  1. That was some good insight Flexman thank you. I've always looked up at a passing airliner nodding my head in "what could have been" thoughts. Looking back I'm not sure I would have the time to devote to training in a field with an unknown future. For instance I think most people who invest in school to become a Doctor actually become Doctors. Anyways makes me appreciate flight simming a lot more.
  2. Same thing..just drag them to a thumb drive and take it to work.
  3. I love the weathered look. The first thing I do when checking out new aircraft add-ons is the look of the cockpit. Shiny new looks fake to me and gives me the sense of laziness on the artists part. I remember when I was 9 I took second place in a scale model contest..the kid who won first place had his German tank all scratched and full of "dirt"..mine looked like it just rolled out of the assembly line..pretty but not realistic in the long run. Since then I like everything used n dirty looking..just like my women.
  4. Hahaha I always pressed F1 because I thought it armed it..then pressed F2 to deploy.
  5. I have it but only because I was told I should. However I have no idea what it does or what it's for but so far NGX is running fine on my 3 year old system so I'll leave it for now. Once I reinstall on my new PC I'll leave it out to see how things go.
  6. Yes what everyone said above..90% of my FSX performance improved when I went with 64bit. No more out of mem errors and so on. Also when you do get that taken care of I'd go with 6gigs of mem if it'll fit. I recently upgraded to 8gigs and my quad core 2.66/9800 GT is running NGX really nice. Cant imagine when I get my i7.
  7. Watching at full screen in 720p I touched the HAT switch more than once to look out the window.
  8. I notice the same thing. Flying along at FL28 or on the ground. 35+ fps then sudden drop to 12 for no apparent reason. Sort of like little hiccups. Still flyable just annoying.
  9. Oh you mean the FIELD..yeah big pixelation there. I havent noticed that on mine.
  10. Thats the under belly red beacon right? It's just reflecting off the engines. AWESOME. Unless yours are solid through out?
  11. 3 year old system..Win7 64,Intel Quad Core Duo @ 2.66,9800GT,8 Gigs/RAM,running a 24" screen 1900X1200 and getting flyable frame rates. I'm suspecting he has driver or virus issues. I'd do a complete hard drive clean up..re install Windows ect.
  12. You give me hope..I have about the same specs as you other than 8gb of ram and Win7 64. Been holding back on buying but I think I'll go for it now..hey I live right under that STAR.
