Inherent flaw of FSX to give too much ground friction?
Bartbear replied to chabrier's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Guys aren't we sliding (or skidding) slightly off topic now? I am so happy that my favorite GA aircraft don't behave anymore like the sledge of Santa Claus during the landing. :p0504: -

Great ! Can't wait for an Accelerator version update ! :yahoo: Johan, yes there's something wrong at your site: http://fs-mp.com/sim1/ with: sim1_ACCEL_121203.zip It doesn't load. -
check my planned brand new I7 system , any thoughts?
Bartbear replied to henry's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Make sure you take an i7 K-version you can overclock. absolutely necessary for FSX !! Take your SSD a bit bigger, at least a 128 GB. If you plan to put Windows 7 - 64 bit and FSX on it, take a 256 Gb if you can afford it; I have an 160 Gb Intel 320 SSD and have only 50 Gb left now with my expanding FSX. For the rest: great machine! PS: very recommended reading stuff: http://#####.wordpress.com/fsx-software-and-hardware-guide/ -
Don't forget to check your NvidiaInspector settings after installing the new drivers. I you follow the Word Not Allowed Tuning Settings http://#####...hardware-guide/ look especially for the: Antialiasing - Behavior Flags : NONE (was reset as usual to : Treat 'override any application setting' as 'Application-controlled' ! ) But also no problems with the new driver as usual.

Inherent flaw of FSX to give too much ground friction?

I just dowloaded the patch for my FSX Gold Edition pack and installed it. http://fs-mp.com/sim1/ I made a dozen landings with my favorite Carenado Baron 58. One word: FANTASTIC !!! On a dry runway the aircraft doesn't skid anymore like a bad landing on skis in the snow. AMAZING ! The landing feels much more realistic and controllable. I shall test it also in rain and snow and with other planes now. Johan_Dees it looks like you have a real winner here. To me it feels like one of the most important improvements ever made to FSX in the order of SP1, 2 / Acceleration and the Word Not Allowed Tuning Guide. Thank you so much ! -
Word Not Allowed did some interesting performance comparison tests with FSX and P3D. There is a compability list to. Look here: http://#####...nce-comparison/

100% CPU Usage!
Bartbear replied to Rezetoks's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etc
That's normal, your i7 3770 goes into 'Turbo Boost Mode' (i think from 3.4 tot 3.8 Ghz) because FSX eats Ghz for breakfast. Pity you didn't buy a i7 3770 K you can overclock to around 4.3 - 4.5 Ghz, because FSX needs as much Ghz as possible. Do you use the Word Not Allowed Guide? Then the indication of the use of the CPU will be at around 70 to 80% because Core 0 of the processor will be used less and mostly for Windows, while FSX uses Core 1,2 and 3. See: http://#####.wordpress.com/fsx-software-and-hardware-guide/ -
If you follow the Word Not Allowed Guide, Windows has it's processes mostly on Core 0 and FSX on Core 1.2.3. Quote from Word Not Allowed's Guide: [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=14 This tweak, on a quad core, moves the FSX onto the Core1 (2nd core), to basically split fibers and main thread. It is good because Windows is usually having its processes on the Core0, so moving to Core1 is giving FSX more breathing space. It is also sacrificing one texture thread, since all that comes after Main Thread are Texture Threads. This means FSX is running with Core0 – Fibers, Core1 – Main Thread, Core2+3 – Texture Threads. That’s OK like that. For a quad core running HT off, this should be 14. For a quad core running HT on, this should be 84. End quote.

Good modifications of default aircraft
Bartbear replied to simmerhead's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
I use the OZX Grumman Goose HD Redux 1.20 to, it's a great plane. Better interior:high resolution virtual cockpits, better exterior: 4096 pixel textures, 2 different engines and much better ground handling and dynamics than the default FSX one. Download: http://aussiex.org/f...e-hd-redux-120/ -

The free RealAir air- file for use with the default FSX Cessna C172 is very good. The download page says: 'Cessna 172 for 2004' but it's compatible with FSX with no problems. http://www.realairsimulations.com/list_box.php?page=downloads -
Carenado Beech Baron 58 stall recovery fix
Bartbear replied to Bartbear's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Finally, with this tweak the Carenado Beech Baron 58 has become my favorite twin engine piston aircraft for funflying in the Swiss Alps. Now it's perfect. Just love it ! -
Read the Word Not Allowed Guide: http://#####.wordpress.com/fsx-software-and-hardware-guide/

Right! But this is old news, read Word Not Allowed's Guide: it's all in there ! http://#####.wordpress.com/fsx-software-and-hardware-guide/

See in the AVSIM 'Unofficial Carenado Forum' > 'Baron B58 FSX' here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/392756-carenado-beech-baron-58-stall-recovery-fix/

I know for some this is old news but i just discovered it. See: http://forum.avsim.n...4589-adf-stall/ http://forum.avsim.n...l-fix-uploaded/ The fix for this stall recovery problem of the Baron is also on Flightsim.com but it's wrongly put under 'FS 2004 General Aviation' instead of under FSX ! Look for: b58_stall_fix.zip Thank's a lot to Bernt Stolle (Inactive Member_bstolle_***) for the fix !

The 3 most important things that a PC for FSX needs are: 1. An overclocked i5-K or i7-K ('K' type) Intel CPU with as much Ghz as possible (4.3 - 4.5 Ghz or more) : it will NEVER be enough since FSX eats Ghz for breakfast. 2. An NVIDIA videocard. The minimum is the GTX-560 TI. Higher is better for use with higher antialiasing settings and less loss of framerate in dense clouded weather or stutter in extremely dense scenery. 3. Word Not Allowed's 'Software and Hardware Guide' : http://#####...hardware-guide/ To have a locked constant frame rate of 30 or better, in FSX, with lots of addons, ALL sliders maxed, everything ON (yes: also Light Bloom and all the traffic (aircraft, planes and cars)) in ALL circumstances like heavy clouded stormy weather, at or above very heavy dense scenery with a plane like the PMDG 737 NGX, you need a CPU with a clockspeed of AT LEAST 8 Ghz. So as this won't be available in the first years enjoy your Word Not Allowed tuned smooth flying FSX with it's 20 to 30 frames until we all have something like P3D 2.0 (?) or maybe another new player on the market .... ^_^

I have it sometimes (randomly) with the Carenado Beech Baron. For me going a few times from fly to slew mode and back helps.
