  1. It is possible it is the aircraft not resetting its own state correctly, it might even be a known bug already?! Or maybe a P3D4.5 bug which has been corrected since then in P3D5? Eventually, using a different aircraft, sophisticated enough, should help assessing some of this.
  2. I'm not sure about all the things Oculus, but on our Discord other Oculus users might help you better than me, and I thank them for this!
  3. During the FSExpo presentation and Q&A session, it seemed to me they are well aware of the need to raise the bar for the Prepar3D terrain rendering and they even said they are already in talks with different companies including Google. They were also clearly showing, in my opinion, that despite the commercial target of Prepar3D, simmers remain a valuable target and an asset to their product in many different ways (see the answer about using the "academic" license...) More specifically, in the Q&A, a question was asked about future version support for streaming the terrain ala fs2020, and the presenter said they are considering this and are already talking with both Google and Bing. The question starts at 21:13 in the presentation video below, and the answer was (just the main points): https://youtu.be/h4d0Xj3XUH4?t=1303 My understanding is that the future of P3D is bright for us simmers. ---- edited: future of P3D seems bright when considering the runner ups selected for best representing the rainbows in a "simulator": 🤣😜
  4. Thanks for the addition info. Can you also please tell about the very first question in my post? And whether you've tried the other things I'm mentioning? As for your other question, I'd suggest you try searching the forum (it is most likely discussed already 😉 ) Otherwise to create a new topic (it is easier to get assistance and help from other users if 1 topic = 1 question).
  5. Hi Alex, Do you mean you typically do a flight, then land, shut down the engine, then start it up again, taxi to the runway and take off again? This could be many things but the most obvious to me would be first: a) the aircraft doesn't resets its state as expected and this has an impact on the underlying FS autopilot system. -> are the aircraft gauges (HSI/VOR) deviations correct when the GTN boots up the second time? b) there is an unknown bug in the simulator autopilot system in these conditions. -> I don't know of any in particular, but just in case others also have the same issue, what is the aircraft and what simulator are you using? c) there is a bug in the trainer of some sort, and/or our interface. -> Do you reboot the GTN prior the next flight (powering off the device - i.e. shutting down the power source it is configured for in the aircraft) should reset its state for the session.
  6. Love this one: live long and prosper! With the latest version you can change some of the settings from an external app! Here is preview of how the command-line is working: Usage: C:\Program Files\OpenXR-Toolkit\companion.exe [app <name>] [-sunglasses <off|light|dark|trunite>] [-post-process <[0,1]>] [-contrast <[0,100]>] [-brightness <[0,100]>] [-exposure <[0,100]>] [-saturation <[0,100]>] [-vibrance <[0,100]>] [-highlights <[0,100]>] [-shadows <[0,100]>] [-gain-r <[0,100]>] [-gain-g <[0,100]>] [-gain-b <[0,100]>] [-world-scale <[0,1000]>] [-zoom <[1,150]>] [-reprojection-rate <unlocked|1/2|1/3|1/4>] [-foveated-rendering <toggle>] [-overlay <toggle>] When no app is specified, the currently running app is used. Use syntax <+N> to add value N to integral and decimal values (N can be negative) Use syntax <+N> to cycle by step N through enumeration values (with automatic wraparound) Examples: companion.exe -brightness 50.5 -contrast 45.8 Set brightness and contrast values for the currently running app companion.exe -sunglasses +1 Cycle through sunglasses mode for the currently running app companion.exe -world-scale +-10 Decrease world scale by 10% for the currently running app companion.exe -overlay toggle Toggle the overlay on/off for the currently running app companion.exe app FS2020 dump Dump settings for app 'FS2020' (Flight Simulator 2020) The dump option can be used to generate a command-line based on the current option values (eg: as you set from the menu in-game), so that you can copy/paste it directly: > companion.exe dump C:\Program Files\OpenXR-Toolkit\companion.exe app HelloXR -sunglasses light -post-process 1 -contrast 50 -brightness 0.1 -exposure 50 -saturation 50 -vibrance 0 -highlights 100 -shadows 0 -gain-r 50 -gain-g 50 -gain-b 50 -world-scale 101 -reprojection-rate 1/4 This isn’t the most integrated solution, but it should enable many scenarios. It will require you to install for example a 3rd party application that can invoke a command-line from a keyboard shortcut, or any other trigger (joystick, voice etc...). Hopefully this is simple-enough for most folks, and we can write a good guide to help with it. You’ll also note that not all settings can be controlled, and that is a deliberate choice. Settings requiring session restart are not included for example. Maybe we’ll extend the list in the future.
  7. Hi, Some of you might have read about the OpenXR Toolkit, some of you might even be already using it with DCS, ACC, IL2 or even FS2020. Chris has recorded an exclusive interview where Matthieu and I are sharing with the community everything you wanted to know about the team behind the OXR-TK project, how we did it, what we're looking for next, and many other VR technical infos (and even a few personal anecdotes!). It has been really fun and great doing, and we're so glad reaching out to our users! And for those of you knowing Reality XP for the last 20 years, well, now you can associate a face! You're all welcomed to tune your players to the Pie in the sky tours YT channel:
  8. If you're using the OXR-TK "Lock Motion Reprojection Rate" setting: it will display whether you have any CPU headroom or if you're missing the target frame time. Otherwise, it will check and give the indication whether you're CPU bound (that is if your CPU takes more time than your GPU by a certain margin). Please note these are not meant to be measuring tools of any sort, but convenient simple indications only, which does the job in most cases!
