  1. Yeah. Same for FSX and P3D. Unfortunately I will have to wait for my GTX 1070 until Christmas when they are back in stock, and at standard price in the Canadian market. Thanks for your help guys
  2. Yeah. But that is 30-45fps with no groud textures at all lol. Just a flat airstrip with no buildings XD
  3. Yeah. Thanks
  4. Hello I am getting really bad Frames in Xplane Steam. Specs: i7-4790k @4.0Ghz AMD R9 290 X-plane is on a HDD https://thomaskal.gyazo.com/a350cf598850cd8aac9ea97a61d5e6a4 Every setting is on almost the lowest, and sitting in the VC of a Jar-Design's A320 I get 30-45fps. Is there anything I can do besides overclocking my processor to change this. I have watched videos on YouTube of people with i7-4790k's @ 4.4Ghz Does .4Ghz really make that much of a difference in FPS?
  5. I will defiantly try that. The more processing power going to the CPU the better. Thanks
  6. I have a R9 290 (not X) also. I guess what I am looking for is another "addon heavy simmer" that has the same CPU as me, no overclock
  7. Yeah. I know a FS Youtuber had a i7-4790k overclocked a little (like .5Ghz) and a GTX 780Ti and was getting well over 40fps with tons of 3rd party addons. Which is what I hope to achieve.
  8. Right. Thanks for the help guys. I have heard AMD cards are terrible when it comes to FSX and P3D. Thats why I was wondering.
  9. Hello. Very sorry if this is in the wrong place (Ill do better next time), I want to know if I should upgrade from a AMD R9 290 (not x) to a GTX 1070 for Flight sim (FSX:SE and Primary P3D) I have an i7-4790k @ 4.0Ghz stock. Will this upgrade bring more performance to my sim. Someone over on the P3D forums recommended to another user to re size the window of FSX and see if the frame rate goes up. It didn't. I'm not sure if this is because of the AMD card or my CPU bottlenecking. I don't think its being bottlenecked, but I know the AMD card doesn't help. I am currently getting about 17-25FPS in the PMDG 737 NGX at KJFK, Thanks for the reply's in advance
  10. And..... Just read the Forum Alert..... OOPS

  12. This is a very annoying issue. Its not just you but I think it happens when you click on another window and FSX becomes "unfocused". I would try running Ezdok as an Administrator. Apart from that, restarting Ezdok seems to be the best option. (I recommend pinning it to your taskbar) I don't know what ellse can be done for this issue. Hope this helps a little. -Thomas
  13. Thank you all for your suggestions, I will definitely do more research into the EVGA 970 and I might think about overclocking my 4790k when the warranty on this PC runs out. (I bought it from cyberpower)
  14. Hello all, I would like your opinions on a graphics card for P3D that will best suite my rig. My current setup is as follows: CPU: Intel Core i7-4790k @4.0Ghz (NOT willing to overclock) GPU: AMD Radeon R9 290 (NOT X) Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97-HD3 Power Supply: 800w The case has got room for a full sized GPU With P3D I use: All PMDG's Aerosoft A318-A321 Payware scenery for most popular airports (EGLL KJFK CYYZ) With my current GPU while flying into the airports listed above^ in the Aerosoft A321 I get about 15-20fps. 15-20fps I can deal with, but it is when I step into the PMDG 737 that I get frames in the 10-16fps range. I have all the drivers for my GPU, and have tweaked P3D (Which has helped some), and I have the latest updates/patches to P3D. I think it might be time to retire this card. I was thinking something along the lines of an EVGA 970? If there is anyone reading this with this current card that sims on P3D, I would greatly appreciate a response. I don't really want to go above $450 CAD. Thanks for your help. -Thomas
  15. From what I have heard, I will be using the "FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.005" as my first issue is now resolved. Thanks everyone for their time and support, -Thomas
  16. I just found this out from another user. Apparently in version 2.5 of p3d the 'SimObjectPaths" were taken out of the Prepar3D.cfg and moved to a whole new simobjects.cfg in C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2. That was what was missing. Thank you guys so much for your help and suggestions, I can now mark this topic as solved. Best regards, -Thomas
  17. I Can't thank you enough bakayoyo. I can now marked this as solved. Thanks everyone for your advice Thanks again, -Thomas
  18. I am sorry, I did not explain fully. I am trying to model-match with Vpilot. I have done the setup needed in VPilot but I need to add this to the CFG: SimObjectPaths.9=SimObjects\IVAO_MTL This (below) is supposed to be there already under the [Main] section of the cfg but it is not and adding it in doesn't do anything: SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\Airplanes SimObjectPaths.1=SimObjects\Rotorcraft SimObjectPaths.2=SimObjects\GroundVehicles SimObjectPaths.3=SimObjects\Boats SimObjectPaths.4=SimObjects\Animals SimObjectPaths.5=SimObjects\Misc SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjects\Submersible SimObjectPaths.7=SimObjects\Weapons SimObjectPaths.8=SimObjects\Countermeasures
  19. Hello, this is my first time posting on any forum so I hope you can forgive any mistakes that I will make. Getting started, keep in mind that this is a completely fresh install of P3D v2.5 and a newly generated Prepar3D.cfg with no changes made. It is hard for me to describe what the actual problem is, other than the config looks very weird and much different than other people's P3D configs. Other peoples CFG's look much different and have more lines of code. They are also not pushed together like mine is. Below is my Prepar3D.cfg I made sure that the paste did NOT alter the file in any way, this is the way it looks for me. If anyone knows what is going on here and how I can fix it, I would greatly appreciate a response. Thanks PC Specs: Intel Core i7-4790k @4.0Ghz 16GB of DDR3 Ram AMD Radeon R9 290 (Yes I know it was a bad choice) [Display] ChangeTime=4.000000 TransitionTime=4.000000 TEXTURE_FILTERING=16 MSAA=8
