Will we ever see a new version
^ Yes, thanks for reminding me. Sign me up for that too. Although i have been issued a hold position from time to time (always remember to select the pushback option if pushing back) and it worked quite well. I found that when i am holding short at my local airport, the planes landing have to backtrack so they can exit the runway. The problem is that they take a turn and want to exit exactly where i am holding short instead of taking the next turn which is clear. Most of the time here, i find myself face to face with another plane, but after some time they disappear. The program knows i am there because the AI planes will stop a couple of meters from me but it would have been great if somehow it told the AI planes that the taxiway/holding point is already taken and so they should move on to the next available one. So yeah, improved ground traffic is more than welcome.

Yeah i support that idea. That would probably be the best solution for us and Tegwyn. Because the way i see it, it could get quite frustrating getting flooded with emails from all of us yapping over features. Lol.

Traffic Alert/Traffic Routing
Well at least we know the product will be improved. Thank you for sharing.

Looking forward to what he has to say about this.

Will we ever see a new version
I would really like the idea of DLC packs like UK Enhancement instead of a new product. I really hopes he improves the VFR component of this great product with new content for other regions as well as the IFR component like adding a direct to option and rejected take-off option.

Small aircraft taxi behaviour
I had this trouble with a couple of airports myself. Orbx airports, exactly. What i did to fix them was open up ADEX (Airport Design Editor) and basically started to re-do the whole taxiway paths and nodes. It was tedious job but it paid off.

VoxATC and VAS
Hello Daedalus, I am not using P3D. But as far as i know it is down to your RAM and GPU when TTS voices come into play. I am also using quite a few with Vox Atc and mostly for the controller voices, but didn't see any significant raise in VAS while using them.

Weird taxi instructions
Jumping in and also confirming that this sounds like a problem with the AFCAD. Had this trouble with a couple of airports myself (some ORBX airports to be more precise). I jumped in and fixed them by using ADEX (Airport Design Editor) and basically started to re-do the whole taxiway paths and nodes, a time consuming task but it paid off in the end. You are not the first person i hear that has problems with 3rd party airports when it comes down to AI and ATC programs. I don't know if i am asking too much but, try without the addon airport. See if you get the same results !?

FS2Crew and VOX FO
As far as i am aware, there is no way to soft-mute your FO in Vox ATC. The only way to go is to toggle him on or off.

SID/STAR
Yes you can download it manually without the manager, on their website there is a category in the FMS Data page where it says Manual Install.

VOXATC not allowing me to depart
Just to let you know, i ran a circuit at Gloucester (EGBJ). Take off runway was 36 and everything went smooth, no hickup besides an AI turning in a circle one time around the taxiway centerline trying to find the path (not a big deal) but in the end he departed the airport without any other incidents. I did however took a peek on the airport AFCAD made by Orbx with ADE and edited some stuff they put in there i knew Vox would dislike.
-
SID/STAR
Exactly. You got it spot on. The page has suggestions on how to set up everything and honestly it's kinda of a straightforward program, it shouldn't give you any trouble. The current AIRAC is 1014 and all you need for Vox Atc is Level D 767 navdata. Or you could download it manually from the manual install category. But you have to create an account and of course purchase it.
-
SID/STAR
Vox Atc uses AIRAC from Navigraph, specifically Level D 767 navdata. By now i believe you know that you need to add the path of this navdata into the advanced settings.exe tool of Vox Atc. To confirm that Vox Atc picked up the navdata, run the Procedure Pronunciation Editor tool and load an airport with SIDS and STARs, you should see the procedures names there.

VOXATC not allowing me to depart
Interesting, i use those too i should do a test and see if i can re-create the issue you are experiencing. I also have the Alaska scenery and indeed i had to do some modifications regarding some of the airport AFCAD's to make them useful in Vox Atc, because even though they look visually appealing, apparently they weren't created with AI traffic functionality in mind.

'unrecognized aircraft' / PMDG NGX unofficial KLM livery abort
Yes, you should develop a habit of running that indexer every time you modify something related to your aircraft or scenery.

VoxAtc 6.46 fatal error after initializing
Yeah, i have heard that some people had problems with vox pop voices but personally, i have never encountered issues with them. I would firstly install vox pop base and then the voices. And it works like a charm. Glad you sorted it out though. Try to also play with the sliders from inside FSX and after that set the windows volume mixer to a value that helps you hear the voices from vox atc. I also had problems hearing them over the fsx sounds and after playing with the sliders inside the simulator and the windows volume mixer, i found the balance between both of them.

