  1. Correct. The name "preset" comes from the fact that technically it's injected into MSFS as a preset, albeit a dynamically changing one (through updates and transitions).
  2. @JYWReally just write them a ticket and they'll probably refund the month. Those are nice guys over there and they do not scam people. Also from all subscriptions I've ever done I always had to (manually) end the subscription. That's the basic meaning of "subscription" - you have to cancel it if you want it to end. Otherwise it would be called "1 month license" or something like that.
  3. In general: Using a FP will ensure you get the weather that's reported via the METAR. If you don't, you might get a liberal interpretation of several METARs of nearby airports plus interpolation. So the weather at your departure/destination airport might look quite different than what's in the METAR. That's usually a bad thing, obviously, at least for IFR.
  4. Okay that's something else than what was discussed. If the FP is wrong/old it might do weird things, that's understandable.
  5. I have seen multiple layers with flight plans. On approach the weather is cloned by the destination airport, no idea what you mean by "unrelated". Damian explained why the flight plan is needed and what he said also explains why something might change when you clear the flightplan (AS forgets about your destination and will use other data on approach instead of the destination airport METAR). Especially the appearance of additional cloud layers is explained through that (METARs only report the lowest layer, so that's what you will get on approach with a flight plan; Damian is however working on improving the depiction of [undisclosed] upper cloud layers when using METAR data only).
  6. Uh no, you are the one who "advised" so on the HiFi forums. Damian, the dev, on the other hand said flight plans work fine and are actually better for IFR flights.
  7. That's because there's nothing you have to set in MSFS, because AS will do it for you. The "correct" state to show in MSFS is Live Weather OFF, real time or not does not matter for AS. (If you want historical weather coupled with the time slider in MSFS, just click the "Force historical time to sim time" box in the AS Historical Weather window. If you're using live weather in AS, the time of day does not matter for AS). You do not need to touch anything in MSFS in regards to weather, just leave it alone and AS will set it appropriately once injected. Your problem seems to be that it does not actually inject the weather, so a connection issue. You should check the posts on the HiFi forum (you don't need to have an account to read) and see the many solutions posted over there. This will solve your problem - if not, support ticket.
  8. I‘m afraid you‘re right. People that have been on the beta have very clearly said that this is far from reliable for IFR flights, and on top of that people have really high expectations. This together is a recipe for disaster.
  9. AIGround and AIFlow can only be used with MSFS injected traffic. Since FSHud injects its own traffic, they have no influence on FSHud.
  10. Please reread my first post you quoted. I was talking about SI and BATC planning to include AI injection and controlling.
  11. If that's what's needed to get vectoring right in a video game in an acceptable amount of time, it kind of proves my point 😉 Also even that brilliant mind would probably have gone the way of "a beautiful mind" if he had to code vectors for 30 AI aircraft simultaneously.
  12. Yes, highly recommended for any AI traffic tool. It massively improves AI separation and runway incursions and other immersion-breaking stuff. And - above all - it lets you manually force runways for landing and/or takeoff, effectively preventing any AI aircraft taking off right into your final approach because MSFS decided to change runways every 2 minutes in light wind situations.
  13. No they cannot be ignored (for technical reasons), so MSFS default turbulence will always be active. The AS devs said they created AS with MSFS turublence set to LOW, so you might want to set that too.
  14. Maybe it‘s something else needed, flightnumber, departure runway in the LEGS page or something like that. No landing calculation isn‘t included (yet).
  15. I can only tell you what I do: I only calculate performance when I entered at least the RTE page in the FMC (origin and destination airport), usually by uploading the flightplan from Simbrief. When I then turn to the EFB, the airport is already prefilled. I suppose it takes it right from the departure airport field in the FMC. So enter that first in the FMC and try again. By the way: I think the "copy FMC" button copies the performance data TO the FMC by the way.
  16. I've said it often, and I'll say it again: There's a reason that it took P2ATC 10 years to get vectoring really right. And it is - as of now - the only ATC in flightsim history that has accomplished that. When i read the posts on the SI discord that vectoring will be "fixed by tomorrow", I can only sit back and smile. Neither SI nor BATC seems to have any idea about how hard this is going to be and how long this will take (years). And that is only for *your* aircraft! Now imagine doing vectoring for AI aircraft too, and keeping separation etc. at the same time! I've heard FSHud has started trying this and again, I can only sit back and smile. They also have no idea what they took upon them.
  17. 24h is pretty good if it's about having the right weather for the time of day of your flight whereever you fly. That said I wonder how they'll manage to do this with their global weather model with cloud formations and stuff. Also would be great to have something else than 24 hours of cumulus clouds 😄
  18. I guess no one can complain anymore about flat clouds, especially CU clouds look massive now.
  19. I mean, they also did KBOS… which is looking and performing excellantly with the FlyTampa version. That makes even less sense.
  20. Right now at FL300 the "conditions" page says: SCT012 extends to:4964 feet (Cloud type:ST, Turbulence:Severe, Icing:Moderate, Shear:Steep, Cloud shape:Flat). BKN022CB extends to:43461 feet (Cloud type:CB, Turbulence:Severe, Icing:Moderate, Shear:Steep, Cloud shape:Round). I can also see those 2 cloud layers. 21. Oh, sorry for the misinformation in that case. You might check flightradar24 for the airlines going into ENGM instead. And no, Dynamic FPs get installed automatically if you install the appropriate GA "airlines" (which are not airlines in this case).
