  1. Some more pictures: http://www.avsim.com/topic/488507-siberia-ii/
  2. Hi, some pictures of my recent journeys in Siberia: At first from a flight UNIP Podkamennaya Tunguska to UIII Irkutsk, then some "wildlife" at lake Baikal. Have fun! Some impressions from Irkutsk And now the funny part: Myahkiye posadki!
  3. Just an idea: wouldn't it be better to use a dedicated AI model (for instance by FAIB)? The Tinmouse is a rather sophisticated model and may make problems when used as AI aircraft. Although, so far I only found repaints for the UTT and Aardvark AI models.
  4. While you will be able to get very good freeware sceneries for smaller airports in NZ, we all wait for a good NZAA scenery... and wait... and wait...
  5. Hi, this "FL994450GVF.bgl" is the new file installed by the scenery. (Files with the .bgl extensions are still active). In my case, there's another file called "FL994450.GVF", and this should be the deactivated stock file. This is confirmed by the fact that "FL994450.GVF" has the common date of the stock bgl files.
  6. At least in the county I work for, Landkreis Bautzen, rapeseed is grown virtually everywhere. So no problem so far! And then I'll see how it looks in the rest of the world. Harald
  7. Great views onto the Badlands and the Black Hills, which let myself remember the Wild West books of my younger years...
  8. Hi Sascha, just out of interest: Will your spring textures show rapeseed crops? Thanks and good work Harald
  9. A classical Alps tour. Wallis Alps - always a joy to fly over!
  10. Glad to hear it works :-)
  11. If you continue to use the suffix .bgl, the file is still active...!
  12. Me too! Btw, amid the preparations for the next leg, we had interesting visitors today.
  13. Just want to confirm that all works fine in my sim. Some little files - great effect! Thanks to Carlyle.
  14. Memories... This was the plane of my first round-the-world flight: Bernd Drefahls model with FS98, and then David Copleys model with FS9. So nice to see her again!
  15. Wonderful. I also love the last one. Looks like in the Wallis Alps, or where is it? Obviously, XP can also be used as hiking simulator!
  16. Many thanks Patrick! Here, at the lovely riverbanks of Yenisey: Do you want to see more? http://www.avsim.com/topic/488058-late-winter-in-siberia/
  17. Some impressions from a flight Khantiy-Mansiysk - Podkamennaya Tunguska (Bor). And finally we're looking around this former emergency field for transcontinental flights: Will now go fishing or Lada'ing!
  18. ... while the Podkamennaya Tunguska I mentioned above is the site of a former emergency landing strip at the place where river Podkamennaya Tunguska - its upstream area was the site of the meteor strike - flows into river Yenisey.
  19. No big thing here. Once I had to "wait" here a whole day for a connection flight, it was a very interesting "waiting time". It brings me, btw, another idee for your "real world vs. sim" topic - if you allow? Or what about a "do you know this FS9 scenery" contest?
  20. Nice to see a "Carabineros de Chile" repaint here, at LatinVFR's SCEL - in my opinion this is one of the best add-on sceneries in terms of giving the real-world-airport's atmosphere to us simmers.
  21. Thanks WingZ and Erich! At least I can recommend the USHH scenery. One of the freeware masterpieces which can be found at Avsimrus. You'll see more shots of them in the future - we all survived the new Dyatlov incident! Next destination: Podkamennaya Tunguska...
  22. Thanks Mark, HLJames, Bar and Ed for your comments! There may be a couple of reasons for this new incident (less or more probably ones, I'd only exclude the Yeti). I rather believe in carburetor icing, obviously I didn't find the correct switch.
  23. Hi, just want to notify that the Tupolev is en-route again. I still don't know if I will get around the world again; some Siberian flying first and then I'll see... http://www.avsim.com/topic/487907-towards-dyatlov-pass/
  24. Hi, I came over from Moscow, Arkhangelsk and Naryan-Mar to Khantiy-Mansiysk with my Tu-134 en-route for Siberia. I thought it would be nice to sit in another cockpit for some hours before flying further east with the Tupolev. Ural is not that far away, so I decided to make a trip to the mysterial Dyatlov Pass area with a trustworthy Il-14. You know what/where Dyatlov Pass is? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyatlov_Pass_incident This plane already had served with the Polar flying detachement of Aeroflot! Weather was not bad, and so we - two pilots, seven passengers - took of into the skies of the West-Siberian lowland. Crossing the confluence of Ob and Irtysh near Khantiy Mansiysk Then, after an hour, we came closer to the mountains, which hided their summits in clouds. The ascending terrain was still covered by snow. But suddenly, our plane got slower and lost altitude. I found no reason, weather was still comfortable (clouds around the mountain tops, but no strong winds or turbulences, no precipitation). Our plane was last seen very low heading towards the mountains by a hunter skiing in the woods...
