I've just downloaded this scenery, opened the readme.html file and followed all the instructions, and it works beautifully. The attention to detail in the airport itself, the variety of landclass across the island, the windfarm and dozens of small buildings hidden among the trees and even yachts at anchor off the coast are all superbly done. No problem. The last PSS plane I used in FS9/Windows 7 x64 was the Dash 8 Q300, and you have to start that with the default 172 as well. Because the PSS planes were 'ported over' from FS2002 quite early on, there is some vital (magneto?) code missing which would allow a true cold and dark startup in FS2004.

I downloaded the FS2004 version last December from the link on the website. The link installs a legal torrent program which then downloads the files.

1. Go into Settings/Traffic and set the slider to 0. 2. Get clearance from ATC. 3. Go back into Settings/Traffic and re-set the slider. This works on approach too - no more go-arounds.

Yes it's an oldie, but after all this time you can bet the mods you need have already been done, just download 'em for free from the library here and the other FS2004 sites. There will be photoscenery available for your State too, which may be payware, but will be well worth it.

As N60JBravo says, most are the 'code' versions of the on screen settings screens, 0 = option 1, 1 = option 2, and so on. Distances are measured in metres/meters such as 144841 = 90 miles. The best tweak guides from way back explain the rest in some detail.

I am genuinely surprised by this, though I notice you have a Prepar3d banner in your signature - I only use FS2004. Trevor, thanks for reminding me that I have applied every tweak and mod available to the Wilco Airbus series years ago, and FD's were probably among them - I've had them for so long now I honestly can't remember!

You should use the Wilco configuration manager before every flight: Having entered all the details into config manager, keep it open while FS launches and you have the A330 panel onscreen. Program the FMC with ALL the required info such as ZFW etc. from the configuration manager - the more info you give it, the better it flies (there is nothing wrong with the performance model).

I have the latest FlightGear installed, and for a freeware community effort it's a very accomplished and impressive sim indeed. Some aspects are very advanced while others are still catching up, but with every new version they are certainly catching up! This disgraceful ProFlightSimulator ripoff is also being touted in DVD format on eBay, with pictures of the disks, believe it or not - shame on eBay.
