Wear and tear beginning to show:o) maintenance advice needed:o)
Sorry for bumping this thread but I have not seen any answer to this problem. I've experience an Engine fire followed by HYD system B leak, followed by HYD SYS B ELEC pump overheat (I let those failures cascade until this point then took proper action and landed). I have now cleared all failures but I can't refill the hydraulic B tank. Could PMDG please give us an answer on the refilling issue ? The rest of it works perfectly, it just seems that there's a button missing somewhere. I've serviced the hydraulic system and then the whole plane just in case, and still have "RF" indicated and only 30% hydraulic liquid on tank B.
- Can I Step through each leg and have them shown on the ND ?

Thank you PMDG - Come on people, lets make this thread HOT
Very well done PMDG. A fantastic simulation. The best there is by a very wide margin.

EEC question
It is modelled. I've actually only noticed it on my latest flight. Was on a hard descent towards LOWI, struggling to slow the plane down, and the last thing I needed was the engines spooling up to 39% when I put flaps 10 down LOL. The level of detail in this product is mind boggling. If you look under the MCP you can actually see the detail underneath the A/P disengage button. Simply amazing detail both graphically AND in the systems.

I knew it... freeze problem
Who said anyone needed your help ? Are you a member of the PMDG staff by any chance ?

I knew it... freeze problem
Good for you ! Just to clear it up : my NGX is also very, very smooth, and I'm getting great FPS. The product itself has been working great so far. BUT, 1.5 hours of flight after installing HF3, I got a freeze. Whereas I never got one in the previous 60 hours of flight. Maybe it's unrelated, who knows ! It wasn't all caps, though. But yes, I guess I'm part of that group. Thanks for the advice. I don't see where I told anyone how PMDG should run their business though ? Where have I said that PMDG should do anything about anything ? I just gave advice as to what I believe in my very personal opinion people should do if they have no problem without the hot fixes - end of. That's what a piece of advice is used for, right ? Not telling people what to do, or what they should do. Just telling people that if I were them, I would do this or that. I don't see what's wrong with that. Maybe you, with your apparent wisdom, could enlighten me. Exactly my point. I shouldn't have tried to fix what wasn't broken, because apparently (I have yet to fly it again though), I did end up breaking it.

I knew it... freeze problem
Why fix something that's not broken ? My NGX was working perfectly with no hot fixes. Yesterday night, I installed hotfix 3 and everything seemed fine. This morning, GCLP --> LPPT, 300 nm from destination, everything froze, but the aircraft stayed on course. No way to get it back running again. No FPS problems, nothing. I clocked more than 60 hours of flight without the hotfix with not a single problem. Hotfix 3 was installed and that happened. I should have waited for an SP and not installed this fix. My advice for anyone who hasn't installed the hotfix and doesn't have any problem is WAIT FOR AN SP and DON'T INSTALL the hotfix. Plain and simple.

Elec HYD Pump Overheat
Hello Everyone, Small question. I was testing LRC flights on the 737-800WL, doing a flight from SBNT to GCLP (didn't know GCLP was so lame in FSX basic scenery by the way, anyone know a good add-on to fix that?) As I have service based failures active on my NG, I was hit by an FCC-B FAIL (so Autopilot B inop, not a problem) and by 2x ELEC HYD OVERHEAT. QRH said just turn them off and the ENG HYD PUMPS will be enough for the flight to continue, so Okay. Reached GCLP without any problems, and cleared the failures in the FMC. The autopilot failure was cleared successfully, but my ELEC HYD PUMP still indicate FAIL and OVERHEAT, and there are no failures active in the FMC. How can I clear that ? Thanks

No probs with NGX. Alone?
It has been working flawlessly here in more than thirty hours of flight. Hence the question : for those of us who haven't had any problem whatsoever, is the fix a good idea ? Why try to fix something that's not broken ?