VoxAtc 6.46 fatal error after initializing
I can't seem to recall, it was a pack i got from a friend who works at a studio, Acapella or something. So you managed to get it to work ok?! I am glad you sort it out. As for the voices volume, well, if you already maxed the volume for every voice in the voiceconfig.exe utility and you still barely hear them, i guess the only viable solution is to lower your fsx volume from the windows volume mixer. I've set it about 30-35% and i found it to be the best balance between fsx sounds and vox atc. PS: In the case of the vox atc "fake" error i would press pause twice after the program has finished initializing and showed the "vox atc error, please close vox atc". I have it sometimes when flying circuits, but if it is caused by the voices it won't work and you have to sort it out with the voices that cause the problem.

I don't get permission to start an engine
Awesome, told you . Even though i was keen on buying the product at first after trying the 7 day demo period, i was instantly convinced by the excellent support Tegwyn showed by extending my demo period and by answering all of my questions. Overall, imo, it's a great product even if it takes some time setting it up. Too bad that it's not that publicized.

AI Traffic
As far as i understood, those packages that have traffic scripted locally on airports and such are indeed not supported. For example i bumped into some UK airport addons that had GA traffic and had to disable it. I don't know how FTX traffic operates but as for UT2 and My Traffic it has been confirmed to work without too much of a hassle. Fsx traffic must at all times be at 0% because Vox generates it's own random schedule for the traffic you have and controls it. You will have to spend some time setting up everything to work for example MYT has some afcad files that will cause some weird traffic behaviour if you also use custom afcads, so you have to delete or move the duplicates, but once you got it, it is a great experience.

AI Traffic
Yes to both your questions Damian. Vox Atc will use any traffic you have installed. For Ultimate Traffic 2 however you need a tool called UT2 bridge. I use My Traffic 2013 and it works like a charm with Vox Atc. Just make sure to run the Vox Atc Indexer after you install and properly configure your traffic addon. I did't use FTX traffic but i think it will work also.

I don't get permission to start an engine
Try to contact Tegwyn, the developer. He helped me alot during testing and extended my demo period. Explain the issue at hand and i am sure he will help you as well.

I don't get permission to start an engine
I see. You could also try the specific flight plan training. Give it a shot. But you must save your flight (.FLT file) with the flight plan first, in order to use that tool. I just tested it on a vfr flight at Stevens Anchorage International and ground gave me the all clear to start up upon hearing my request. Also keep your prompter window open and read the exact message that it displays. Once you know the exact phraseology by heart, you can use this window just to enable the program. To me this issue you are encountering sounds like the problem i had before i kept the program into a serious voice training session. Also i would suggest trying to first fly the training flights provided by the developer with the manual at hand, so that you can verify if everything is working as it should.

Shot in the dark. Did you run the voice trainer so it can get used to your voice?

VoxAtc 6.46 fatal error after initializing
I had this when trying to fly circuits or local. The cure for me was pressing the pause button twice. Once to pause it and the second time to un-pause it. After that it worked ok. I would ask the dev honesty if the software supports windows 8.1. Just to rule that out. Also you might want to delete that folder inside windows/roaming i think, with the name Internal workings for a full uninstall. And just to be clear, for sids and stars you have to get Level D airac from Navigraph and specify the path to this nav data under Vox Atc settings. Otherwise the program doesn't know how to assign your sid and star. Now regarding 3rd party tts voices, i had this error when using a couple of them, not the voxpop ones though. You should check the voice config tool and test them all just to rule this one out also. In my case the pesky tts voices would crash the tool and that's how i found out why the program wouldn't start, so i had to delete them. I replaced them with another pack an presto, no more error at startup.

AI aircraft using my parking spot
Count me in too. I also encountered the VFR airport zone transit problem. It seems it plagues the european region. It happened this way in my case. After transiting to the end of the airport CTR zone, i report clear of the zone and the controler simply goes <callsign> tower, pass your message, like he has forgot about me. And no matter how many times i repeat myself he will still say pass your message. As you said the only way to clear the problem is restart the program or just avoid the airport control zone. The weird part is that sometimes it works and i get a frequency change approval and sometimes it goes into that loop. As for the part with the parking spot, i mostly keep under 50% traffic so i never encountered the problem. I found that the sweet spot for me is around 25-35%.
