  1. Hi Raul, try searching on simMarket for FSPS - FLIGHT SIMULATOR MANAGER - FREE. Sorry I can't post a link for some reason, but this utility seems to set any situation you select for any aircraft you choose.
  2. By that logic, somebody somewhere should keep making blank video cassettes in case you feel like buying one sometime?
  3. You might have to export them first, as .txt, .doc or .pdf format for example.
  4. This happened to my sky textures when I added Alpha channels to all the bitmaps in my FS9/Textures folder. You can restore your sky textures from a backup or your original install disks.
  5. In sim, select Tools/Traffic Toolbox/Settings and untick General Aviation. This removes all GA globally until you re-tick it back on. Traffic Toolbox is part of the FS2004 Traffic SDK which you can download from FS Nordic, FSDeveloper etc.
  6. "There are Lies, Damned Lies and then there are Statistics." As a loyal FS2004 supporter, I'd say the FSX stats are wrong!
  7. I download from AVSIM whenever possible because it's a LOT faster than the "other" site. I also use the superb WOAI Package Downloader utility which I have linked to my AVSIM library account: http://www1.metacraft.com/VRC/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3705&sid=cd62965237c1ab43c5bef864cc6e16b8 Looks like I'm not the only one....
  8. Tune your ADB to 401 and slew in that direction. The 'falls' effect is at about 4,000 ft, way above any terrain - and I've tried it with and without FSGlobal 2010. I've deleted the whole thing.
  9. Well, patience is a virtue! We understand that Luis is busy with other work and doesn't have time for trouble-shooting an old freeware project - I just hope someone can provide the scenery to him in an un-encrypted zip file so that this server problem won't happen again.
  10. Hallo theltalpha, Is there any further news on Portugal Terrain by PTSim please? I would really like to have this scenery myself, I even tried re-installing XP to get the setup.exe to run, but I still get the run-time error '364' even in XP. The problem seems to be at the Server end. For those who haven't heard of this scenery, it is landclass, photoscenery, roads, rails and rivers etc. for the whole of Portugal. There are over 20 airfields, airports and landmarks designed especially for it still in the AVSIM library. If anyone does have this scenery installed, please contact PTSim and let Luis know, this is what he has posted on the PTSim forum: Re: Portugal Terrain - cannot reach PTSIM & runtime error 364by Luis Sa » Tue Jan 05, 2016 10:04 am Hello, In order for me to resolve the installation problem of Portugal Terrain, I need to get an old PC where I keep my old files, install FS, and see what has changed in the hosting company that now holds all the PTSim and SBuilder stuff. Due to attacks and spams I had to go to a different company. Than the interaction between the install programme and some scripts that worked on the PTSim got broken. These scripts are essential to decipher the encrypted files that are contained in the ZIP that you can get from this site. There is an alternative solution to this problem - if someone has a working ( running) copy of Portugal Terrain and could make a ZIP archive with all the files in an plain (not encrypted) form and send it to me, I would place the file available in this site. If that is not possible, I will make the effort of going back to old stuff and try to sort it out. Maybe it would be fine if someone is available to help me in this job, that is, testing the modifications that I could introduce without me having the necessity to install and run FS! Thank you very much and my sincere apologies for this matter, Regards, Luis
  11. If you have a brake axis on the Saitek, it may need re-setting in the config and the null zone re-setting in FSUIPC. The Tinmouse Hydraulics system may need to be running as well, check the manual!
  12. Sesquashtoo - "You continually take an adversarial stance to most anybody's postings." And we ALL agree with that, Sesquashtoo. Mods, do YOU?
  13. "RW pilots abhor using speed brakes. Considered a screwed up descent if speed brakes are needed." I've flown around the real world four times and seen speed brakes in use on every type that has them fitted. They wouldn't be there if they weren't needed. And they are needed because in the real world ATC often needs to make last-minute changes to maintain safe separation on approaches.
  14. You already know the only fix, which is to toggle to windowed mode and back using Alt+Enter. Rolling back to Windows 8/8.1 won't cure it, as the same issue exists there too. You would need to roll back to Windows 7, Vista or XP to get the "normal" full screen menu back.
  15. Hi Martin, the landing light/taxi light splash which is visible from the cockpit is built into the model itself and can't be edited.
  16. Re-run the VTBS scenery installer and when it shows you the installation path, click on Browse and navigate to your FS9 main folder, then click OK. Your current VTBS installation is on your Drive D, so assuming that your FS9 is on Drive C, FS will see Drive D as a remote location and if you have Clear Scenery Cache on Exit checked, it will not remember that location which is why VTBS doesn't appear in the Airport ID list.
  17. There could be two issues causing this CTD: Textures issue: This could be a missing texture from your CLS DC-10 (have you tried this approach in a default aircraft?) or from an AI aircraft at EHAM (have you tried this approach without AI?) The fix would be to replace any missing texture(s) or convert all 32-bit textures to DXT3. Default EHAM AFCAD issue: This is a known error with the default EHAM AFCAD, and there is a fix for it by Jim Vile which is a .bgl file that corrects the ILS approaches. Anyone who doesn't already have this fix should search for Jim Vile EHAM or Schiphol and install it immediately. It works with the default EHAM and any other add-on, freeware or payware.
  18. All the textures will work in Windows 7, if they are installed in the aircraft folder but don't show then the aircraft.cfg entry is incomplete or incorrect for the Airtours livery.
  19. You're right, and my .bgl is the fixed one dated 2007. It must be copy protected, if you PM your email to me I'll zip it over to you.
  20. I've just decompiled the same .bgl using bglana31, then recompiled the .asm file with sca296. Just drag and drop the .asm file onto the scasm.exe icon and the .bgl file appears in the same folder.
  21. The issue is not the size of the paging file, but the fact that it may have become corrupted in it's current state: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/892610 Resetting the paging file size to default (which could also be smaller than current size) would hopefully clear any errors with it.
  22. I once ran Process Monitor out of curiosity and was surprised to find my FS2004 was constantly searching for some tree texture or other, causing a memory leak. I created a notepad file and saved it in the main Texture folder as tree_su.bmp or whatever the name was and that fixed it.
  23. I would allow Windows to manage the page file size just in case, FS2004 does use it. On my Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Windows has allocated a minimum of 12mb, recommended 12283mb, currently using 8189mb on my 1tb HD, and I've never had an OOM crash.
