Finally I can get my airbus fix for v5. But hopefully FSLabs follows in the next few days 😄

The beast will awake this week! Fly the Maddog X for P3D v5
snapshot21 replied to JLuis's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
I believe its only for registered users/comes with the plane upon install. -
Its definitely reversible. If you know your way around registry editing, you can bring it back to the way before. As for the update, their official stance, as of right now, is that it will be free. The 777 definitely deserves an update and a lot of users have been waiting for years. PMDG knows this and I think it would be bad PR for them to have pushed back the update for so long then eventually charge for it. Just my opinion though. That could change in a moments notice.
-
if you are comfortable editing registry entries though, you can unofficially port the 777 to v5. https://pirep.co/install-pmdg-products-to-prepar3d-v5/ Disclaimer: Do so at your own risk. But based on other's experience, it works relatively well in v5.

Not yet. They will update the NGXu first, then followed by the Triple 7. As for when, nobody knows for sure 😄

The removal i was mentioning was for the TFDi 717 which was done for beta testing purposes. I do not suggest doing it for the MaddogX and it indeed does not use Reallight anymore as @Gumerson said. Only Trueglass and I dont think it will have a huge effect on VRAM usage.
-
Im open beta testing the TFDi 717 for P3Dv5. It has been found out that the DXGI errors that have been happening to that plane was caused by running out of VRAM. Removing reallight and trueglass which lessens the VRAM load substantially, fixes it for most users. The MaddogX is better optimised in that regard and despite using the same beta version of RL and TG, it has a substantially less VRAM load and no DXGi errors. Provided that you have more than 8GB of VRAM as recommended by the devs.

If you already have the expansion pack for v4, the v5 version is found under your purchase history 🙂 -
The devs recommend and advised, even before release, that a 8GB VRAM is required for the MaddogX right now. 980ti has 6gb if i recall correctly. On my flights so far, it seems to max out at 6.5gb-7gb with heavy scenery. So unfortunately, you have to wait for further optimizations or get a card with more VRAM. With p3dv5, 6gb just wont cut it at this point.

The only problem with it is the sudden wind shifts at high altitudes. But it is a LM bug.
-
If you know the flows of the 787 and can take it from A to B without any problems. You will probably have an easy transition to the 777 and vice versa (just like real life). Maybe even easier because the PMDG will have less bugs and better VNAV calculation. For the 747, you will need to learn or do a little reading on its systems. Like the fuel system for example. But it should be doable with enough effort even for an intermediate simmer, it is still a very automated plane 🙂
-
Look no further than the PMDG 747 when it comes to long haul. Atleast until PMDG comes up with the upgrade for the 777 which is supposed to bring it on par to their 747 and NGXu. Just noticed that you have the iFly 737 as your choice. If so, I suggest the FSLabs A320/19/21. Which is the best simulated add-on right now for desktop flightsim 😉

FSPS : FFTF DYNAMIC P3Dv5 Released

I used to think this program was a placebo . Bought it for v5 and instantly regretted not getting it for v4 all this time 😄 -

what's wrong with this site?

For some reason, it works right on my iphone. But on desktop or mac, the formatting is bugged. -
I agree, the PMDG 777 is worth every bit.. Just save up for it.

The UNS-1 in the majestic dash 8 can definitely calculate a descent path on its own, including ToD and respecting waypoint constraints.
-
If the FSLabs, which I maintain is still the current best plane in P3D, is out of reach, then maybe the PMDG 737 NGXu? Slightly less expensive, newly refreshed with modern features like PBR and other refinements. Almost all models now simulated. Plus lots of real world routes to choose from than all the other choices.
-
Majestic Dash 8 or Leonardo MaddogX. But if you can save up for the FSL Airbus. That really is in a level of its own in terms of quality.

Envshade has been updated for v5 compatibility for a while now.

What's a good plane between GA and Tubeliner for P3d v5?
snapshot21 replied to captain420's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
The FSW falcon 50 is also a great option. Plus it is 3 engine so it is unique 😄 Basically any of the FSW planes are a great option right now for v5. -
They seem to have even fixed or found a workaround for the wind shifting at high altitude bug. Finally I can do proper long hauls 😄

https://imgur.com/xZAJ0rs I see a lot of issues being pointed out here that are not being posted to the dev forums themselves. Chances are they are not reading this forum. The quicker they are informed, the quicker they can fix the issue and provide a better product for us. So please post your bug reports to hifisimtech directly.

Active Sky P3D5 Looks weird out in the distance
snapshot21 replied to captain420's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
I encourage everyone to please post bugs or issues they find directly to the dev's hifisimtech forums. That is the point of open beta after all. Inform the devs themselves of what we find, so that they can fix it. -
PCAviator is AU based I think. I hope it is not Flightsimstore. They are also AU based but now bankrupt/closed.
