Performance Notes GTX690
good thing is that p3d v2 performance is very scalable. My system is very low on todays standards, but with clever slider management I can get 20 fps on KSEA with Maule. Cheers!

facetracknoir and opus compatibility
Using FacetracknoIR with SimConnect output mode works great. I must say that I am using plug in that is part of version 1.7 that uses 3 led diodes, like freetrack, I am not using pure face tracking. It (face tracking) is very, very cpu intensive. If you use point tracker plugin with facetracknoir, you will be able to use 640x480 resolution and still get only like 5 percent of cpu usage. Always use Accela filter. You can use other, EWMA filter, but you must adjust sensitivity very good. Both filters can gave you good responsive and accurate tracking if you are patient with configuring of software. If you have any further questiones, feel free to ask

Suggestion between EZdoc & OPUS camera?
EZDok camera has outstanding cockpit shaking that is influenced by many things suck as g force, weather turbulence, camera resonance on touchdown. OPUS is very good too, but I prefer EZDok because of realistic very natural random shaking effects. You will not mistake in either of them! Hope I help a little

facetracknoir and opus compatibility
Lateat version of FacetracnoIR works suprisingly good, that is version 1.7. It has one new additional filter for smoothing out movements and I was suprissed how good it actually works. Give it a try guys!

Helicopters for FSX...Which is absolute best?
Hi guys. Great topic. It would be nice to hear your oppinions about HTR with default Bell 206. What do you think of HTR flight dynamics. Some people think that HTR offers more real , more twichy flight dynamics as in real Bell 206 compared to Dodosim!?

Homemade high quality but affordable yoke, throttle quadrant and peddals
Yes, complete radio panel which is intended for wide variety of aircrafts . There is a software that is written in Visual Basic 6 with fsuipc datarefs. Works in all applications that communicate via fsuipc.Full working also low cost. At the bootom is touch screen - little display for auto pilot functions, also homemade and programmed. I can give additional details and advices is someone is interested. All software is completly free and OPEN SOURCE, you can make it better, it is our contribution to all good people out there.

Homemade high quality but affordable yoke, throttle quadrant and peddals
This is my and my friend's Zoran contribution to flight sim community ! many times I read about various hardware that you can buy for for your flight sim that costs thousands of dollars LITTERALLY. ALL this CAN BE BUILT FOR LESS THAN 50 US DOLLARS INCLUDING MECHANICS AND ELECTRONICS and final product is very close or in some segment better that that overpriced controls that you can buy. Every man with average mechanican works ekill and with very basic electrical experience can build this. many part are those that you can find in your backyard like old horisontal case for pc , water hitter pipes, bike rubber grips, pipes from old washing mashine etc. This is preliminary homemade affordable high guality yoke, throttle quadrant and rudder pedals. Our friend Bojan has made a custom electronick for our homemade controls. Some of the features are: MECHANICAL FEATURES - high mechanical quality of all components and very sturdy design - smooth and responsive controls - yoke travel length for pitch axis of more than 200 mm ( about 8 inches) - yoke travel lenght in aileron axis 180 deegres - sturdy rudder pedals that have 8 inches back and forth movement ELECTRICAL FEATURES - Hight quality CUSTOM MADE ELECTRONICS WITH MICROCONTROLER P18F2550 or any other USB Pic - 10 analog axes with 10 bit electrical precision with 12 bit optional possibility - analog pitch trim control - 16 digital all purpose buttons and separatelly hat switch control - custom sensitivity that can affect individual analog axes adjustable throught custom software - noise free analog axes with posibility of dumping features JOYSTIK_BY_BOKI S59KB 8 BIT (author of elecronics and programming Bojan Kranjc our big friend from Slovenia) * Copyright: S59KB Thanks microelectronics, 2013 This is a simple demonstration of 8 Axis, 12 Buttons and Hat Joystick Controller Possibility of adjusting OFFSET potentiometer USING REFERENCES VREF+ and VREF- Due to the angle of the potentiometer. Great Derek, I never considered Australia for soaring, cant wait to try your home town airport!

Realistic autogen size from Any scenery developer
Do you know any piece of scenery of orbx or any other scenery developer that has a realistic size of houses and trees. I know that autogen is about 2 times bigger that real life in order to conserve a good fps, that is alredy disscused on the forums here, but does anybody know scenery that can give us, virual pilots, an experience as realistic as posible in terms of autogen size. Oversized Autogen size gives a false impression of heihgt above terrain!

Steep turns in general aviation
@ Ken I did not know for your cooperation with FDE gurus like Beckwith and Stolle. Great man, I admire their work in that sim department. It seems to me that every flight manuever that is non standard as to speak, gives sometimes contradictory, opposite result in FSX. Movement of the inclinometer is sometimes REVERSED, totally opposed to real thing. That is a big problem! @ Geofa Sir, I see that you have big RL flight experience. It would be great if you can indicate to us where you have noticed that the simulation of flight dynamics in FSX is particularly compromised ?