  9. Hey, thank you all for your warm comments! It has been really fun and great doing, and we're so glad reaching out to our users! And for those of you knowing Reality XP for the last 20 years, well, now you can associate a face!
  10. Not only the OpenXR Toolkit shows the actual fps, but it can also tell you whether you have some CPU margin, which can give an indication whether there is room for raising some game settings (in this case that would be settings affecting the CPU more).
  11. @gtv Hi, I'm sorry for the unusual delay answering your questions. The RXP GNS look and feel like the real GNS, including its flight plan sequencing and all the other neat Garmin functions, like IRL. As for the Flight Charts, unfortunately we haven't been spending enough time on this yet, we're very very busy right now on many different projects an a few simulator betas, and this takes most of our times, but I'll make sure to review all this once I can spare time for it.
  12. Hi, I'm sorry for the delay, but are you using VNAV or VCALC? The GTN offers 2 different vertical assist modes, a legacy and a newest.
  13. Hi Steve, A quick search online https://www.qwant.com/?theme=-1&vt=1&b=1&s=0&l=en&locale=en_US&q=site%3Aavsim.com+PA28+GTN+autopilot&t=web Gives plenty of past-answers, one of the latest unfortunately: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/611525-rxp-gtn-750-not-working-with-piper-arrow-turbo-iii-ap/?tab=comments#comment-4691405 I'll contact JF again about this and I hope they'll have some resources to spare on this problem with XP11.
  14. Hi, I'm sorry for the unusual delay answering your question. I'd suggest you review what I've just posted here:
  15. Hi, I'm sorry for the late answer. Please follow the recommendation I've posted here:
  16. HI, First of all, the G1000 is both an EFIS + a GPS, and in XPlane, it is a non-overridable first class citizen, meaning no 3rd party plugin can override the GPS part of the G1000. Thus, in principle, using both the stock G1000 and our GPS is not expected and not supported. Having said this, if this is working "enough", you might want to also enable the GTN setting "Auto-Update Simulator GPS Waypoints" (See RXP User's Manual Settings chapter for details).
  17. Hi, I'd suggest you 1) download and run the e-commerce installer from our website 2) enter your F1 account credentials 3) press REINSTALL.
  18. Hi, Let me try to help. Can you please describe whether there was any message when the installation was crashing? If yes, which message? Then, when it is crashing in XP11, what is the crash report information? What is XP11 saying?
  19. Thanks @charliearon @Steven P Hi, First, is this happening only with the Socata or any aircraft? Then, is this happening on the Socata 3D cockpit bezel, or the RXP GNS popup window?
  20. @Heronjr Hi, Can you please post the content of the RXP log files? (see RXP User's Manual for file/path) As for the as-admin, I understand you might be using add-ons which are requiring you to run as-admin, but this doesn't mean they are also always right asking you to. The UAC system and the "as-admin" workaround has been around since Windows Vista, more than a decade ago, and there is no need at all to run as-admin any simulator, except when an add-on is not designed with UAC related known techniques and UAC related WIndows APIs. The only few exceptions is probably FSX-SE which runs as admin by default and the FSX-SE store purchased add-ons which folders are protected so that modifying protected add-ons files in these protected folders is prohibited. The problem I'm trying to explain in my post above, is that when running the simulator as-admin, all the plugins also run as-admin, and when these plugins are accessing the file system or the registry, they get redirected to a different view of the file system and the registry than when not running as admin, and this can break things on one hand, and pose a security risk on the other hand. In the specific case of our products, the Trainer manages a certain number of registry entries, files, folders, each with certain access rights, and when accessing these under the "as-admin" view, some are not the same anymore and this can fail the trainer on some systems. Now since my post above, our solution has additional mechanism in place to try managing the access to the files and registry whether you're running as-admin or not. When the update was released, it just required our users who did run as-admin before, to run again one more time as-admin so that the solution could change some access rights back to a certain condition which wouldn't pose any problem in subsequent runs, whether these subsequent runs would be as-admin or not.
  21. Hi, I'm sorry for the delay. What matters is that you just install the RXP software, we're taking care of the rest, and the installer informs you if there is any missing component or if you don't have any compatible version!
  22. Hi, I'm sorry for the delay. The boxed version of FSX is compatible, provided you update the boxed version with the most current FSX boxed version updates, which are FSX-SP2 or FSX-ACC, aka Accelerator version.
  23. @bigsky10 Hi, I don't know whether you've found a solution to this issue since then, otherwise: - I'm not sure to understand what do you mean by "not picking up VOR or ILS frequency"? The GTN radios can be set to whatever frequency you want, which in turn tunes the underlying P3D radios frequencies to the same values. If the HSI or VOR gauge on the panel isn't displaying any deviation although the frequency is supposedly correct in the GTN, this only means the HSI or VOR gauge on the panel is not working for this frequency in P3D all by itself, not because of the GTN therefore. ?!
  24. Hi Peter, I'm sorry for the late answer. Did you cross check the CDI mode settings in the RXP Settings Panel? Could it be it is configured like this: SIM -> GPS (meaning the sim controls the CDI mode, therefore use the aircraft CDI mode button instead of the GTN CDI mode button to switch CDI mode)?
  25. @por930 Hi, I'm not sure whether you've solved this installation issue since you've posted? The message just tells the Garmin trainer database is either not installed, or it is installed and not found. edited: (just merged your other message) It looks like you've installed the DB on another drive than C, and on some systems, this breaks auto-detection. You might want to consider installing the DB in C instead, otherwise, did you try to manually "tell" the RXP GTN where to find the DB installation folder (detailed in the RXP manual)?
