapps Vid , it doesn't need to be long , just to see what it actually looks like , I never do half size frapps vids as for me it degrades the quality to much. I oddly enough didn't like how my photo scenery displayed until fsps extreme fsx pc had done a few passes over the cfg.

Mmm , it looks blurry to me , I run lod radius 6.5 & texture max load 4096 on my system , my fsx vids can be found on you tube , search paulsleighty or sleightflight & you can see if you look at my vids of a year back to the more recent ones how I've improved the quality of my horizon scenery. The newest vids were on my new system , I7 Ivybridge @ 4.5 ghz , the ones a year back were on my amd quad core at 3.8 ghz. I also found a nice improvement when I bought a new monitor , resolution 1980 x 1080 or somewhere around that.

Photo scenery is a very heavy hitter , running lid 9.5 is way to high , depending on how powerful your pc , the recommended lod is a max 6.5 . I have struggled over the years to get photo scenery to display without blurries tried tweaking cfg , eventualy bought fsps extreme fsx pc & finally started getting some decent results , the higher entries , ie 0.6m will give you a clearer picture when you are low.

I'm going to start again me thinks , I don't trust the install.
