Thanks, I figured as much also use PS6 with Quixel. Still, PBR in P3D will look a whole lot better.

I definitely interested as a painter. I do like how War Thunder and iL2 Sturmovik uses self-reflection in their models. Not sure if P3Dv4.4 does this hoping v5 will add self-reflections or in future versions. So really looking forward to your tutorials!

Starting with Prepar3D v4.4, Lockheed Martin was requested by Textron Aviation to remove all of their intellectual property likenesses. Previously, Lockheed Martin had an agreement with Beech Aircraft Corporation (Beechcraft) for inclusion of their aircraft likenesses. In 2014, Textron Aviation purchased all Beechcraft intellectual property and they recently asked us to remove their likenesses from our public Prepar3D builds. We continue to work with Textron Aviation to reintroduce their branded aircrafts so our users can have even more great examples of training and simulation in Prepar3D. Interesting though you never see these guys use some form of flight sim for testing. I used FSXSE for testing, but that will have to change since it doesn't support PBR. With P3Dv5 and AMD Zen 2 arrival next year, maybe that will be the turning point in getting an AMD system. That will depend if AMD costs undercut Intel's prices. For now, I'm going to give the 9600k a shot good or bad.

Same with what I went with, not a 4k user here. The 9600k can do some high enough clocks if need be (5.2 lottery). The price is right and coming from a busted ancient AMD 965 Black/ATI 5850 system I think it will do fine for my needs. Photoshop and Quixel is my main use... flight sim is a sideshow. I might do some flying when P3Dv5 arrives. Going to have to learn PBR texturing for sure. Although I got to say I wouldn't mind a monster system and I do like high-performance cars! 😁

I went ahead and ordered an i5-9600k with EVGA CLC 280 water cooler all on Cyber sale. For gaming, it's Tomb Raider and Uncharted series on the PS3. Holding out to see what PS5 will bring. I'm holding out for P3Dv5 when I get back into simming again. I'm more a GA flyer myself when I did sim with all the Orbx scenery. Looking forward to Deadstick!

Haven't flown since a year ago due to a computer failure and waiting for the great Intel 9xxx/Nvidia 2xxx releases. Wasn't worth the wait after seen Rob experiments on the 9900K/Nvidia 2800ti stuff. Anyways building one now from Cyber Monday sales. Crazy deals right now!!! Well years before that happen, just working with Manfred on the Douglas C-47 project. Most of that time was learning to use Photoshop 6 and Quixel programs. Can't wait to get back to that and AH F3F-2 project.

2080 Ti's dying!

Maybe solved and kudos to EVGA response in the freezing posts. Solved: Widespread 20-Series BSOD Issue Likely Monitor Dependent Dead 2080 Ti #1: Clock Freeze at 1350MHz, Stuttering, Crashing -

Do you intend to stay on P3Dv4.3 for a while?
TuFun replied to Simicro's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
Skipping P3Dv4 for now, awaiting v5 with a new computer build next year with a "Super Intel i11 processor and Nvidia 3018". 😆 -
I need a new PC, new OS, didn't purchase much so I'm good to go with P3Dv5 or go with FlyInside entertainment sim !

Some of the ones I enjoyed... "Always" with Richard Dreyfuss, John Goodman, Holly Hunter (babe), and Audrey Hepburn (classic lady). "633 Sguadron" with Cliff Robertson, George Chakiris, Maria Perschy, Harry Andrews, and Donald Houston. "The Blue Max" with George Peppard, James Mason, Ursula Andress, Jeremy Kemp, and Carl Schell as the Red Baron. "Dive Bomber" with Errol Flynn, Fred MacMurray, Ralph Bellamy, and Alexis Smith. "Flight Command" with Robert Taylor, Ruth Hussey, Walter Pidgean, and Red Skelton. Some of you might remember Red! Not everyday you see someone rip a radio out of a Grumman F3F-2 aircraft! Also using a fog landing device in the F3F.

I find this statement about DDR4 Memory from Hilbert (Guru3d.com) interesting... DDR4 Memory For Coffee Lake-S (8th and 9th Gen Intel procs) and DDR4 we always say, volume matters more than frequency. A 3,200 MHz kit, for example, is more expensive and does offer better bandwidth but the performance increase in real-world usage will be hard to find. Unless you transcode videos over the processor a lot. As always, my advice would be to go with lower clocked DDR4 memory with decent timings, but get more of it. Don't go for 8 GB, get two or four DIMMs and in total a minimum of 16 GB. The reason we test at 3200 MHz is simple, we do the same for AMD Ryzen and want to create a fair and equal playing ground for both. 3200 MHz is, however, a very nice equilibrium for both processor brands.

I get way more educational knowledge by using P3D! 👨🎓 😉 -
