  1. You can Disable 'Tips' in the Assistance Menu somewhere -
  2. Er, this is the MSFS 2020 forum. DCS Forum is here: https://www.avsim.com/forums/forum/528-digital-combat-simulators-dcs-forums/
  3. From the Manual; TAKEOFF NOTES - Generally, no more than +7 lbs. of Boost should be required for takeoff. Less power means less of a tendency for the aircraft to twist and yaw to the left - There is a tendency for the aircraft to yaw left on takeoff, this should be carefully corrected withright rudder during takeoff. You will need to make small, constant adjustments and ‘dance’ onthe rudder in some takeoffs. - After takeoff, retrim the rudder and elevator I'm okay with the Takeoff - it's getting the thing back down in one piece that I find tricky; bleeding off that last 15 kts just at the right time for a short runway. Oh well, more practice tomorrow.
  4. I've hacked down the ILS for 20 around here in PMDG 737 NGX, PMDG 777, FSL A320X, CaptainSim 737-200ADV, and the rest. I love it - it's where you go to prove to yourself you can do 4 Takeoffs and Landings and do them well - by hand. Then, you're free to join the Line.
  5. And it's lovely, but what we really, really, really want is Chateauroux LFLX so we can blast the Base Training in the Busses. If you know someone who would be interested in doing this scenery please tell them;
  6. Yeah, Dominique - the guy first left on the port wing looks like a real Hitter and the guy, first right, on the starboard wing looks like a Pitcher. Reckon that's yours. It's so interesting how a single photo can expand itself in to an entire story/ history of such significance. It's brilliant. Those guys out there, working, flying and spending their well-earned down time doing what they really loved. Incredible.
  7. Yeah, but it's quite a sharp angle on the canted wing so even the guy on the left could probably stand under the wing tip? (in the photo above) It is a huge bird. I must admit - I had no idea it was that big. Love the improvised Chocks. Not sure why the guys nearest the cockpit are wielding baseball bats. Probably have their reasons - or maybe they've been in the jungle for too long. . . What's your verdict on the afternoon's flying David?
  8. Yeah, but they are really big - just been having a look (and that guy on the right is quite short). I don't doubt if you say so however. You think they got the scaling wrong maybe? Surely not Milviz.
  9. In sd_flyer's picture it does look bloody huge - camera angle?
  10. I don't know what happened Chock - there I was in the Milviz Sale Hangar - card in hand, when something stopped me. Probably David and you reporting that she's a handful and I realised I'd been flying the Robin for too long and hadn't flown something with some real guts for a long time (not since A2A Accu-Sim Spitfire in P3D). Also, as it is my first purchase of any kind in the new sim I thought I'd go for the Spit - get some tail dragger practice in and then go for the Corsair - which is going to be a definite Buy for me - soon as I'm up to speed on the old warbirds again. So, in summary; I bottled it! 😉 A gentle evening terrorising the South Coast beckons in this for now.
  11. You're right Guv, Track IR can be fickle - sometimes yes, sometime no.
  12. Okeedokee. Corsair it is. Thanks. Off to get it now.
  13. Nice one Chock. If you had to ditch either the Corsair or the FlyingIron Spit - which would go to the breakers yard?
  14. Best aircraft in MSFS2020 so far then? (wallet is hopping about on the floor behind my chair saying; "Buy it, buy it, buy it!")
  15. Wood comprised quite a lot of the construction materials of the de Havilland "bat" Jet; the first British jet aircraft to go supersonic after taking off and later landing under its own power.
  16. Welcome to Track IR - brilliant isn't it. Beware though - there will come a time where you can't fly without it! As others have said - that's normal. Use pause. You can start MSFS then start Track IR. However, as it's new; have you checked for Game Updates - top right corner of the Track Ir screen? Also, as you become familiar with Track IR you might like to try Seth's Flight profile - which is excellent for cockpit use. https://forums.naturalpoint.com/download/file.php?id=61 If you just left click on the download link, it will try to open the .xml file in your browser, which will give you an error. To install the profile, right click the link, and save it to Program Files/NaturalPoint/TrackIR5/Profiles.
  17. Well, that's cool and I don't know what real world experience you have (could be you have thousands of hours on complex types with type ratings, etc) but I have real world experience too in SEP aircraft and, I don't think any of them (P3D, XP, MSFS2020) feel remotely like the real thing because I can tell you one thing; none of them can reproduce or simulate this; and that's when you come in on short final, let her down gently, flaps out, come down to 10' or so and you see that runway flattening out around your shoulders and I tell you; every time - just for an instant - you feel the devil bite your behind as the stall horn sounds and then you touch and rollout. Closest I've got so far to that; sweaty palms, held breath, is MSFS 2020. It used to be P3D and before that FSX. Asobo and MS are on track.
  18. I bet there's folk around here - AND I WAN'T TO MAKE IT QUITE CLEAR; I'M NOT MENTIONING ANY NAMES - who tout the whole P3D thing being "more real" (Lockheed Martin blah, blah, blah) than MSFS2020. But who in reality, haven't been near P3D for a good few weeks/ months and instead find themselves flying around in MSFS2020 muttering to themselves; "OMG, look at the visuals, OMG look at that, this is incredible, OMG I'm really flying! why can't LM do that?" And sobbing quietly in to their glass of rhetoric. At best P3D was FSX on steroids. And we all know what happens if you abuse steroids. You end up a puddle on the floor of the gym, which, I believe is the general consensus of P3D V5.1 Not that I'd know - I bailed round about V4 - when it seemed the only options were to buy here, there and everywhere - much of the time in AUS dollars - to put lipstick on the pig.
  19. Yep, 22 August when I purchased, 193 Hours to date. I'm sure I've flown more hours than that though because it doesn't seem to record all flights correctly.
  20. You were right and I was wrong, see? 🙂 The only way to change the baro on the G3000 is on the lower keypad knob on the left as you said.
  21. Don't take my word on anything mate, honestly. Memory like a sieve. I'm just about to fly the old crate for a couple of hours so I'll check as well.
