  1. I'd add that putting ingame planes with nothing special to do with them is something I still have a hard time finding intelligent...
  2. What else is there to say : MS has used very little perception on those choices, was even badder in communicating with the players, as bad as preventing the posts in the MSF blog... IF they had been able to reconsider their position during the whole no-cocpit mess and tried in any way not to get the FSX community against their new project... Same feelings & actions here :P
  3. There is a new AotD, Coconut Island, near Hilo. This one is in the game since the past 4 ours and is working. We have a change of rythm, AotD start time is now 08.00AM GMT if I'm not mistaken... :)
  4. I have bought the "Deluxe" (AWFUL WORD HERE !) version of the Cub SS directly ingame and had no problems. It only got two paintjobs, differents from the VCless Cub, moving map as GPS, no floats, no skis confirmed. No new missions or tasks added for it. You can still get 4 pax + pilot in the 2 seats cubby I now think that 1200 points, same price as the Maule, is too high...
  5. Hum, the editor is showing strange behavior to me, there is a wandering "attached image"... The pics I was talking about (last flight I was there) :
  6. Ok, it's not Iditarod's race, but same players in Alaska, so simplier to keep the thread for our flights pics here :acute: So let's start, last night's flight I catched the flight late, but here are my pics (maybe not in exact order) : Some bugs... And a few more from the ground : Oh and maybe you saw, but MSF team posted one pic from one of the "german/ int'l multiflyier" that I sent to them. You will recognize it (they posted 2 of my pics on the blog & on FB, for the Alaskan screenshots topic, the other one is the green& white RV-6 descending on foggy rwy)
  7. More or less a knight of icchi icchi icchi Patangg here...
  8. Haha I saw sooooo many of them everywhere, like ou can land on the oil extraction platforms and still be some cms above the ground. Flight crashboxes are very approximatives, remember the John Rodgers field storage facility and other similar stuff
  9. Hehe, It could be taken during flying too :P I tried to catch all the 147 aerocaches I've got so far from inside a flying plane, the hardest for me has been the keyhole in Hawaii... Never do by foot what you could do airborne
  10. I think we get another "light" DLC, no pics of other set of wheels (non Tundra), skis or floats, so the CC is going to be exactly set as it is now it seems, only with some more liveries and an IA5-like cockpit map... I was kind of hoping that the Carbon Cub DLC would happen to be the 1st plane with variations. It's better be cheap, particularly during or after the Steam sales !!
  11. About the yesterday AOTD and the "tour of bugs" it seems we are doing with Alaska's AOTD, has someone seen this ? It is on the cliffs between the two bigger islands
  12. If you like VOR to VOR flying, you might get a look to MS Flight...
  13. I just typed the title of this thread : "unique airport" in the search engine above to find your post Hook, but maybe I'm used to search engine (journalist was one of my life )
  14. More cockpits, more gameplay !

  15. Tips : use the search engine to look for already posted informations being there or not :) http://forum.avsim.net/topic/368616-mystery-airstrip/#entry2326555
  16. And what about an organized flightplans library in Avsim's one ? Or maybe post on this site, that is already organized for : http://www.fsdestinations.com/ This site already has some VFR flightplans for Alaska, like this one trip to McKinley http://www.fsdestinations.com/flight.php?todo=detail&idflight=126
  17. Typing his own intentions during flight has been great for me in multiflyer sessions. It will look like : "Delta Mike (or DreadMetis) preparing flightplan from 'here' to 'there', 2 tons of cats onboard and a moaning copilot", or "Delta Mike 5 miles inbound for ILS or visual landing at Kahului", "DM to Hilo ground, runway 03 cleared..." or any little sentences I've heard from real radio-chatter or from former multiflyers in FSX. I noticed I had 3 very differents responses : - the "no answer" response, like I do my stuff and do yours, whatever. Can happen in you session and in others'. But most of the time the pilots behind this behavior are "afk" ! - the "kikoolol" answers are more like they will try to understand your position & course from your sayings and arrive full sped ahead with a P-51 or any other warbird, straight at you on finale (but I have put rear mirrors in my plane : esc on any contact attempt till "it" change session). They are tending to be more rare for me, but this kind of player is bound not to totally disappear, so live with it and look around for collisions attempts :D After all, the game is a game for everyone, even if I don't understand some of them... - the positive answer is the most usual one : people would respond with their positionning, wherever they would be, simmers or not, young or old, male or female, in mission, tasks or free flight. It just tend to demonstrate how positive feedback is spreading as quick as the negative one. Besides, being able to play not only on my own (over "Klondike" solitary I now prefer a shared Alaska B) ) a game that has lot to teach is very valuable, and tought me a lot in less time !
