I have Windows 10 Edu and Nvidia Inspector is working fine.

I found that my Internet Security (bitdefender 2015) was blocking the 737/777 from communicating with ASN silently even when all Flight Simulator related directories and files were whitelisted and "allowed" through the AV/Firewall. There were no warnings or alerts that anything was wrong, it just blocked it. Uninstalling Bitdefender solved the issue.

As a note for those who actually like the full screen metro start menu, it is still there! Right click on your taskbar and click "Properties", under "Start Menu" there is a check box for "Use start menu instead of start screen". Simply uncheck.

You don't need to reinstall. It is an "Upgrade" just like an update, even going into the tech preview.

From further research and looking around the OS it appears that Windows 10 is smarter than 8/8.1 in the sense that it won't select hardware such as joysticks for the "Power Saving Mode". My X55 does not appear in the list neither does it have the option to turn it on or off unlike other devices such as my Printer and external HDD's. Maybe MS have listened after all as so many people complained about this.

I noticed a slight decrease in initial load time however loading the flight itself appeared unchanged. Other than that everything seemed to run the same as before.

None at all, however I never had any in Win8 either.

Well I have done a flight with Win10 and so far all seems to work, even EZdok. So far so good.

Jon, Not sure what you mean by "asks for my password" but if you are using the password you use to login to the PMDG store then this is incorrect. Within the PMDG store you can login and find a list of your previous orders, clicking on the order number of the NGX order will open up the details. Towards the bottom of that page you will find a activation code, this is what you need to put into the box. Hope this helps Kieron

It depends when I am flying to be honest. If I am doing an early morning flight then I will use cold and dark as it is likely the first flight of the day. If I am doing a flight during the day, I tend to use a turn around state.

I'm not familiar with the specific failures mentioned, however, I do recall reading (possibly in one of the manuals) that although the 777 has checklists and EICAS warnings for many of the possible failures, not all. The reason being the sophistication of the system on-board. The 777 will work out internally if a specific failed system(s) can be rectified by the flight crew. If it isn't, and the failure doesn't impact the safety of the flight or regulations etc, then the 777 simply won't burden the flight crew. After all, what is the point of the crew worrying about something if they can neither fix the issue, and it wouldn't effect them or the flight? Once again, I could be wrong, however I am 90% sure I read this (or something along the lines of this) in one of the manuals. Or maybe I am still suffering from 777 dreams :huh: All the best, Kieron

I must say, as a Game Designer, the hype within the FS Community is far exceeding a popular game I have worked on, which is due for release soon! Just goes to show that the community is still around, albeit in the woodwork most of the time!

Well I was hoping for a release before X Factor started, and as this hasn't happened (and quite rightly so) I have ended up watching it... What has become of my life? or lack of.

It sure is Virgin's 100Mb broadband, I found out the wifi/ethernet cable issue after months of complaining to them about my slow speeds! Why they don't tell you this in the first place, i'll never know! Now I get around 120Mb/s thanks to their speed upgrade promotion. Thanks anyway!

I received the game on Friday, and other than the first hour after downloading, I have had no connection issues - maybe it has something to do with me having the UK's fasted broadband? Who knows. Today the servers went offline for a while, however shortly after they released news of a patch, so the server going offline for a short while is understandable. In this sense it is no different to an FS developer upgrading their servers leaving you unable to activate your product for a while. As for the Online-Only strategy: I personally have no issues with it, I read that it was online-only back before pre-ordering, and when they released the information about it back in the Summer of 2012. I understand that for all, this isn't exactly the ideal situation, but if companies tried to please everyone then products would become very big, and very expensive. EA and the guys at Maxis have attempted something new and unseen when it comes to city-building games (at least I think it is?), and that is the multiplayer aspect - no city runs on it's own! Granted not everybody wants to play with other people, and maybe they should have thought about that, but as a whole that would of changed the game and the way it works. With the game using a lot of the server for saves, global markets and the leaderboards/stats and what not, offline play simply wouldn't be possible, yet. As has been mentioned, there are other games out there which do the same thing and allow offline play. EA/Maxis have admitted that they were wrong in not predicting the demand for a game which hasn't seen a release in a decade, nobody is perfect, not even large companies! They have offered us the ability to choose a game from the 18th for free, which although might not suit some, at least they are trying. They didn't see the demand in the pre-order sales, which along with the beta they based their server requirement information on - according to their recent Twitter Q&A, bad move? definitely so. Unfix-able? No. Inconvenience? Yes! Don't forget guys, the game was only released on Tuesday for some countries, Thursday and Friday for most others. The "New Game" novelty is still very much in the air at the moment, with some of us only racking up two possible days to play on a very anticipated game. Give it a few weeks and people will get that out of their system, and sever capacity will increase. Just my 2 pence worth, nothing is aimed at anybody in particular just my general thoughts and gripes. Of course, everybody is entitled to their own opinion and choices as a consumer. I apologize for any bad spelling/grammer etc. It is now 3AM and I still haven't woken up properly!

I find long hauls a perfect time to complete any assignments or essays for my studies. With FS running it stops me booting up another hands on game, which in turn distracts me.