Steep turns in general aviation
I realize that, Ken, and thank you for your answer. but there is a flight dynamics modeling minimum that must be fulfilled. Aerodynamics is a complex science, but it is deterministic, not indeterministic. It is not a some sort of unexplained mistery. Good aircraft developers like A2A already do some advanced flight dynamics in their planes. Software that represents actual airplane in a simulator, must at least satisfy things like performance tables when climbing , descending, taking off etc. these are my humble observations, and I hope they will tell their opinions. it's a shamethat this subject is greatly neglected after 20 years of development of flight simulators. please sory for the red letters, but I want to make a valid point

Steep turns in general aviation
Please excuse me for my english language  I agree that saying that yaw axe is a very porly implemented is a bit overstatement. But forgive me, I was a bit sad and frustrated besause I could not do a steep turn with a inclinometer ball rougly in the cage. When Aerosoft Katana (and many other planes which I own and which came from representative software developers like Aerosoft, Flight1 etc...) goes over 30 degree of bank, like 45, ball moves a lot and fast. I try to coordinate with a rudder pedals, I am constantly looking at a inclinometer and with my peripheral vision on to the horisont outside the virtual cockpit, but that doesnt help. I know from my RL experience that when you establish a bank, and when you return yoke to neutral, ball should be roughly in the middle, you only make small corrections to bank angle like you said to keep est5ablished bank angle and add back pressure. When ailerons are neutralised, adwerse yaw is greatly reduced. I agree with you that seat of the pants feeling is gone, but in the simulator you also have a visual reference to the horison, you watch VSI needle for altitude etc It is a CONSTANT and I mean CONSTANT struggle to keep a inclinometers ball in the cage. It is so woobly that I justifiably think it is poor implemented.

Steep turns in general aviation
Hi guys. I have a ppl license almost 25 years now, just to clarify my aviation education. I have a Aerosoft Diamond Katana 4x , general aviation plane which has, in my opinion, best in depth systems simulation for such a little plane. It is a PMDG in general aviation in terms of graphich and systems simulated. Many FSX user consider it to be among best aircrafts ever released for FSX. It is a marvel in the payware section of FSX, no doubt. BUT, yaw axe and rudder behaviour is what concerns me about this aircraft. Every real life pilot must perfect steep turns, in order to get Private Pilot license, everybody knew that. It is a moderately hard maneuver but it IT IS NOT IMPOSIBLE. It is a hard but routine maneuver for ppl pilot. But in 99% of payware planes (general aviation) yaw axe is very, very poorly modeled. I cant get Katana 4X to do a COORDINATED steep turn at 45 degrees. I tried so many times and inclinometer wobbles all around. I calibrated yoke with latest and registered FSUIPC, set sensitivity in slope function of this software, set dead zones etc. I tried everything. Any oppinions? Thanks in advance !!!

Help from RW pilots
Hi guys. I am Vladimir from Serbia and Montenegro.I think that it would be great if real world pilots can help us.Carenado makes visually great airplanes, absolutely gorgeus. But, we desktop pilots, no offense, cannot determine if flight dynamics of particular plane is accurate or wrong. I noticed that for c185 bush version, some good guy that is real world pilot posted air and cfg files that are accurately from his perspective.I think that RW pilots CAN help us a lot. Flight performance of any Carenado plane during CLIMB,CRUISE FLIGHT,DESEND are the most simple but important consideration that flight dynamics creator must satisfy. Not to mention some unusual, much less common maneuvers such as side slipping, adverse yaw of a plane, ground handling etc.I know that AVSIM forum has meny real world pilots that fly Carenado planes. It woult be great to hear fligth impressions and observations of a particular plane that can help us to make realistic flights in general aviation planes.

landclass confusion - landclass enigma for me
Hi Luis!!! Thank you very much for your answer. It menas a lot to us (scenery design beginners) to have some expert like you with us. I am not flattering foy, I mean that. I have started to read FSX Terrain SDK very carefully. slowly slowly I begin to understand landclass system taht fsx uses. You talked about thing called equivalency table. I have a hard time finding it on the net. I realized that without it I cannot do anything (like identifying texture sets that goes to particular landclass). please sorry if bother YOU with my questions

landclass confusion - landclass enigma for me
Hi to all good people at this great forum. My name is Svjatoslav, I am 45 years old. I am from Serbia And Montenegro, former Yugoslavia republic. I was a military pilot for over 20 years and I have 10 000 + hours in russian military trasnport plane Antonov AN-26 I am relatively new to scenery design. I try to read about scenery design as much as I can, but from time to time I must ask other for help. After reading FSX SDK about terrain design I am in very big confusion.I cannot explain to myself how to CREATE A CUSTOM, MY OWN LANDCLASS file that I can later use to make my home town more realistic. I noticed that the product of FTX Orbx - Australia which I admire, has many custom landclass files. EVERY CUSTOM LANDCLASS FILE HAS ITS OWN TEXTURE AND AGN FILE THAT GOES WITH RESPECTIVE TEXTURE. That reminds me of default landclass system of FSX. I ask people who know scenery design and all those who want to help, how to learn to make that kind of scenery, what are the tools. I know that is a wide subject and it requires time amd patience but I am willing to make effort to accomplish my dream to have my home town in FSX look like a real one, like one I used to fly over many years in real life. please sorry for my poor english, and many greeting from Serbia and Montenegro !!!!
