  1. I am more less like the OP. My "civil sim" was the fs9. Boy did it give a lot of things to learn. But my true interest is warbirds. What once halted me to migrate to fsx was because the performance due to my medium high system. But with all the available warburd add ons for fsx..they are all easy on the fps. Real shootings and explosions have always been lacking in fsx, but the flaw is easily paid off with realistic system in simulation wise. But i am happy you have finally found what is best for you. I wan once there
  2. Ryan, that looks awesome! Great repaint for a great add on
  3. Thanks Bob. Excatly, just did a crosscheck of what you said about MAP and RPM and the parameter mentioned is not poles apart. It is preferable to apply 2000 RPM and 20 MAP when doing rapid descent. I wonder, how did they manage to keep the spark plug in a good condition during dogfights and aerobatics? I didn't knew that plug could give so many troubles. If you re not in hurry, there is a freeware (donationware) version of AntsAirplanes T28A. The A model has the same wear and tear engine feature although a slightly different cockpit config. However, it is much slower (T28 800hp. T28 B/C/D 1425hp). I really want to get into the B-17, but I am waiting for their Piper Cherokee. Seems they might release it before this month ends.
  4. A2A did it again... 180 page manual for a Piper Cherokee...this is a study aircraft for sure!
  5. Thanks for your time answering the questions. It gives me a big picture of engine management. I am not a real pilot so this is pretty overwhelming at first. However, at cruise, the Cylinder head's temperature is relatively low even with supercharger and high rpm (mil speed). Descending makes the temp even lower even with cowl flaps closed. Normally, one tends to decrease throttle when descent, but then it will make the cylinder head temp even lower. Sometimes before I was on final approach, the plug had been in poor condition. It does help after I read your reply several times, there are somerelevant ideas of what you are explaining. Although I dont own the B-17, T28 was built in almost the same era. The spark plug fouling is the most common failure in T28 Trojan, that's the manual says and that's what happened to most all of my first flights. Thanks Bob.
  6. That's true. The direct replacement of Texan is the A variant, which is slower than the D model, although latter hundreds of A models were converted to D.
  7. I have been experiencing spark plug fouling in almost all of my T-28 flights at cruise alt. I learned that I have to keep the CHT at an acceptable temp, which is not too hot and too cold, also. That includes managing MAP and cowl flaps like every time at almost all phases of flights, even on the ground. I have to make periodic change in mixture every hour. I am having a lot of fun, but confused at the same time, especially the concept behind MAP. I might set the MAP too low in high RPM, but how? What did I do? Did I decrease the prop when the throttle is in high RPM? What should I do to make a proper adjustment to the MAP since in my understanding, MAP and RPM are in conjunction with Throttle and Prop. I nearly see no difference in both parameter when I apply various power in both knobs. I am not even sure what I am asking now since it is too overwhelming :fool: but your enlightening about MAP and RPM would be just great thanks
  8. OK. Just two more question for users before I give it a go. (I will anyhow) Does the weapon system actually destroy or damage the objects included in SimObjects (i.e. ai aircraft)? Does the gun firing too make damages? Thanks
  9. Thank you sir, very informative, and I am surprised that with their price range, B/C/D simulate engine's wear and tear too.
  10. The T-28A (free version/donation) is very joyful to fly, it's rather slow (800hp?) but the model is really really nice for a freeware! What's the different between T-28B/C and D by the way? They sell them separately. The T-28D is a standalone. From what I have been reading, the engine power of both models are alike, and the cockpits are similar to. I'll get one of those but not sure which, and I don't fly/to from carriers
  11. My only concern is how it will perform on my medium end setup. Hopefully Carenado is able to offer customized performance adjustment. Some users would sacrifice eye candy for better frame rate (or perhaps it is only me).
  12. Dont have this ac but I feel you guys. Now they're planning to release another Seneca which is steam gauges, I will consider that for sure, glasses are out of the questions for my setup. Would they ever consider warbirds since they are good at model only?
  13. RealAir has shown its quality not only for their amazing products but also their honest support for their customers, hence the whole community.

  15. Tom. This is correct. While the scientific calculations and analyzed information received may be close to the truth, the investigators are now looking for other possibilities. No, I am not talking about it had been shot down, but the fishermen and residents' accounts who had officially filed their seeing a low aircraft flying on the day MH370 was announced missing in northern Malaysia are being re evaluated.

  17. This is true. so true. Carenado stole the first move advantages, but that's all. I know which to pick between Carenado 172 or RealAir/A2A's 172.
  18. English language proficiency is one factor for some countries in Asia.
  19. Sir, you could try to add a default GPS window by editing panel.cfg inside the aircraft folder, not quite realistic, but perhaps your Stuka is the one that has been retrofitted in compliance with FAA regulation? lol A slow climber, a deadly diver..
  20. Malaysian authorities have issued an unsubstantiated claim. No debris, it is completely understandable that many refuse to believe the MH370 "ended" in the Indian Ocean. Especially the families. Not without evidence. One can claim anything
