You know, "flying" all this years with everything on FSX, I really have to say that PMDG product is by far the best and I can only hope that they will bring more products and maintain current on the same level. Considering the platforms we are using needles to say that feeling, immersion, usability, updates (unlike others), customer service, reality...... is absolutely fantastic. Ever since I downloaded first NGX, 777, now The Queen, I have to say that issues were so minimal, not worth even mentioning. I hope you guys will keep up the good work!

Exactly.....After I separated two and flying for month or so i got clear sound and understanding of everything, now I am fine either way......Little patience as well. Now, I can't imagine flight without VATSIM.....

I searched whole forum but with exception obvious answers (that are not good enough) I have not seen any activity on this Forum whatsoever, so I guess I am the only one experiencing same problem. I don't see lights in heavy fog and low visibility from Cockpit....Heavy clouds, set up by me or Live weather on ASN. Plain and simple, and yes I checked everything...Outside they work and I can see the difference. So either when they advertised they made it work but package does not provide that immersion. If that's the case I am fine with it but need to know. Please do not respond with manual and what is written in it, since i read it ten times and everything is set properly. Thank you

Thanks.....lots of things to look.....often we are just anxious just to fly... And this forum with new look is so slow that drives me to the wall.....something has to be done about it

Sorry for my ignorance, but if oil is low how do you add......never had that feature before and not sure how to do it.....

Happened to me once.....I had to exit and re-start again...every since than all good....sometimes you might have weird things that does not need any attention....

Even on visibility lower than 1/2 mile you can see lights from cockpit.....I have to say that I am disappointment with what I (don't) see in heavy clouds at night. I am able to see that on FSLlights. Unless I have different and wrong setup (BTW outside lights are OK), it is not as advertised.

Well, I have to say that, after initial issues with VAS and after few tests I am perfectly fine with what I see. True, FT scenery and for the same matter from other Vendors as well, cause initial high VAS, however, as it should be, goes down after take off and cruise. Things we know already. I completed over the weekend one 13 HR and one 7 HR flight and VAS both flight was anywhere between 2.4-2.7 GB.... (well in the green). No add on scenery, just usual, GSX, ASN. ORBX, HD APT, REX..... It appeared to me that each and every flight is getting better (not sure if it makes any sense) but I tested before all of this and results were funny. Within 1/2 HR I started Queen on FT CYYZ (heaviest of all heavy add ons by FT admission) and VAS usage was 2.8...I let it idle...looked around etc....1/2 later I restarted my PC same thing again and VAS 3.1...?! I mean that's roughly 300 MB for same thing. Unless, FSX has a mind on its own I have no valid answer for all of this. Needles to say that same thing was/is happening with FSL as well. Only stability I have among all add-ons are NGX and 777, so go figure.. Specs: 6700, MSI1070, 32GB (high pollutant memory name that I can't remember), few SSD drives (with capacity to fill all available data from one State) and tons of other money wasting "high supposed" quality hardware pieces that work like placebo in our mind so we can discuss on Forums...... :smile:

And that's the part I don't understand either,,,,I have not seen that before...Every time I am out I am going into Yellow VAS....

No...to be honest I forgot, but definitely I will....I made two flights over the weekend both over 7 HRS long and tested....First flight I ended up using 3.5 GB....for me that's a lot, still safe I know. Second flight I was in green even landing with extremely heavy, foggy, snowy WX on FT KBOS...no issues and all in green.....So who knows. FPS thru both flights were good and acceptable. I will turn shaddercache OFF and test again. Nothing to lose I guess....

But Than, I think, you have to update your AIRAC....after that....not sure. When I look into that folder I see all STARS and SIDs present, but I have not flown to KORD recently.....

I Have to say, same for me with everything you have in terms of add -on and FT CYYZ is definitely killer and I am avoiding landing or taking off from that Airport.....Sadly. In terms of VAS, yes, 2.5 - 2.6 all good till T/D than it spikes to 3 -3.1......More than 777 for me. FPS for some reason are lower, however last night I had moments going over 40....WOW. But it was smooth overall..... My second flight and I have to say that if it stays there I am OK. Tonight I will try 12 Hr flight and see what is going to happen.....

Thanks Dan, I however don't think that shaddercache will help....will try latter today definitely....But for all I know, I was in green with every add-on so far and no OOM's. I have to say, I made one flight, lasted over 4 Hrs, I left FSX at the gate for at least 2 Hrs prior to that flight and I played after the flight for 2Hrs. No OOM's, but my VAS was way higher (and not at the payware airport!). After that I started questioning their (PMDG) reports that 747 uses less VAS footprint than 777. And that is not true. Also worth noting, that I had NOT, purposely, updated my NVIDIA driver as of yet and I never do that after next one comes out. Since DEVS in NVIDIA dept don't care about FSX and P3D...they are more interested in their killing games........ :wink: P.S. I BTW ALWAYS have over 1GB on anything I fly - including all PMDG products.....and I am heavy with all add-ons....

But this is posted by the PMDG team: - Claims of VAS leaks Note that in order to investigate these properly we need clear evidence of an issue with specifics. This means testing in a controlled manner that eliminates confounding variables such as scenery or other addons. We are not yet convinced there are VAS issues with this product - we spent a heavy amount of time in beta testing on VAS optimization and leak hunting and had testers whose specific role was to find and track VAS leaks. We released confident that we were not seeing any.P.S. Forgot to add how clear needs to be when for the fact! 747 use more VAS than 777, now even more than FSL bus.....

You are using Navigraph? What AIRAC cycle you use....? Didi you re-downloaded new after after 747 V3....check all. Not at home now and can't check what is available....Also, I like Simbrief and it is 95% accurate, but sometimes it does not assign SID/STARS....Sometimes.ANd that also could be NAVIGRAPH issue he is using.

When I try doing that I lose on screen goes blank and i lose FSX, so I have to restart.....What I am doing wrong? Undock window check mark yes or no? Any other setting on video display? I am trying to do this for sometimes now and I gave up....

64 Bit...yeah...once becomes available.....they are talking but nothing official....

I couldn't agree more....! VATSIM brings me back to my kids dreams about flying real planes....LOL

Currently they are fixing few issues they had with P3D, but with last update I see they solved most of them.....They are progressing well after initial issues with both platforms. I am with steam and no issues whatsoever. P3D vs FSX, well, un answered questions Certainly both with limitation being 32 bit app. As far as I know p3d add-ons are few extra $$...but...

Well, after looking at your video I have to say that that's how FSX works...LOL... Try lowering your scenery and texture load.... But you might not accomplish much......I have heavy scenery and I haven't been able to solve that problem. In terms of CPU usage, FSX is very Hungry....and it will use CPU. Along with everything else running in background, cold get high. You have to see what is in the background and decide what you need and what is important or not.

DX10 has a better graphics and makes VAS and FPS more usable and better performance. Also with a fixer you have your graphics config at a glance and all important graphics accessible and adjustable i.e. lights, clouds, etc. after all it's not that pricey.

No problem.....But you should consider DX10,,,,,
