Looks pretty. Would be nice to get a look at the VC in daylight though.

I can't even see a smidgen of evidence that P3Dv5 is even anywhere near the horizon. I read through that post earlier, and it's pure clickbait. I've no idea how people can fall for it.

Thanks Scott, that looks interesting. And a freebie might be a good way to check out the train simming world to see if it's for me or not

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Still not not sure what to go for haha. But it's nice to see all the options in one place.

God thats good although if they can afford to drive a Scania R620 TOPLINE, they could afford to buy a modestly priced train simulator.

Aye, I have it, and a couple of the expansions. It's pretty good but it gets a bit...samey after a while. I'm guessing TSW does too, but I just thought at least it would be a bit of a change.

Knowing me Neal McCullough, Knowing you Rich Bates. A-HAAAA.

So I've been taking a bit of a break from flight simming lately. Just kinda lost interest in it. I've spend hundreds on addons and I know it seems ridiculous to lose interest in such a hobby I've invested so much in. But that's just the way it is. Hopefully it's only temporary. Anyway, I was looking for a change, and I've noticed there are a lot of train sims on the market now. I'm what's the best way to start out on such a venture? Which sims offer the best options in terms of expansion? Obviously I don't want to make the mistake of investing a lot of money too early on, in case I realise it's not for me further down the line. I'm based in Ireland, so anything European would be ideal. I have a Steam account, but I'm not sure if Steam is the best option, as it may have limitations in terms of expansion. So what is people's advice?

Yeah, I've seen that, Ed. I'm guessing it's going to be a long wait though.

Are you using P3Dv4? If so, then it won't work. Eaglesoft haven't converted any of their products for use in v4. It's a shame, because their Citation X used to be my favourite aircraft.

When I'm not simming I'm usually to be found in political groups on Facebook, arguing with right wingers. I need to get a life.

I've only ever had one (very minor) issue with a Windows 10 update. I am always surprised when I hear of people having problems. -
Air France Flight aborting landing in 44 knot winds
nealmac replied to HiFlyer's topic in Hangar Chat
Well done, crew. To be fair, it looks like they were crabbing, rather than the wind 'pushing them sideways' like the report says. -
Aerosoft Summer sale 30% off!

Looks like it's ended -
Just read it. That looks very promising. For those wondering about the upcoming changes to Dublin, the new north runway won't be ready for another 3 years. That's ages away. I don't want to have to wait THAT long. The new runway could always be added in an update later on anyway. I'm still surprised that Aerosoft didn't update their version (yet). It's pretty obvious that there's a huge demand for it.

Aerosoft A320/A321 Professional - Delayed again
nealmac replied to edpatino's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
I don't really understand what you're trying to say. You don't seem to be able to distinguish between a target and an official release date. This is all beside the point anyhow. We all know that they didn't make these targets. This isn't exactly news. The only news right now is that there's a 4 day delay, from the official release date. The ONLY official release date that was ever given out. I get that people are impatient, and people love to bash certain developers. But another moany thread over a 4 day delay? Do me a favour, -

If you can show where he said that that was the official release date, then I will happily concede defeat. -

nealmac replied to edpatino's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
It's still not a release date. This is exactly why developers have stopped giving release dates. Did you read the rest of my post? I noticed you only quoted the last bit of it, which isn't actually the important part. -

Again, this was never a "release date" or a "deadline". -

I'm sorry, but that isn't a release date. The word "probably" might give that away? The first hard date they gave, was the 6th of September. They never committed to a fixed date until just a few weeks ago, because they didn't actually know. So no, I interpreted things properly. Was I hopeful for an early 2018 release? Absolutely. Did I accept it as being a "release date"? Of course not. That would be a bit silly. In any case, how does this add up to "a year plus 4 days"? -
Is this official news?
