  1. It's such a shame that the project was doomed from day 1 due to not realizing the need for deluxe aircraft after day 1 until it was too late! If they had a deluxe aircraft release after the first basic aircraft then development on flight would still be alive. I just hope that now they open it up so we can get the deluxe DLC aircraft this sim deserved bur that MS management refused to give it. R.I.P flight. Your small number of deluxe aircraft will be sorely missed
  2. Oh boy... your insurance company is going to LOVE(!) this story... :P
  3. sounds like you got caught in the famous turbulence that plagues the downwind side of mountains. Best thing to do is try to get out of the downwind side before you suddenly find yourself experiencing a high-speed lithobraking event... or just avoid the downwind side altogether
  4. I wonder if it is possible to hydroplane in MS flight as shown in this video
  5. Well... looks like I might be returning sooner than intended... Once the cockpit is released I will give flight another shot (W/ alaska scenery of course!)
  6. For me the release of alaska was the last chance I was willing to give it. No cockpits, sloppy airfield placement, no missions, no aerocaches and no proper snow effects have sealed flight's fate to be nothing more than a casual naked money grab from Microsoft. Flight is gone from my computer for good (Well at least until an aircraft with a working VC is delivered which at the current rate will be.... yeah; for good!)
  7. Just like what a real commercial pilot would do!
  8. I finally managed to break mach 1 in the P-51 a couple of weeks ago. Assuming you can get it high enough you should be able to get it to mach 2 (Once you break the sound barrier it becomes much easier to speed up so if you can crack mach 1 you should also be able to get mach 2 if you have enough fuel and/or altitude to do so!)
  9. This is the make or break DLC for flight. If they do not release an aircraft with a working VC with this then flight will be doomed to fail.
  10. I have noticed no new aircraft screenshots yet. Trying to hide that there are no cockpits in this DLC Microsoft?
  11. Vince Offer? At this stage I doubt that even the late Billy Mays can save Flight if the team does not take their head out of the sand and release a "deluxe" aircraft with a fully working VC soon!
  12. Good, but too optimistic. Taking into account recent trends: Free preview will not exist Expansion including only the state and aerocaches will cost $20 Missions to go with the expansion and ONE new VC-less warbird will be sold separately at $30 One useless aircraft with a full VC will be sold separately for $50
  13. I agree 100%. Alaska is my last chance im giving MS Flight. I do have faith in the team, I just dont have any faith in Josh Howard and how he has changed the team. This is the absolute final chance I am giving flight as well. If they do not include a single aircraft with a full working VC at launch then I am done with this casual/arcade "sim" game for good
  14. I would not be surprised if that is how it actually happened while developing Flight
  15. Don't get your hopes up; at this rate M$ is going to release 100% VC-free aircraft with this next scenery package and maybe a couple of missions to make it appear to be worth what they will charge for it in order to rapidly part a fool and their money. It will look good, but then again so do the VC-free warbirds.
  16. Who knows, maybe we could just end up with the planes "Jumping" from the edge of the hawaii map to the edge of the Alaska map, skipping most of the flying time with a loading screen
  17. I saw the "New content available" notice on steam and sure enough it is ANOTHER-... calm blue ocean... calm blue ocean... calm blue ocean... calm blue ocean I am uninstalling flight until a new deluxe aircraft is released. I gave them one more chance and they failed. Agreed. Flight is now fully uninstalled and is not going back on until Microsoft change their ways and start regularly releasing "deluxe" aircraft with full VC's
  18. The point that they are TRYING to make which you may have missed is that even FREEWARE birds for FSX have at least SOME form of cockpit view! Why is microsoft changing that by making cockpitless planes that would not even be thought about by every sane aircraft developer being sold for money here when they would be free in FSX?
  19. Pah! I got the stearman up to FL 510 while in the beta (And got the 5k proxy and thin air awards to prove it!). I'll have to fire up flight again to see if that still works in the release version...
  20. Note to self: I owe one internet to whoever posted that
  21. That's rather clever.... I hope you want a polaroid of the rear of the fuselage! :P It reminds me of one time when I was doing formation flying in another (free yet crappy-ish) flight sim when one of the AI planes decided to do the famous manoeuvre. I could just imagine the ai pilot "Keeping up foreign relations" as their cockpit hovered directly over mine
  22. Are you one of the guys that hates people speaking their mind and saying what other people are afraid to say?
  23. No cockpit and/or no simultaneous release of deluxe (Basic in FSX terms!) aircraft= instant 0. No exceptions
  24. Well... it turns out they do not like people speaking their mind of the official beta forms (Beta testers only). I have had my access revoked so expect to see me around here a bit more often