The detail really IS enormous
This. Two examples of something being my fault : - The T/O warning beeper was sounding all the time for my first TO's. Didn't know what was wrong. Turns out that you don't have to arm the speed-brakes for take off, unlike the MD11. - I released the parking brakes but the plane wouldn't move forward. After much playing around with the hydraulics trying to see if there was something wrong with them it turns out the shocks were still in place. This plane gets better and better the longer you fly it. There are so many details to notice and take into account. And still if you want to just simply fly a route as per normal checklists and charts, you can do so quite easily. It's a fantastic piece of kit. The FPS are the same as the MD11, only A LOT SMOOTHER, and definitely better than those of the JS41.

Logitech G940 - Spoilers deploy when throttle forward
Hello, First off I'd like to say that the PMDG 737NGX is not only reaches but exceeds my expectations. It is a brilliant piece of software, incredibly smooth, I just love it and can't really get enough of it. Everything works as it should, I have no issues with it, apart from one, which could probably be my fault anyway : I have the Logitech G940 set, which includes stick, 2x throttles and rudder pedals/brakes. Everything works perfectly except that for some reason, when I move the throttles forward, the spoilers deploy. Understandably a problematic situation for take off :D I do not have a registered version of FSUIPC and thus, I do not use it for calibration/key/axes assignments. I haven't changed the assignments I use for standard FSX'ing. Does anyone have any clue ? Cheers

The 1500mw Apeture Science heavy Duty Super Colliding Super Button
Portal 2 is absolutely fantastic. I loved it. It's so fun. It's really cool to have Stephen Merchant's voice as the little robot, because the guy is really funny. It makes you use logic as opposed to stupidness as lots of games do today. So yeah, I'm hoping for a portal 3

The world may not have ended but...
Actually it definitely isn't.First of all, everyone's entitled to their opinion. So that's that. You can believe in anything you want, even Santa Claus. But you can't say that someone who doesn't believe and says so is doing something inappropriate.Secondly, this post refers to a religious prediction. So religion is pretty much on-topic here. Now I know about 88% of the American people are religious, so this might sound a bit harsh. But remember that in western Europe, religious practice and belief numbers often go below 20% of the population. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion on the matter. "Je ne suis pas d'accord avec ce que vous dites, mais je me battrai jusqu'au bout pour que vous puissiez le dire." - Voltaire (You can easily translate that).

Update?
In France, yes, you can get your PPL as young as 16 and do a small license called "Brevet de base" at 15 I think. At least that's how it was when I was 15 if memory serves me. Gosh I feel old. I'm 23 and 15 doesn't seem like that long ago. I was already obsessed with everything even remotely connected to flying.

Update?
AHahahahahThat was a fun read. Some people need to get a life.

a question to i7 users
FSX doesn't use HT. However, if you're going to use CPU-consuming apps such as Adobe Premiere of any (strong) video/image editing software, you'll like the HT technology, it really makes a difference. So basically if you're only planning on using FSX, an i7 2600k is useless.

New 737 Throttles
$2000 ??! For throttles ?If I had $2000 right now I'd buy a new motorcycle with it or something.

Externalities and the NGX
Look at the detail at the bottom of the windows ! It's amazing.

Adding Nav Data Approaches to Cycles
What you could easily do is enter the waypoints following your charts in the FMC and then programming all the altitude and speed constraints. The FMC (or equivalents) that come with PMDG products are fully capable of handling those constraints perfectly. If the waypoints are virtual waypoints (like a distance/heading from a VOR, etc.), you can enter them manually as well in the FMC. I won't go into details on that but it's all in the FMC manual. After doing that, you can save the flight plan and re-use later. Cheers

Externalities and the NGX
Hello,I have a small question and I'm sorry if this has been asked (and maybe answered) before. Will the 737NGX overcome the FSX limitation that until now has prevented us from taxying realistically ? By that I mean with idle thrust ?Not that it would ruin the whole thing if it didn't - nothing even close to that actually - but I find that every little bit counts.Looking forward to the release.Cheers

A little Heads-Up on the NGX...
Hi !The 737NGX looks more brilliant every day that goes by. Congrats to the team.Small question : will the windsheald crack if I accidentaly (or not so accidentaly) turn off the W/SHIELD heaters ? If it doesn't, will it have any effect ? I know it's a pain to answer all the "will it" and etc. questions but if you happen to lay your eyes on my post and are in a good mood, feel free to answer lol. Otherwise, go back to work !!!
