Can anyone confirm what happens if you have this scenery installed and run FSX in DX10 i.e will it not load/display at all or will it throw up crashes etc? Cheers

Can't decide between Skiathos X or Mykonos X. Help! Mynokos covers a bigger area (140Km²) and looks stunning but Skiathos, while equally stunning, covers a bit less area (100Km²) but the approach looks more interesting. Mykonos doesn't have ILS, does Skiathos? Cheers
  3. RealityXP GNS 430W XP/GNS 530W XP. What are the main differences for a novice to know about (in simple terms)? Other than the different size of the display Cheers

What plane is that? edit - aha, the Lancair plate gave me the clue. RealAir Legacy? Cheers

I'm really interested in all sceneries for the Greek islands and Aegean Sea. Aside from Skiathos X and Heraklion X are there any more scenery packages for this region? Cheers
  6. Afternoon gents, Thanks for all feedback and opinions. I whittled down my choices to the Milviz 310 and the Carenado 337 & 340. I actually preferred the look inside and out of the Carenados (as a non real world flier and simply based on personal idiocyncracies!) but with the feedback here started swinging towards the MilViz. I don't think i'd really be disappointed with any of the products mentioned in this thread tbh. However, something kept niggling in the back of my mind. For years i've always been interested in the Flight1 FSX Pilatus PC-12 and whilst it isn't a twin (but has a rather powerful single) I really like the look of the cockpit. Given that it's quite older compared to a lot of the newer HD stuff I wonder if anyone has it, or how it stacks up so many years after release. I read the 2008 review on avsim (http://www.avsim.com/pages/0308/Pilatus/PC12.htm) and it confirms my suspicions that I would probably love it. The only two things that make me hold back are whether it would work with Windows 7 x64 and the airspeed indicator being too dark to view when flying at night which would definetely annoy! So, any Flight1 FSX Pilatus PC-12 owners want to share opinions on it? Cheers
  7. Morning/evening gents, I'm looking for a decent GA light twin to get my teeth stuck into but there's quite a few on the market so wonder if anyone has any recommendations or comments. I think my only preference is that I'm happy with regular flight instruments or small sized PFD's alongside small navigation/weather MFD units. Basically anything except large PFD/MFD's such as the G1000 etc. Models i've been looking at are: MilViz C310R (Read somewhere it uses some default FSX flight gauges) Carenado C340 II HD Series Carenado B200/C90B King Air HD Series RealAir Turbine/Piston Duke (Aware of the potential RealityXP gauges cost increase) Flight1 BN2 Islander (I understand this is a cracking plane to own but i'm a bit dubious about the Bendix King GPS unit) I have a medium computer system that can run a Cessna Mustang with all its MFD's though it can go a bit choppy so I would assume all the above will be easier on FPS. Opinions and/or additional recommendations welcomed. Cheers, ceem

Are you sure about that or maybe you don't quite understand what I said? Most forums, including this one don't require that the users real identity be displayed in their signature or avatar. They only require the users real name to be held privatley. Of course, if the user wishes to air this information, a lot forums wouldn't stop it, though a lot would advise the user of the risks attached in doing so, some would prohibit it completely for safety reasons. This is a world of difference when compared to what I was told on FeelTheres forum; that "we talk with our real names on this forum, not handles". First time I've encountered a forum that makes such a demand in nearly 10 years of surfing the web.Infact a well known software company, Blizzard Entertainment recently caused a huge backlash about the same thing, to which they soon changed the policy after a barrage of negativity and threats of Data Protection breeches swarmed them. i'm in the UK and there has been previous mention of Section 10 of the Data Protection Act 1998 which may be considered in breech with users being forced to air sensitive data in this fashion. So, I would ask again, is this a requirement that is built into the FeelThere EULA (or equivelant), that to obtain support by posting on a semi open forum, the user must have his real name on display? And no, in reply to your sarcastic comment about me, or anybody else who has reservations about airing sensitive data in this fashion on full display on the internet, I'm not paranoid, I just protect sensitive information when I can. I see no logical reason why such a requirement would be made, in a a Flight Simulation Forum which is moderated by the developement team, a forum where the level of trolling, flaming etc would be minimal anyway given the very niche area the forum would occupy (when compared to somewhere like Blizzard Entertainment (World of Warcraft) and nearly 11 million subscribers, where even they changed the policy fast because the userbase did not agree with it). Thanks,

