Sometimes whille starting to intercept the LOC. I notice no arrow then look at my display which now says Im on a backcoarse. This happened in Daytona Beach KDAB I was landing on 25R loc frq 109.7 took right from the approach plate. This happened before at KRIC Rny 34. But on the richmond flight I did it again and there was no B/CS the 2nd time everything went fine. Any clues? Dan Thompson

Thanks for all the help. Setting the date on fs before the flight cleared up the out of date problem and entering on the rte area did the same for airways. But I am noticing more and more airports that when Im on final and the G/S ahd Loc are dead on the rumway is a good 3-4 degress off.....as the world turns and variation changes I guess. Is there any fix for this problem?

I updated the fmc from navagraph. It was the latest 2013 update. When I bring up the FMC it indeed shows the update but down below it says its not up to date. Is the somewhere I can change the date in the config. to correct this? I get no help from navgraph. #2 I still cant figure out how to enter an airway ie J41 or J55 what ever. I can enter waypoints along the airway that work fine but on long flights Id like to be able to insert just the airway. What am I missing here. Thanks. Dan Thompson

Updated the FMC with 2013 but the FMC still shows its not up to date. Boy you really need it in Alaska some of those airports are way off centerline. Oh you know the show on TV that shows Unakleet Alaska? MSFS sure missed that one the airport is nothing like the real one. Is there an Alaska update you know of? Dan Thompson

I use ch pedals, but when I set the brake it just keeps poping out so I have to lay my heals on the brakes while at the gate....any help

I remember someone saying if you are getting your sound breaking up every few secounds you should check thw sound settings and set it to either mono or stereo. But when I go to the settings I dont see that anywhere. Im using logitec headset with no external speakes.. Can someone help me out? Dan Thompson

Not sure if this is the area post this but I have been using ch pedals and saitek yoke with no problems...well one problem every time I set the parking brake it pops off. But now I show differental braking in red at the bottom left of the screen. I can hit the parking brake lever turning it off and on and it goes away for a sec. but then pops up again. any ch pedal users out there that can help? Thanks Dan Thompson

I have a saiteck yoke and ch pedals ...im able to cal. the yoke but the pedals dont want to play. they work in flight but are way off. When I try to calibrate fsx gives me the same routine as the yoke.............what am I messing up? Thomas Thompson

FSinstantapproach? thats new to me...sounds interesting. Anyway as stated above by "avantime" hes right Ive been flying since 1969 and its a lot harder on a sim than in real life you just dont have the feel of the real thing. Maybe my settings are bad. I use a saitech yoke. But the response time to my imput time seems slow can you recomend a null setting? Thanks to all for your imput ill keep trying. Thomas (Dan) Thompson

Ok I know this is an old subject but.......with a no wind condition on final approach everthing is just dandy...oh no other aircraft landing or taking off. Everything is great until i turn off the A/T and cmd A ...well its still pretty good. I like a decent of about 300fpm or so, but as I near the threshhold Im having to make big corrections from side to side I can never get an approach that says on the center line so i end up on one gear slapping it down on the other. I would be fired with all my bad landings.....any secrets out ther to make a good approach? oh and is there a simple way to practice approachs with out going through the fmc everytime. I know I can fly manual bringing it in to the rnwy just thought someone out there had a good system they use to practice or a certain airport that makes t and goes or full stops easy.....thanks for your help..Dan Thompson

I just want to use the voice for simple commands such as takeoff and landings. Flaps up gear down and up can I bypass the cold dark and just use what I need?

I notice sometimes taking off i show the inner marker middle marker on my nd but when i make an ils approach they dont seem to show up. Is there a setting im missingThomas Thompson

I think I know what I might have done. When i entered the second star I noticed nothing was happening after I hit ex. So I placed the first ils fix first to fly direct to it but the old star still showed up on the nd. Should I have deleted the way points on the first star. Before entering the secound star? I still haven't found the way to delete the did or star completely in the fmc in the flight manual. Thanks thomaI'll get more details on my pc and the flight if I can duplicate it again.
