installation trouble on 64 bit windows 10
MaDDogz replied to anitelite's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Not entirely sure, Are you admin on your system? are you installing as admin? try installing into <Drive>\FSX instead of program files. -
Is your windows 64 bit? is it fully up to date? that error code can be a few different things related to visual studio, possible corrupted download on last update. have a look through this, some good info on the problem ( I know your not a computer guy, but it explains in steps - how to.) https://appuals.com/fix-0x80240017-unspecified-error/

Archive/Rename/Move this Forum
MaDDogz replied to TechguyMaxC's topic in The Microsoft Flight (2012) Forum
Can’t work out why avsim would waste bandwidth / storage hosting a forum that has zero use. Microsoft has given up on it, and has another sim coming altogether. It’s over. This forum should be archived. -
Asked many times and as you say, the pots are pants! ive never seen anyone replace them, as they are Chinese (!) and no replacements can be bought. I have gone as far as stripping the one I had apart and cleaning the brass strip very gently, but it’s a waste of time, the problem came straight back. this is a sim destroying problem, and really hinders your experience in the sim in many ways, taxi, takeoff, climb, approach, everything. I would strongly advise replacing with something that has Hall Sensors. They are magnets...different altogether, and allows throttle settings to the decimal point (88.9 ..91.4..91.5 ect) instead of suddenly jumping all over the place in a ridiculous fashion. I replaced mine with the Thrustmaster HOTAS warthog. Pricey but it’s quality, and my sim experience went from a stressful affair to very enjoyable one.. Yes, it’s a stick instead of a yoke, but the precision the Hall effect sensors offer is another factor. A nice flair is now doable, witch I found almost impossible with the yoke that pairs with that throttle...another thing that kill the sim experience. A yoke with hall sensors is in a different price league altogether, many many more hundreds. I spent the money because I use the sim a lot. You may not and might just use it a little and may not want to budget that much on a controller...either way, just replace it with something else, you’ll have hair for longer.

I would download and install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

far right, report post...but honestly you don't need to. You would not be arrested in the UK for calling someone a SP*****. Yet. anyway, pretty sure the mods will see it them selves and make their own decision. -

🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 INFO ABOUT PRODUCTS ACTIVATIONS The activation code has been removed from our products, you do not need to ask for activation code anymore, disregard installer prompt about key request. New installers for P3D and FSX has been uploaded, please download keyless installers/modifiers from HERE The correct sequence to remove time limit and the need of activation key is: – run as admin main installer (core files) which you downloaded from our distributors, either SimMarket or JustFlight – download and run texture installer, available from this site using SUPPORT menu. – download and run vACMI installer for your platform (if needed) available from this site using SUPPORT menù – run keyless installer NOTE: keyless installers must be run always as last: – SSW-keyless-installer-unified-FSX-v1.0.2.exe for FSX – SSW-keyless-installer-unified-v1.0.2.exe for P3D v 4.x Ww suggest if some problem arise in model behaviour to download and install latest MSVC runtime (2015-2017-2019) libs available from HERE (Italy): We recommend to localize properly pending on your country 😂👍

I can only agree it’s an awesome piece of software.

🙄 ok then, is 64 bit code in p3d different to 64 bit code in p3d 4.5? the op states he’s bought it already for a 64 bit sim.

Is this $10 to move a runway a new thing with ADE? I've never seen it...and I’ve made from scratch, edited others, all sorts 🤔
-
Hi The airports you describe look like that in a standard FSX Scenery setup. To make it look like what you have seen, you will need to purchase add on airports. Flytampa make St Maarten, and includes st barts as part of the scenery (the runway is still flat on this one but the rest is right) https://secure.simmarket.com/flytampa-maarten-complete.phtml Aerosoft make Lukla: The runway is sloped on this one https://www.aerosoft.com/en/flight-simulation/flight-simulator-x-steam/sceneries/2916/lukla-mount-everest-extreme-for-fsx

Well, they say they do it separately to decrease download time...I don’t understand that myself. bit harsh, don’t you think? They just gave you an add on for free, you have no basis to complain. It’s your fault, bare that in mind, that you failed to read the install description...and went ahead and installed half the product, then complain. you could say thanks...

Punctuation Ray, barely readable 😉😁
