  1. I know your team must be crazy busy.. my ticket is 238-23396938-0456. Thank you! Kristof Barocz
  2. For me, Norton was the problem. Ezdok stopped working after I installed a new addon scenery and pmdg 737NGX repaint. After numerous attempts and solving this issue, I uninstalled Ezdok, reinstalled it with my Norton completely disabled and added the Ezdok exe to Norton's exlusion lists, and now it works. Kristof
  3. Prior to PMDG's 777, I flew my 737NGX with an average FPS of 15-20. After installing the 777, my FPS dropped to 5-8 FPS for both the T7 and 737NGX. I've played around with the settings for days, carefully followed Word Not Allowed's tweaking guide and read all the threads relating to performance issues. I finally had some success last night after updating my Nvidia driver and creating a new Fsx.cfg with the 3 recommended tweaks. I'm seeing 8-12 FPS on average with the 777, but the 737NGX is a bit slower at around 8-10 FPS with default scenery and low to mid FSX settings. My laptop is definitely sub-par, so I never expected much, but I was somewhat surprised at the decreased performance. Why would the 777 affect the 737NGX's performance? KrisYYZ

    777 Rocking problem

Are you using VNAV? If so, try using FLCH or speed intervene via VNAV instead and see if the problem persists. Just an idea. Kristof
  5. Nice! Thanks so much for posting this. KrisYYZ
  6. Overall, I think she is amazing. Like with the NGX, it will take a few months to really feel comfortable with the flight dynamics, commands and overall set-up of the aircraft. The 777 sure flies nice! I do miss the some add-on applications such as a fuel planner and take-off calculations, but I'm sure all that will come in due time. Kristof
  7. Thank you for the update! I appreciate PMDG's devotion to quality and reliability. PMDG's products are as real as it gets, so it is quite fitting that much like some Boeing and Airbus aircraft, the first delivery is delayed in order to work out some bugs and to ensure a top-notch product. Greatly appreciative of all your work and dedication to the FS community. KrisYYZ
  8. Very happy to hear this fantastic news! Thank you PMDG for all the work and dedication involved with the 777 project. Pay week, 5 day vacation and probably the best FS add on ever being released, life is good! KrisYYZ
  9. I actually watched some JustPlanes videos last night, the pilots did enter the ToC wind in the PERF INIT page. Thanks for all the input everybody! Kristof
  10. So if you are doing a short flight, let's say less than 500nm, entering the TOC wind as the CRZ wind on the PERF INIT page is sufficient. However, if you are doing a longer sector, entering the average wind component would be the best approach? I recently flew KDEN-CYYZ in a B738, I had to change altitudes several times due to CBs and winds variations. I updated the winds on the LEGs page to match the new winds aloft (based on AS2012 flight log) and my ETE was still off by about 20minutes. Is that the correct procedure? Thanks, Kristof
  11. Thanks for that! I wasn't sure if the AS2012 weather snapshot txt file includes global weather or simply included the weather for the flight plan loaded in AS. So I take it you could change the route and destination in FSbuild as long as AS2012 is going and you'll still get an accurate weather picture. Thanks, Kristof
  12. Thanks! I meant say TOC wind, not TOD. Entering the average winds make sense. I appreciate your suggestion, but one of the reasons I got AS2012 was to inject a level of realism into FSX. I was worried about the S-turn issue with PMDG, but I haven't experienced it yet. As mentioned, I've played around with the winds settings so I don't get massive changes in wind direction/strength. Currently, I load up AS2012, then start FSX once I'm parked at the gate in the PMDG737, I start FSBuild for route planning. However I have to reload the flight plan within AS2012 after the route is complete so I can get the waypoint winds. Is that the correct order of setting up a flight? Greatly appreciated, Kristof
  13. Hello, Sorry if this has been addressed in the past. I'm relatively new to using FS build and AS2012 with PMDG. The 737s FMC page asks for a CRZ WND entry. Is it better to use the TOD wind or the average wind component for the CRZ winds entry? I did some flights using AS2012, and the winds aloft from AS2012 were not as accurate inflight when compared to the AS flight log predictions. This affected the ETE. What method do you use to connect AS2012 wind predictions and PMDG CDU planning? Thanks Kristof
  14. Don't expect much with an Intel Graphics card, I fly my PMDG 737 on a laptop, but it does have a Nvidia Geforce graphics card. I'm running FSX with a framerate locked at 30 and getting pretty good FPS, granted the internal graphics settings are set to almost the minimum. It took me a while to fine-tune everything so I get the best performance with the best possible quality. You may want to turn off the co-pilot displays, external animations and reduce the display refresh rates via the PMDG-setup page found in the PMDG CDU. KrisYYZ
  15. Thanks for posting this! I love EHAM (both in FSX and real life). Did you use a SID? Only asking because it looked like you maintained runway heading for a while and most EHAM SIDs make a quick turn after TO. KrisYYZ
  16. Simply amazing! Well worth the wait. I'm especially happy about the system performance, I was worried that I will need a new PC to run the 777, but if it will be less demanding on my laptop than the NGX, then I have nothing to worry about. Thank you PMDG for all the time and work you guys are putting into the mighty triple seven! KrisYYZ
  17. Pretty good chance of that, I think he was or still is the Chief Pilot for Swiss. KrisYYZ
  18. Same here, JustPlanes has made 4 or 5 LX films. Eventhough Swiss is owned by LH, they have a better relationship with Justplanes. I don't think LH let's Justplanes film their flights due to a strong relationship with Pilotseye. I'm very happy about this order, although I was hoping for a new 747-8 operator. It will be interesting to see whether LX goes with the dreaded 3-4-3 config in economy. KrisYYZ
  19. Thanks! I appreciate everyone input. I will give EZDOK a try. I did a few flights last night with mixed results. The HUD is great, but it seems to make my landing worse. I'm using a zoom of 0.60, as I've read that is the most realistic in VC. Perhaps I will try zooming out less and see if that changes anything. Thanks again.
  20. Hello, I’m sorry if this has been covered before; I did search and I did find some similar posts, but nothing that addressed my question. I recently switched from flying the 737 with the 2D layout to using the VC. I was very hesitant to abandon the 2D view due to my laptop’s performance but I adjusted the FSX setting, settled for a bit less eye candy and now I’m sold on flying in VC mode. I’ve read the numerous posts on this site about the 2D vs. VC debate and while I understand both perspectives, flying VC give FSX a far more realistic feel. My landings were almost always right on the centre line and in the touchdown zone when flying in 2D. But since I switched to VC, I tend to drift towards the left on short final (not due to wind or engine failure). I also have a bit of difficulty in getting the VC camera back centre for landing or take off. I tried using the “reset viewpoint” key but it stops working after a few times. I realize that it may take some time to adjust to the new sense of depth and height in VC mode, but are there any programs that help realign the VC camera? I’m currently using a great camera add-on that allows for replays, but it doesn’t seem to help in VC mode. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. KrisYYZ
  21. I was under the impression (perhaps a false one) that Engine AI only needs to be activated inflight if you are flying through weather, especially CBs.
  22. Exactly, I don't think that blue line on the N1 indication should be there once the A/T has reached the desired N1 limit or setting. It looks like your N1 is at max cruise rating. I believe the option is called A/P inhibits throttles.
  23. FSRecorder is the best in my opinion. I usually stop recording on the roll-out at about 40kts, and reply the landing before starting to clean-up. Don't even put the spoilers down before hitting play..