Hi, I made a post on your support forum and was quickly told I had to include my real name in the signature of my avatar etc. I am not a paid customer i was looking for pre sales advice. Can you explain why users are forced to broadcast private inormation in this manner just to be able to post on a semi open forum, where sensitive data and data protection should be paramount? Is this odd rule carried foward when a purchase is made? Thanks,
  10. Hi, I'm asking in this thread because there doesn't appear to be a dedicated EZDOK forum at AVSim and the same question I posted in theSimflight forum went unanswered. I have read on a thread in the Simflight forums that you are releasing a major new version of EZDOK, dubbed v2, in the Autumn:"Originally posted by MarniftarrIn autumn we will release EZCA 2.0 where world camera will have coordinates LAT LON. In ver2 the world camera will have all rights as VC or Aircraft cameras. But this feature will use direct memory acess to FS process and will work only in Flight Simulator X + SP2 + English version."http://www.simforums...-very-strenuousI would just like to know if existing EZDOK owners will get this major new version as a free upgrade?Personally I don't own EZDOK yet but I'd like to make sure if I buy now I don't have to buy again in three months time. Thanks,
  11. Take a look at the Lionheart Creations Epic Dynasty LT or the Flight1 Pilatus PC12.I don't know if they do exactly what you require but they certainly handle auto pilot ILS etc and are both boooooteeeeful!http://www.lionheartcreations.com/Epic_LT.htmlhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87hZstAy13khttp://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=fsxpc12 As you can see the Dynasty has modern Avionics compared to the Pilatus. The Pilatus PC12NG has similar modern avionics to the Dynasty but no developer is brave enough to impliment it yet. We can but hope!
  12. I've bought Balearic Islands X i'm just waiting for it to arrive in the post! It does look fantastic though,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQ0VDkv5Q6c And checkout this breathtaking video of the Ibiza approach, I like the look of Barcelona aswell, I thought it was already FSX compatible though (no idea tbh).
  13. I've seen no evidence of sweeping ** for tat "x product sucks y product wins" threads, in the time I've been here and browsed through the back pages. Sure there are always going to be the odd comments, but I guess there are two kinds of Flight Sim developer; those that can take constructive criticism and those that can't. You even admitted purchasing a rival product yourself to compare amongst other things; you can't have it both ways.Thankfully, and something we seem to be in agreement over, the buyer holds all the cards here and can take his money elsewhere for whatever reason he so chooses. I stated my reason for not purchasing your software above, still stand by it, and see no reason to repeat it, or even respond to this thread any further :( thanks,
  14. I decided not to purchase the Eaglesoft Twin Star. I am put off by the smug responses to constructive criticism more than anything. This is an open forum and it is only reasonable that users would compare one developers presentation of an aircraft sim to another. If it were your own forum you could censor any negativity as you please, however, this is not your own forum. Thanks,
  15. Has anyone experience of the Twin Star sim by IRIS. Is the VC better? Does it have more G1000 functionality? Is it better \ worse overall etc?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUWCrKVJAEk...feature=related thanks,
  16. So does that mean one can't create a flight plan on the fly, from within the G1000, whilst in the aircraft and having nothing to do with the FSX flight planner? And (if the answer above is yes) if the aircraft can follow a flight plan that way, when the transition happens from NAV to APR (I realise the terms may be different in this aircraft's AP) will it auto tune the correct frequencies and CRS bearing based on the approach selected for the destination airport?I realise that isn't very real like but the Flight1 Mustang does this and I find it very helpful as I'm a novice. If the answer is no, may I ask what functionailty the G1000 has in this aircraft above and beyond the ability to see flight plans in realtime but not be able to edit them in anyway?Don't wish to sound derogatory, just want to understand a bit more. Thanks
  17. Glad I found this thread, I'm looking for a new toy in FSX, I was originally looking at the Pilatus PC-12 (yes I know it's single engined :() but this drew my attention because of the G1000 which I'm used to from the Flight1 Mustang.I have two concerns though:Does this implimentation of the G1000 include full navdata functionality, sorry if this has been asked before I'm not even sure if that's the correct term but I'm sure somebody will know what i'm talking about! Also, the features page says the VC and 2D only supports resolutions up to 1680*1050. I run FSX full screen on two monitors with the primary being a 1900*1200 screen. I also fly purely VC. Does this mean the VC will look really bad at 1900*1200 and what was the reason to do this? I can't believe I'm the only one who runs VC's at 1900*1200! I fly all my aircraft at that resolution including Flight1's Mustang and don't have any issues! Thanks,
  18. I was all set to buy this, and the deluxe pack or whatever it is that included all the extra McPhat liveries, but all this talk of glaring flaws in something thats been out quite a while is putting me right off.
  19. Is there a consensus about which one is best of these three? My Traffic 2010Traffic XUltimate Traffic 2In regards to out of the box results in generating complete traffic, from commercial, to general, to Military.I currently have Traffic X and to be honest, out of the box results, with traffic settings in FSX at high, is dissappointing, particurlarly General Aviation traffic. So rather than potentially waste time creating a lot of traffic manually I would consider ditching it and buying one of the others if they had significantly better out of the box results.Opinions?
  20. I've googled somwhere that has some stuff I'm after, just wonder if anyone has any experience of them.I'm not suggesting anything untoward just I've never heard of them and want to be sure before I commit.http://www.flightstore.co.uk/Are they ok?Thanks, ceem
  21. Is anyone familiar with using PremierAircraft freeware aircraft?I have successfully installed the DCH8-Q400 for FSX (Acc SP2) http://www.premaircraft.com/DHC8-Q400/index.htmlTest flights confirm the aircraft is working.I then downloaded a number of repaints, again, PremierAircraft's own. Following the instructions where you extract the repaint to the aircrafts folder in FSX, and then edit the CFG file as per the instructions of every repaint.Problem is the new repaints never show up in FSX.Example:airberlin repaint http://www.premaircraft.com/repaintcorner4/index.htmlI extracted the zip into the DCH8-Q400 aircraft folder within FSX. The folder texture.airberlin appears in the aircraft folder. I then follow the instrcutions which advise the following method:5. This will create a new folder named texture.airberlin6. Open the "Aircraft.cfg" file and copy the following lines into it underneath the [fltsim.0] entry. 7. Edit where necessary ( see >>>> below)8. Save the file and close.[fltsim.x] // <<< use next number in sequence in place of xtitle=dhc8-400 Air Berlinsim=PAD_dhc8model=panel=dh849 //>>>>> for FSX change to panel=dh84x_w7sound=0texture=airberlinkb_checklists=dh84_checkkb_reference=dh84_refatc_id=D-ABQBatc_airline=regionalatc_flight_number=AB251atc_parking_types=gate,rampatc_parking_codes=ui_manufacturer=Bombardierui_type=Dash8-Q400ui_variation=Air Berlindescription=Stretched and improved 70