  18. While waiting for news about the Cub's DLC, I had a look at my stats, both on microsoftflight.com and ingame. Stats from the MSF website : Total Flight Time 315:41'46 XP 3,673,889 Distance Traveled (nm) 42764 Hours Day 254:45'10 Hours Night 60:56'36 Hours Backwards 00:15'51 Hours in Multiplayer 275:35'17 Inverted Flight Time 04:10'45 Hours in Missions 206:59'14 Consecutive Spins 193 Crashes 744 Out of Fuel 10 Stalls 797 Aerocaches Visited 145 Highest Altitude (ft) 96807 Fastest Reverse Speed (kts) 952 Fastest Forward Speed (kts) 1989 Maximum Negative G-force (Gs) 44 Maximum Positive G-force (Gs) 124.5 Total Landings 1,290 Highest Landing Elevation 18680 Strongest Crosswind (kts) 68 Total Passengers 541 Frightened Passengers 31 Happy Passengers 385 Rescued Passengers 4 Sickened Passengers 146 Satisfaction Percentage 67.28% Total Cargo (lbs) 116852.04 Secure 100% Damaged (lbs) 0 Clandestine (lbs) 65073.01 And my stats from ingame which are different from the above : Awards 63 on 106 Achievements 31 on 38 Unique aircraft flown 30 Distance Traveled (km) 79199 Around the planet 2 Consecutive Spins 193 Highest Altitude (m) 29507 Fastest Reverse Speed (kmh) 1762 Fastest Forward Speed (kmh) 3683 Highest Landing Elevation (m) 5694 Single airports landed 70 Strongest Crosswind (kmh) 126 Satisfaction Percentage 71% Total Cargo (kgs) 53003 Secure 100% Damaged (kgs) 0 Clandestine (kgs) 29516
  19. Yo :) You should check the Steam forum about bugs, Here is a topic with other players' pics about the exact same problem about some 2D shapes appearing in some positions. Loki has asked to post locations and pictures for debugging. It is not your card http://forums.steamp...d.php?t=2787689
  20. I borrowed the FSX 2 DVDs from a friend, installed it, started the sim, it then asked me if I wanted the game to act as a demo or if I had a serial. Selecting Demo mode will allow you to fully test the whole game for a limited time I think, I haven't even tested . I just started Plan-G, and it get all what it needed for the all world. Worked like a charm for me, but I had the ability to install from the DVDs. Though I guess any DVD images should work the same way (starting as a demo with no serial or/ and registration).
  21. Very good tutorial, I hope it will be pinned ! Another thing you could do to get the database is to install & try the demo of FSX (preferably with SP1 & 2), then run Plan-G for getting the database. You then can uninstall FSX, Plan-G will have kept the DB for its purpose. I don't really know about the juridic part of this process... Any clue ?
  22. Ups, my beg : Caesar was Heimi Cool flight, I had great pleasure sharing this portion of the sky with you guys ! I hope you had fun with the waterski ! Wow, a 13h flight would have been a bit long indeed  !!
  23. The Ghost Plane is in the game ! Good story  If we had a mission editor, we could organize a SAR party to look for your plane :P
  24. First, let's get back to Caesar what belongs to Caesar : the idea of the Iditarod's flight is not mine. Stephan aka Duesselwings had the idea of making this thanks to a post that was started on Steam. You can find the thread here. http://forums.steamp...d.php?t=2785849 Stephan decided to make this race as a flightplan, with the use of Plan-G and Gmap. I must say all this could not have been done with all the feedback, advices, tricks & tests we have been seeing around here, and I want to thanks the community of Flight's pilots whose help is really appreciated :Applause: The meeting time was friday, the 6th, departure at PANC, Anchorage. Plane : the Cub (and after my initial grunt, it was a good choice I must say). Lenght of flightplan is 859NM, last airport is Nome. You can find a copy of the file used for the route there. As there was some problems with the Live, it was a bit complicated to start on time alltogether. And as I had a surprising visit from a friend passing by late, I had to interrupt the flight after a landing at Tin Creek, with a persistent 12kts crosswinds and 45ft hight pines all around the place, trust me is was a hard landing even with the Cub !. Another thing that is still a bit complicated when you want to use Gmap is that the screenshot key ("V") is not working anymore. So I have very few pics, only some on the ground just before I left, after around 4hrs of flying, fun water skying, being just "Wow" when we saw a big bridge in the middle of nowhere, travelled a snowy passage, changed weather 3 times (really sounds like Alaska !)... If any of the other pilots could post their pictures here they are welcome
